The harmonic trem on the magnatone is one of the best sounding things to ever been made. A sam ash local to me had a brownface deluxe with harmonic trem. One of my favorite amps I have heard
It’s not Harmonic Trem. It’s a Pitch Shifting Vibrato. They can sound similar, but the Trem on them isn’t Harmonic, that’s the Pitch Shift effect. Harmonic Trem uses a separation of signal in two, bass and treble, modulating in opposition. The Magnatone Vibrato, is often lumped in with Harmonic Trem, but it’s mainly because the Brownface Fenders, said Vibrato on them. The Mag Vibrato, actually uses phasing and filters to get that similar pitch shifting modulation. I’m a dork about these modulations, and Uni Vibe, learning how different they can be. In Stereo one can hear the biggest differences. I still use a Whetstone Phaser, because as it’s a wicked phaser, and it has a Vibrato mode, that really gets the Magnatone sound, but it’s not stereo. Although, with a stereo A/B/Y, pedal, it sounds like a Magnatone in stereo.
Glad to see you jumpin on the Magnatone train! I got a Panoramic last year and it is by far my top 3 favorite amps that I own. I've always wanted a stereo amp and it really sounds amazing in person. Also my bassist that I've played with for years has always used Ashdown since I've known him and I'm also glad to see the Ashdowns getting around as well!

Rhett, this is hands down one of the best videos you've ever made. It looks, sounds, and story tells exceptionally well. Total shame with TSA. Especially, as Rhett is tweaking so much on his own, right on stage. It's not like he has an engineer controlling his effects. But, hey, when you can pull it off and everything works, well, how wonderful, eh?
Best reason to try to use production items on the road - not because they're new or the best thing ever but because if something goes wrong then if you can't buy one you can probably borrow one.
