I read that at first he didn't like the kid dancing with the mask on, so they re-recorded it with the same kid without the mask and MJ felt the original version was better so they went with the kid wearing the mask. Not sure if that's true, but it's what I read.
They didn’t try to make a “better” version, they did their version with every possible reference and respect they could in the video. No one was mad when this came out. Everyone including Michael loved it and was jamming.
The song came to be almost by accident. At their gigs, the band's guitarist would play the guitar riffs from Smooth Criminal just to warm up. People liked it, so the band learned the full song and added it to their set list, eventually making it their breakout hit and gaining MJ's approval.
Just saw them live last week. They are still awesome live. Catch their show if you can. I didn't see at the last show, but they do a great live version of Billie Jean.
My favorite mj cover is Angelina jordans billy jean...not an alien ant farm fan but this is the only song I've ever heard from them they might be great...like this song
the easter eggs in this video are fast hard and long all puns intended lol........ somewhere in my pickled brain the whos and has are mj vocals dont quote me a read it somewhere
Nah he's innocent(most likely). He was definitely child like given his upbringing, but he started to speak out against the music industry and the evil industry before "they" hit him with child molestation accusations that he was found innocent of, and then they murdered him through his doctor before his big tour where he was really planning to out a lot of these bad people.
@@johnjohnnston3498 I don't know about all that but I do know when MJ died at least one of the kids came forward and said it never happened and he was forced by family to accuse MJ.
The late 90's and early 2000's were chock full of crappy nu-metal bands doing covers of 80's pop songs before sinking back into the obscurity from whence they came. AAF were merely another example.
Absolutely love this cover. However, i think the lead singer might be the most awkward, stiff person of all time in a music video 😂 The faces he pulls and the.. "dancing" he does just killd me
MJ loved this version and gave permission for the cover.........

@@thefluxcapacitor1 Yeah heard that too, for like a few weeks or months you only had the non-mask video on MTV and then suddenly the mask came back.
This is arguably one of the best covers ever made! They did him proud!
Michael loved their cover of his song. He gave it his thumbs up!!
This is definitely a great cover! With all the MJ easter eggs. What a great video! great reaction!
This shows how truly versatile Michael was as a songwriter and performer... And yes, rock dudes and metalheads love Motown and the Jacksons
Legit THE best cover of Smooth Criminal I’ve ever seen. MJ gave permission for them to record this and he liked this cover 🔥🔥
The bassist hitting the high notes is insane
in my opinion this is one of the BEST covers of any song ever.

Just saw them live last week. They are still awesome live. Catch their show if you can. I didn't see at the last show, but they do a great live version of Billie Jean.

@@johnjohnnston3498 Are you actually scouring the internet defending diddlers? Wow. Some people have no hobbies, I guess.
Keep telling yourself that
