    My uncle works for the TSA, and he said that every time Rhett takes a flight, some guy named Josh calls a few hours ahead reporting "suspected contraband hidden in a pedal board case"...

    The harmonic trem on the magnatone is one of the best sounding things to ever been made. A sam ash local to me had a brownface deluxe with harmonic trem. One of my favorite amps I have heard

    • @CorbCorbin
      @CorbCorbin Год назад +1

      It’s not Harmonic Trem.
      It’s a Pitch Shifting Vibrato. They can sound similar, but the Trem on them isn’t Harmonic, that’s the Pitch Shift effect.
      Harmonic Trem uses a separation of signal in two, bass and treble, modulating in opposition. The Magnatone Vibrato, is often lumped in with Harmonic Trem, but it’s mainly because the Brownface Fenders, said Vibrato on them.
      The Mag Vibrato, actually uses phasing and filters to get that similar pitch shifting modulation.
      I’m a dork about these modulations, and Uni Vibe, learning how different they can be. In Stereo one can hear the biggest differences.
      I still use a Whetstone Phaser, because as it’s a wicked phaser, and it has a Vibrato mode, that really gets the Magnatone sound, but it’s not stereo. Although, with a stereo A/B/Y, pedal, it sounds like a Magnatone in stereo.

I can't imagine how scary (but so satisfying) it is to fly so far, and be so dependent upon effects, boards, and electronics dependably working. Especially, as Rhett is tweaking so much on his own, right on stage. It's not like he has an engineer controlling his effects. Hey Reth the solo starting a 24:55 has just a great guitar tone & executed like a champ! Love it!

    I traveled with a pedalboard for decades until I finally grew so tired of damages that I broke down and purchased a processor and forced myself to get used to the tone change.
    I pack my processor in my carry-on... No damage issues.
    It's been worth the compromise.

    I was quite an early adopter of your channel Rhett and I enjoy every aspect of it. But no one does anything close to the same interest and quality of your Backstage Journals. Always interesting and entertaining, but the production quality just goes up and up. The shot under the opening title credits is a piece of art in itself. Keep it up, man. And when are you going to tell us about that new Novo?? 😉
