    My Atlas Headrest arrives tomorrow (it took just under five weeks to ship, but two-day delivery so I'm good with it). Haworth also runs 10-15% sales a few times per year, which is when I jumped on one (early 2023).

      @@xAlbo94 I'm THRILLED with it. I knew I wouldn't like the Haworth one, so I skipped it, and am glad that I did. I got the cushioned version for the Fern, and it's marvelous. Very flexible, ridiculously easy to install (I followed Dan's recommendation of connecting the two pieces BEFORE attaching it to the chair), and it's comfortable beyond my expectation. Money very well spent (for my personal tastes). Prior to that, I was using a pool-noodle type, which was okay but only effective when I dropped my head back (looking up at the ceiling). With the Atlas, I can use it for all scenarios, and it's MUCH more comfortable than the noodle.

      @@RobertoOrtis No structural damage - it's a clip on (similar to what Crandall's doing). Depending on how careful and patient you are (neither are my strongest suit), you MIGHT have some minor scratching where the two screws go in. OLS did put a little rubber thingie over the screwheads, so if you're careful, you shouldn't even have that. Suffice it to say that I have one side that scratched a tiny bit. 😂 It's not an issue for me - I can't really tell unless I specifically look for it. I have a Fern without digital knit and without added lumbar bubble (I got a good deal on it). I think the digital knit is way nicer and if you like having some real lumber support then get that, too. I had to roll up some foam and shove it into the lower back of the chair to get enough support. A really good chair, but at 5'11" the seat pan is not really long enough for me, sliding it out opens a gap in the back and takes your "sitting bones" out of the sweet spot in the seat pan. For people less tall this is a really great chair. Thumbs up!

    • @Ahnestly
      @Ahnestly  5 месяцев назад

      One of the guys at BTOD now prefers the digital knit fern to the embody because he can take the lumbar out of the fern and finds it less aggressive than the embody. I have a strong feeling I am in the same boat (though bought the embody before trying the fern, cos it seemed perfect to me in the HM showroom and preferred the styling). Just goes to show really have to sit in these chairs for a decent time to fully know how it's gonna fit you.

      I had the good fortune to try out a bunch of Ferns, most of which didn't have the optional lumbar, only 2 chairs did. I didn't feel a huge difference, tbh, but I did prefer the added lumbar (I'm old, with a slightly bad back). I can see why someone could prefer the back without the added lumbar, as not having it makes the back of the chair more flexible.

      That's how I bought mine, too! 2 years ago, it was $305 tagged, so $323 after Michigan tax. Mine has the headrest, added lumbar, digital knit, and steel base. It JUST barely fit into the back seat of my Chevy Cruze, had to lift the legs up and put them in first to be able to fit. (Wouldn't fit in the trunk, because of the legs).
      Mine still had all the new chair tags on it, only thing I can find wrong with it is the arms aren't quite symmetrical, left arm juts out slightly more than right arm.

    This is an excellent chair, but in Europe they ask for 1500 euros for it, at the same time in America you can buy it for 1000 euros, this is a significant price difference. Also, in Europe there are no used and refurbished chairs, no one sells them, in America, you can find a used chair for less than 700 euros in excellent condition......And a very interesting situation with discounts in Europe: there are none :( I've been wanting to buy this chair for a long time, but apparently, it wasn't my destiny.If anyone has any recommendations on what kind of chair to buy from $500 to $800 in terms of ergonomics Haworth Fern.

    I was on the search for another chair as I felt that the Aeron was a bit too relaxed for me and was better lounging than providing me a seating position that is more upright and "productive". Still love the Aeron though and have it in my gaming room. Maybe there is a quality control issue for the Haworth Ferns in Canada but I decided to give it a try and ended up having to go through three returns with issues due to damage on shipping, Fabric fraying on the digital knit and both chairs after the first one had loose armrests which I thought by ordering the Aluminum build would correct that issue mentioned online (it didn't). I did give it a try though and sat on the chairs for maybe a total of 40 work hours before deciding that it wasn't worth the money just due to how the build quality was. Actual seating performance was great but for $1500 Cad it wasn't worth it imo. I went off of Dan's recommendation in his previous videos on the Embody and forked up the additional $300 and do not regret it one bit.
    It's weird because the Embody has so much more plastic but it feels so much more well built. Depending on where you are and the pricing for between the chairs, I would still recommend the Embody despite it being $300 more!

    I bought the Haworth fern. Unfortunately after a week its going back. 6 ft 3. The seat pan isn't long enough. The digital net is a little bit scratchy and really locks you into place compared to my old leather chair. It does feel a bit odd being wider than the chair at the top as it tapers up. It's a c+. I keep it if it wasn't $1,250. There are too many negatives at that price point.

      I was sweating the choice of going with the lumbar support. Definitely get it. It is the least aggressive lumbar support that I've ever experienced. I've never used lumbar previously this was perfect.

      @@Ahnestly Digi Tweed is a premium fabric option for the Fern.
      It is highly textured, yet not scratchy on sensitive skin; comes with a stain repellant finish; is decently breathable; and is about 50/50 recycled polyester.

      Did you sit on or use other Fabrics? I know different Fabrics can tremendously impact the stiffness or softness of chair cushion? I have Tellure Fabric on my Fern and it appears to breathable and not scratchy.

    • @Nersius
      @Nersius 5 месяцев назад +1

      @@thewhitewolffl Tellure was actually the favorite fabric of the employees at the store I went to.
      Despite working on commissions and it being the cheapest option, they pushed it a lot, even with their corporate clients.
      IMO Tellure feels like an elevated version of a foam office chair seat whereas Digi Tweed feels like a premium fabric recliner/sofa.
      Tried the leather option too, but I live in a hot area, so that was an instant no.
