  • New or inexperienced Humminbird Helix users often make this common mistake. Although they will eventually find their desired screen, it is generally a random way to get to the destination. Learn a simpler, more efficient way to get to your screen destination or view.

    Great new format, Steve...
I agree with others that we would like to see more of both in-depth videos as well as "quick hitters"..
Please provide more of these for all of us that are probably making the same universal mistakes...
    Thanks for your time/knowledge...

Thanks Isaac, your feedback is important to me and much appreciated. The teacher in me wants to be thorough and teach the bigger, complete picture but I also understand that people are busy and have limited time so the shorter videos will appeal to busy anglers.

YES! Shorter is better. These things are so complex trying to learn it is like eating an elephant. One bite at a time is easier.

Steve, I have been watching your videos on Humminbirds for a couple of years now and have learned so much. You have also been very good at quickly responding to questions I have had relating to my Helix 7 and 9 and I thank you for that. Your videos have saved me a lot of time and frustration. Keep them coming.

You’re quite welcome John. I remember what it was like when I was learning and do my best to help other anglers when I have the opportunity. Thanks for watching my channel 😊

Professor Chiasson, that's how I think of you. That said, I prefer your longer tutorials over this short version. Looking forward to a video on Minnkota Trolling Motors I Pilot Link and the new Quest series in particular. Thanks.

Thanks Duke, I truly appreciate people like you who enjoy my tutorial versions on my channel. Those videos are the heart and soul of my channel. Thanks for the feedback, it’s important to me. I will continue with my longer videos as well. I wanted to try a few of the shorter ones if there was a need or want to isolate some of the important, widely used tips.

I am planning on ordering a Quest asap. I will definitely do a video when I get one. The Quest comes with IPilot Link standard.

I have mine ordered. I wanted to go to a 72" shaft and while I was at it I ordered a Rip Tide to get the motor in white to match my boat and outboards. My dealer feels that Minnkota has perfected the brushless technology so that he was confident to recommend it as long as the price point didn't dissuade me. I am having him mount it on my boat with a Shuttle Slide mount.@@stevechiassonfishing5876

Been watching you many years. I purchased my first boat 5 years ago with a helix 9 and 7, you have helped me tremendously. Your slower, methodical way of explaining helps one have time to absorb the information , especially for us seniors. Both types of videos are great. The short ones are great refresher courses. Sometimes we forget about shortcuts we learned about a few years back.

I have a Helix 7 unit and it appears it's primarily a 2D unit only. So far no evidence of down imaging or side imaging capability. Im an old school crappie fisherman and not savy in the use of these electronics. Would surely like to expand my usage beyond an indicator of depth, water temperature and simple 2D scrolling.
    Thanks.

When you press and hold the view key, right click on sonar, it will show you what options you have on your unit. You can also check the label, look on the bottom of your unit. SI units, have 2D, DI, SI, Map, DI units have 2D, DI, Map, Chirp/GPS has 2D, Map, Chirp has 2D only.

Do a video showing how to identify each of the different views by name. 2D/DI/Mega

    • @stevechiassonfishing5876
      @stevechiassonfishing5876  7 месяцев назад

I have individual videos, which are tutorial based instructional videos on 2D, DI, SI, Mega 360, Mega Live which are the most popular videos on my channel. Each video has settings and images from on the water that I have taken. My DI video is over 160 000 views and my others are generally 50 000 plus views. Watching these videos will give you a clear idea about the capabilities of each type of sonar.
