Hey S&M, we hope you all have a wonderful day, Thank you all for watching!!
My daughter likes watching you guys. She is twelve. One of her new favorite songs is a pretty old one called fame by irene cara. Could you react to that one.
Shawn and Mel I found a song that I cant find a reaction from anyone for , it's Bon Jovi - Living in Sin. A beautiful, beautiful song maybe you guys can be the first or just listen to it and let me know if yo uh like it. Very passionate !!! :)
Love you guys! Alien Ant Farm These Days. They crash the BET awards! Great content guys! S&M4Life
Since you call yourselves S & M you should do some reactions to Metallica’s show called S & M where they played with a symphony orchestra. S for Symphony and M for Metallica of course lol.
@@markcastellanet9672 Wow your daughter is amazing and yes we will react to her song❤️
The great thing about this song/video is that while performing Smooth Criminal, the video pays tributes to multiple MJ songs
virtually everything in the video is a run of tributes covering his whole career
Reactors miss it every time
Kid was wearing a mask in 1992...
The billy jean sidewalk
No shit Sherlock.
Michael Jackson loved this cover plus he loved Weird Al Yankovic's parodies of his songs too.
Who's fat?
They showed Michael Jackson before they released it and he loved it!
MJ came to their live show the year this album came out and sung that song with them and told them they are only band to make that song their own style with respect.
BOOOOOOOOOM an absolute awesome tribute to the King.
Never knew that.
That’s sick.
The weird thing, the kid doing the MJ moves is wearing a facemask, people are so immune to it now you don't realize it was a tribute to MJ who always wore them.
and your point?
@@galacticcaveman4045 Haha my point was, at first you see him with the facemask. It's normal now and you don't think twice about it. But back in the late '90s when this video came out, it was clear it was a tribute to MJ.
@@user-sm2ql7nq4l i get what you're saying about the tribute. but i am not immune to seeing facemasks at all. it is a bleak reminder of our situation these days. back then it had little meaning to most people. you can say he wore one because he was a germaphobe or it was fashion. but it sure wasn't that he predicted the future, i don't buy that for one second.
@@galacticcaveman4045 I hear ya. I met MJ back in '96 film bookstore in Hollywood. He was wearing a turban and a face mask. Some chick was bugging him. He had a body ran off with the kids to the car, I yelled at the lady to leave him alone. She cussed me out lol. But MJ thanked me. I will never forget that day.
@@galacticcaveman4045 That is the whole point..... it has nothing to do with today!
I love the amount of Michael Easter eggs through the whole video.
This band kills it. They have so many good songs and never got the recognition they deserved.
Attitude is a great song that never got any recognition
Tons of Easter eggs in this for you! Here's a breakdown.
2:13 The kid is wearing a mask, like how Michael wore one later on in life. And if you notice, he's roughly the same age Michael was when they started with the Jackson 5.
2:33 the lean. Everyone catches that.
2:37 When Michael toured Asia, the Asians were absolutely crazy for him. This is a throwback to that.
2:54 The girl is in a high school letterman's jacket and wearing a wolf mask. Throwback to Thriller when Michael changed into the werewolf.
3:18 and 3:22 shoutout to the four dads from the TV show "King of the Hill"
3:24 to 3:35 Drummers may wear gloves to protect the senses in their hands from going numb from the drumsticks. Note that the drummer here is only wearing 1 glove on his right hand. The same hand that Michael wore his glove on.
3:40 He's sitting with a chimpanzee. The chimp is wearing a diaper, like Bubbles, Michael's chimp, did. And they're sitting in a sequined glove that Michael used to wear
3:49 The sidewalk lights up wherever they are stepping. Throwback to Billie Jean.
4:11 Straight from the extended version of the video for Black or White. Michael jumped on the car, did that, and then destroyed the car.
4:21 King of the hill guys with the Thriller moves.
4:25 Michael always stood on that vent to have the air blow up from under him. Here you go.
4:33 to 4:49 More throwback to Billie Jean. Everything Michael touched lit up.
5:14 Notice how the singer is pulling up his pants to show his socks. Michael always wore shorter pants to highlight the white sequined socks he wore to go along with the sequined glove. Throwback to Billie Jean there.
5:29Throwback to the end of Thriller, when Michael turned back toward the camera and had the werewolf eyes. Also, the tattoo on the guy's back? That's Liz Taylor, who Michael had a very good friendship with. Also, that guy happens to be Flea, the bassist from the band Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Well said,
So many eggs, and it is apparent, that even many fans of MJ, of this generation, still have not seen all his iconic videos, to catch these references. But, yeah, expertly done tribute video. MJ enjoyed this version so much, that Alien Ant Farm performed it at the memorial for MJs passing. The family insisted. Very respectfully done, all around.
If it is true, someone mentioned that the house behind that kid dancing is the actual childhood home of MJ in Indiana.
@@cozenw3236 It is. That's their first house, in Gary, Indiana.
I’ve been a fan of theirs since Greatest Hits album from ‘99 and even I didn’t know all this.
So there's no beat it video references ?
They managed to incorporate the Smooth Criminal, Billie Jean, Black or White and Thriller videos into this plus countless MJ tributes like the kid wearing the mask and the singer sitting in "The Glove" chair with the Chimpanzee.
Michael Jackson And alien ant farm got along really well he approved everything that they did and they were actually such good friends and he enjoyed their version so much that these guys actually played on his tribute concert and played several songs of his after he passed away for the concert. Sometimes you can actually still find the video here on RUclips.
MJ approved the whole thing. He loved it!
If you haven’t realize There’s a little bit of everything of Michael Jackson songs in this song
They are TRUE fans of Michael Jackson and if you watch this video from the VERY beginning to the end they put in a ton of EASTER EGGS for people to find. It takes watching it more than once to find them ALL but they paid great homage to MJ and even I believe it was The Family Guy! Watch it again and see if you can find ALL of the tributes to MJ in this video which is one reason why MJ not only approved of the video but also was involved in the production of it!!
I watched a reaction to this song on another channel and though they claimed to be MJ fans they missed 95% of the Easter Eggs.
A tribute to MJ ❤
The late great Chris Cornell did a cover of Billie Jean....he definitely made it his own like he always did. R.I.P CHRIS!!!
Dam I miss Chris Cornell 😢
RIP
Wow... completely forgot about that cover. Good looking out. 👍
It was beautiful. You guys definitely need to react!
Yeah thanks for the reminder I also forgot about Cornell’s cover to Billie Jean.. RIP
I'll always remember this as the song from American Pie 2 in the scene where Jim superglued his hand to his ding ding. 🤣🤣🤣
“I’m glued”. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@andrealuyk1888 😂😂😂😂😂
Remember when he tried to turn the doorknob with his mouth? 😂
Same!!!
The amount of talent between the performers cinematographers producers directors even that little kid that's dancing is unbelievable
More proof music is Universal and builds bridges! Love and peace to all, always
Such a great cover. The bass player closes the deal with his background vocals
I'm the drummer's mother and yes I am partial, but it's so evident by everyone's reaction, I ask myself ,
how is it possible for them to be so underrated and unnoticed for so long?
These boys are musicians. their live shows are amazing, why they have a big following especially in Europe. They're so creative and talented, I promise you I don't care what genre of music or artist you listen to, whether it be Michael Jackson all the way down to Sade I promise you, there is going to be 1 or more songs you like.
They are not mainstream, They're so creative and humble & the definition of perseverance especially after the bus crash in Spain. They had just played Jay Leno after 9/11 they were promoting anthology. They're all lucky to be alive. Took them many years to recover Dryden was inches from being like Christopher Reeve and in fear of never being able to sing again. With that coupled with less or no promoting & airplay you basically don't exist hence why you never heard of.
There are so many talented bands that have slipped through the cracks as a result of the industry only giving airplay to the mainstream therefore deciding for us what to listen to. I don't care how bad a song is, played enough, 2 things will happen , either it's irritating or you love it & their banking on the latter.
So much more, if you get a chance, pull up the video "These days"
Fromthe BET Awards what's funny is my son used to play with Snoop Dogg we lived next door to one another ,their paths have yet to cross.
Thank you so much for all the good words and the rest of you for all the good comments.
By the way I stumbled on this, I'm a huge Blondie fan and loved watching y'alls reaction. Check out 311 great musicians.
The drummer did his THANG!!!🤑
I was honored enough to get to see one of their shows when they came to my town back in high school, it was without a doubt one of the best concerts I’ve ever seen. I’ve been an AAF fan since I was a kid. Much love ❤❤❤
Props to you mom. Boys love their mothers, or they should at least.
Omg I’m 40 and have been listening to 311 since I was 14, met the band when they were in Chicago at the Metro so it was a very small venue and this was like 99’🤩…. I got to take pics with them and they signed my CD (not their 1st CD cuz there are quite a few before their break out hit from their self titled album 311. Nick from 311 also found and produced Incubus
@@melissariley2661 311 was my daughter's favorite band. I remember at the Roxy they played with Incubus that's where they had their signing party as well.
Thank you for your kind words.
I love this because I was named after Michael Jackson in tribute to my oldest sister who died 3 months before I was born in a tragic train accident so MJ has always had a special place in my heart
The song is one of the best covers ever and the video is the GOAT tribute to MJ. Awesome react, guys!
I gotta say, They did my boi MJ....JUSTICE! Well done!
Love all the little cues, made a lot of references to thriller in the video too.
I fell in love with this song when it first came out. Very fun
This is the one on ;my playlist! NO ONE can do it like MJ, but I love the hardness!
Michael loved this video. It does rock.
I remember when this first came out. It till this day is one of my favorite remakes.
Brilliant cover !!
Brilliant music video !!
Fun and respectful
Excellent reaction
I agree they rocked the hell out of it! And Mel you are rocking the hell out of that hair baby !
Best MJ cover ever! So many MJ easter eggs in the video too. Great video.
You might enjoy 2 Cellos doing Sooth Criminal. Fun!
I love you two. You two are amazing people.
Always loved this version. And the video cracks me up. ♥️🤘
That was AWESOME 😎 Haven't heard that in YEARS.
They hit a bunch of visuals from a lot of his videos.
Thanks for not stopping the video every five seconds.
"how many MJ references do you want"?
AAF "YES"
I am a rural 52 yr old. I live your reactions .. I was moving with you. I am a rocker from wayyyyy back . I live this vid.
One of my fav covers and epic MJ tribute Easter Egg video.
All the little bits: the chimp, the walking on the multicolored square, the jumping on top of the car, the steam blowing up, the guys turning left and right with their hands as claws - all taken from MJ's music videos.
"They just rocked the HELL out of 'Smooth Criminal'!" Sums it up perfectly.
So many tributes to Michael in one video! You got to love it!!!!
❤️❤️❤️MJ!! RIP🙌🏽
Love the original and love this cover! One of those that is a classic on its own
Listen, they paid major props to Michael Jackson. A lot of people think this song was a parody. I grew up during this time, so I know it wasn’t. They are big fans of Michael Jackson and they did him right and let me tell you Michael Jackson loved this.
Unless they have already, Alien Ant Farm have GOT to see this !!! This was an awesome reaction !!!! 👍👍
If I'm not mistaken Michael's family asked alien ant farm to play this at his memorial. Mj loved their cover of it. I think he said "I like it as much if not even more than my version"
One of the best tribute remakes songs for MJ. All the way from the surgeon's masks to Thriller.!!!
Omg, Mel, you look amazing with that beautiful hair! ❤
The energy in this song is awesome
Love how you're feelin it right from the start.
lol.....always loved this version and video, love the old school MTV shirts guys
This was a fun and respectful tribute to the King of Pop... and your reaction was great!
P.S. Subscribed!
Hey John, thank you so much! We really enjoyed the video😀
Man yall should be proud!.. Yall's positive energy puts smiles on faces!.. When people are down on they luck, or had a bad day, yall got the smiles and good energy!. Lord knows it ain't that way all the time, that's just a testament to how loyal yall are to what your doing!.. It means alot to alot of people, so please dont stop, I love yal.
That was golden!
This video was so cool, remember getting the ring tone on my Nokia phone, geez im old
did you notice what was going on throughout this video? Every move, sound and visual, even the chimp are direct reference to all of MJ's videos and legacy.
They did this ****!!! They hit it all
Keep up the awesome work S&M! If you liked this video then you'll probably love 1985 from Bowling For Soup.
These guys put on one hell of a show.. I saw them years ago with 311....
I'm sure that kid dancing is a prophet warning us of coronavirus years before it happened.
Yeah, it was pretty sick :P
Watching this in 2021 is so throwback...
Movies is my favorite from them. You should do that one. The video is a trip too.
As a drummer: I approve this video, LOL!
Michael Jackson had personal approval over people who wanted to cover his music (or do parodies, like Weird Al). Alien Ant Farm went to Jackson personally to convince him to approve this cover, and according to Jackson's people, they literally played only the first three to five seconds of the song before Jackson stopped them and said, "This is going to be amazing!" And he loved the finished song.
I've noticed a lot of reaction channels have just now found this song.
So many tips of the hat to Michael. The silver glove as the chair, thriller references, michael's pet monkey, the car exploding, billy jean style shots with the split screen and sidewalk, the steam behind him, the legendary lean. Michael gave his seal of approval and legend has it showed up at one of AAF's concerts just to show his respects to their remake.
Hands down, best cover ever
That girl in the werewolf mask is my kind of girl. She also has a rockin body. This isn't rap, this contemporary rock.
That's a banger!🤘🏿
Awesome video. Thank for the encouragement
they nailed about a dozen MJ videos in that song. Really creative. And the Chimp, classic.
I like seeing all these videos that came out when I was in like high school
A lot of artists have said when sampling jackson 5 or michael's solo stuff, he always listened to it and would actually reach out to them if they did an exceptional job. He owns the publishing so he gets money regardless and the band/artist gets a hit record off his original music. everyone wins.
Fun Rock version of a bad song! It was really good and fun! Nice video y’all! Yeah they rocked it!
A couple other Rock cover songs of pop songs to check out. Seether's cover of Careless Whisper by George Michael. And an unknown cover of En Vogue's Song Don't Let Go by a band Deepfield. Both of these covers they band hit it out of the park.
Hey, brother Shawn and sister Mel! On vacation in Texas but still love your reactions and couldn't miss out😊. God bless!
I love how it's not just a redone song and the whole thing is a tribute to MJ...
What a GREAT tribute to MJ. All the easter eggs and nods.
LOVE your vibe!
Definitely a great tribute to MJ...this song gave people a different version and it’s cool. 😎❤️🎼
Nice one guys....lovin the hair, Mel!!
Thank you so much O JINIA Y
I still remember driving down the freeway, listening to the radio (106.7 KROQ) and after the song was over, the DJ came on and announced Micheal Jackson was dead. To be honest, I hadn't heard much of his music, I wouldn't even call myself a fan. But it was like hearing that a god had died. Micheal left behind one hell of a legacy and an army of people that were inspired by him.
Your Classic MTV Shirts rock 👍🏼
Thank you so much 😀
I remember when this came out. Didn't even know it was a cover at the time. Good stuff.
This is my sh**t!!! Love the tribute to Michael they did!!!!
alien ant farm - these days! invade the BET awards and play live on a roof top. shits amazing
Such a great tribute. MJ himself loved this song!
Keep doing ya'll thing guy's.
Hey y'all! Do a reaction to "Hook" by Blues Traveler
I concur! I haven't seen anyone do Blues Traveler yet. "Hook", "Runaround" and "But Anyway"
THANK YOU!!!
Dude, the Kid owned it. He was masked up before the pandemic
Love your reactions
A million and one MJ Easter eggs, great cover!
Movies by these guys is above average to say the least.
Little man killed it.
Listen, I am a fucking huge on Michael Jackson fan! As most people are, but I’m also a huge fan of rock heavy-metal all of that shit and let me tell you this song is bad ass and they did Michael justice
That kid in the yellow shirt dancing... who is that kid???? SKILLS!!! 😮👍🔥🔥🔥
