    This 'intro' to subtractive synth is better than almost all of the YT videos claiming to be 'advanced'. I've been doing production for 30 odd years and rarely do I see YT videos that make me genuinely listen. Your approach to this whole thing is fantastic - if I was a newbie I would 100% be paying for your courses.

I'm still a newb for sure, but I wish I had been able to see this presentation before I even started getting into synths. I'll be looking into more of your content for my continuing education for sure!

    Is the LFO always running like the oscillator, or is it triggered the moment I press a key?

    • @OscarUnderdog
      @OscarUnderdog  4 года назад +9

      It could be either one! Most LFO's have an "R" button (for "retrigger") to turn that option on or off. People disactivate Retrigger if they want to keep the sound moving organically. People activate Retrigger if they want predictable "wubs", like dubstep growls :)

    Amazing video. How does the Filter's envelope works? So if you wanted to go from dark to light and to dark again, what Attack, Decay, Sustain and Release do you need?

    • @jonathanroseii905
      @jonathanroseii905 2 года назад +1

      start with filter at a more closed position have it open on Attack portion, as it reaches the top it will become brighter. On the decay portion it will close the filter and become darker. You can sustain your tone by effecting the sustain level, on the release portion it will close back down to the original position.
