Since Andy made this video Mission Models have released a set of RLM Luftwaffe colours and I can honestly say they are incredible. I think they are probably the most historically accurate RLM colours I’ve come across and they look incredible. In all honesty these are the best paints I’ve used with Mr Hobby/Mr Colour coming a very close second.

Thanks Andy for the review! Just found out about the paint and was looking into what info I could find. Currently building a CAT Dozer and the Yellow they offer looks spot on. Being down the road in Tucson I'll give you a call for a purchase. Keep those videos coming!!!

I am having a tough time with these paints getting results I like. And yes, I've read the FAQ a gazillion times. Yes only water through these brushes before the MMP. Yes only using their thinner and poly. Yes using 10 paint, 3 thinner, 1 poly. Airbrush gums up, sprays unevenly, just not easy to work with at all. I want to love it as I love the color choices but man I can't get even half the results others show, following the directions exactly.

I've heard from some places if you use other paints besides MMP in your airbrush, the residual chemicals interfere without. The advice I was given was to get a cheap airbrush and use it solely for MMP

Andy, so glad that I subscribed to your channel. Your reviews and instructional videos are fantastic. I use a lot of paints and really like Tamiya and Model Master Acrlyics, but Tamiya has what I call "healing properties". when sprayed any imperfections in the model disappear. The new Mission Model Paints seem to be even better. Will they introduce any colors that are used in model railroading? I hope they do, even though some of the military colors will work! Thank you so much for the video and will be watching for more. D. Muse (Washington Terminal Co Model RR)

I think, adding an acrylic polyurethane is always a good idea.....They're pretty much all the same. Whether it's just floor wax, Createx 4030, or Minwax poly/crylic especially for your craft paints.

In the Mission Models pamphlet ( the fold up that has the color charts) they say to spray at "10 and 15 psi, even lower for fine lines", I noticed you sprayed at 22-23, have you sprayed any yet at the pressure recommended by Mission Models? Just curious to know if there is a difference in the outcome, I usually airbrush around 22 also, it's hard to break old habits! Thanks

This line of paint sounds like it would be fantastic for the Miniature Gaming Industry if it had a suitable color palette.
    Made in the USA!
Is there any word of new colors like used for the Miniature Game Industry by companies like Vallejo for example?

I've always used Testors Acryls, but today my Aircraft Grey looked way too green for my liking, so I went up to my local HobbyTown USA and they had a brand new rack of Mission Models paints. I chit-chatted with one of our better plastic modelers and he told me he really likes them, so I bought a bottle and some thinner (he wasn't sure about the Poly or how to use it, but I may go back for some of that). I have a question about airbrush pressure - I have a SprintJet compressor, when I set my pressure, am I setting it for what it reads static, or for what it reads when I'm spraying? Even though I've had it for 15 years, I really haven't used it all that much so I'm still learning. Thank you.

Cheapest would be the old EMHAR kit, but this has a lot of fit issues and some poorly moulded parts.
      Best to avoid.
That leaves MENG, TAKOM & TAMIYA, none of which are cheap.
$50 for a Whippet, on up to $70+ for Mk.IV, V, and Tadpoles etc.
You can search on eBay for a better price though.
Hope this has been of some use!

Well, these paints failed in their main promise: shelf life. Luckily I only bought two (MMP-104 Insignia White and MMP-037 IDF Sandgrey Version 1) around 3 years ago. Today I have the mood to paint a Merkava III Baz. I have a few kind of Sinai Grey, and I choose this. Total catastrophy. First of all I need to shake it at least a quarter of hour to free up all the sediment from the bottom. After that I just poured some to the cup of my airbrush after the thinner. Wasn't instantly clear to me, but it just wasn't able to mix. I tried to spray it, after a few seconds I gave up. What was in the cup I can call it only a mass of turd. Half an hour airbrush cleaning. And then testing in a mixing bowl. Nothing can thin it! Nor pure IPE, nor denatured alcohol, nor water, nor specific acrylic thinner. I ended up pouring the whole bottle of paint into the crap reservoir. And after this I do a try with the white. Just as bad as the other, the sediment had cracks in it seen through the bottle. Will end up the same place. Complete debacle.
Meanwhile my 26-27 years old Tamiya and Gunze acrylics are still in good shape, I can use them any time I want, and I have the choice of the thinner too (IPA, DenAlc, acrylic thinner, lacquer thinner, name it). Half or quarter bottle of paints refuse to die or dry up. Model Master enamels are tipycally the same with their own thinner choices (white spirit, lacquer thinner). And those never advertised themselves as high shelf life paints.
