@@EDMTips Has hard style changed like Progressive house over the last 20 years ie EDM americanised? kinda Gabba-Esque almost? Used to love the old skool "Hard/tech trance" from the likes of Picotto, had all the Green Nukleuz etc, Sturm und drang, Hypnobounce, Lava - Autumn, TAUB!!! Its to heavy for my old ass now but i'd love to try and recreate some of that more melodic none cheesy stuff from that era, oh the Nick sentience stuff too.

OMG, I wasted about £40 on a course that taught me how to make the rumbling techno sound. It was more complicated than your method. It's no Josh Wink, but man you are good. Not really sure Serum can recreate a 303 properly and you've not convinced me otherwise, but the track overall is lovely.

There is a never ending list of tracks to do :)
303 patches in Serum or any other multi-purpose synth don't come anywhere close to a TB-303. Use specialized 303 emulations like Audio Realism's ABL3, D16's Phoscyon 2, Roland's Cloud TB-303, Witech's Bass Matrix or Anton Savov's Venom VB-303 instead. - Take this information from somebody, who is specialized in producing Acid.

sorry noob question here. When making the 303 acid loop you set the scale so only the notes in that scale can been played, i dont seem to have that scale box when opening a midi clip????

You should definitely pay attention to David Moleon's (and many other Spanish musicians) hardgroove techno (with a lot of funk and disco flavour inside sometimes), it's so complicated to produce, but soooo energetic, fat and groovy.

Will, using the scale function on your DAW negates all the lovelyness
you find when going outside of the key. Cubase added it a while ago but it makes things pretty boring. Thoughts???

this is impossible to follow, ive pretty much given up on even trying to make something if i cant even follow along on how your doing half the stuff in this program. how did you even add in the hi hats like that. then imedieatly after you do something else and im lost again on how your doing it.
Probably best to start with an easier tutorial to get more comfortable with Ableton and its functionality first.

So frustrated trying to follow these tutorials. I keep getting stonewalled because you have plug ins I dont have that cost 100s of dollars. I downloaded the sample song and haf of the tracks are greyed out because i dont have the right plug ins. I also got stuck at the high hats. You have that track there from the start of your video it looks like a midi track so you can go in and create melodies. I have no idea how to do that, Ive tried everything. Has happened on multiple of your videos. Its like you skip showing how to get into certain areas of ableton so I have to pause, google search, spend half an hour reading through forums before I can continue. Maybe I am too much of a beginner, but I dont really know where else to start . I get an hour into the tutorial and then cant continue. Hoping there is an easy solution? Thanks
