    Since i purchased my 4080 i dont even check frames anymore. Just run max on all the maps in flatscreen 1440 and don't worry about it. Great card for dcs!!

    Nice improvement. I too am rocking a new rig. This is the first time I have had a liquid cooled PC. Not because it's rad looking (it is that too!) but the power this thing generates would overheat in no time. I am running a Gamemax GM 2000W power supply just to power it all! Two nVidia 3090 cards running in parallel...I won't bore you with the rest of the specs. You could buy a nice car for what I have in this monstrosity. But, I have struggled with cheap, midrange PC's since the 90's and I said no more. DCS runs like a movie it's so smooth and rich. But others too, like MSFS 2020, Prepar3D, X-Plane 11...they all are ran with every slider to the right and it runs so good. I am very pleased with it. I am attempting to make my first DCS cinematic to show off what's possible. Like you're doing here. I suck at it right now, wish I had your video editing skills! I am learning though. Liked and subbed

    Some advice for you. I play on an 85" (60Hz) OLED with a 14900K & 4090. Until I upgrade to an 85" VRR (variable refresh rate) OLED or Mini-LED television, 60Hz is the max my display will go at 4K. If 60fps, is you frame floor then go into Nvidia Control Panel and lock your FPS to 58fps and the game will be buttery smooth. You won't see those jutters and stutters when your framerate plummets like that. Of course, if your monitor is VRR, disregard; however, 170 frames when you're flying high above the ocean is just heating your room and maxing out your electricity bill. 🤗

    • @MeanStreakGaming
      @MeanStreakGaming  8 месяцев назад

      Yeah I plan on keeping it at 60fps, just for recording and editing purposes

    165 hertz monitor and solid 165 fps with 32gb 3200mhz, i5-13400f, rtx 3070 ti (w/ optimized setting, ultra-ish). maybe I'll upgrade when the 6000 series comes out or something.

      Yeah I've been meaning to do the SE cold start just to check, haven't gotten around to it yet.
      As for my settings, everything on the absolute max, it doesn't go any higher. Also using DLSS on quality setting.

    You may want to look at putting a visible FPS counter up so the viewers can actually see what the FPS is, as you will find the actual number will move all over the place, minimum, maximum, average over the different maps. There is many different ways to do a FPS counter, there is not just one. Ctrl + pause activates the DCS fps counter. It is good to see things like CPU usage, GPU usage too. Also its a good idea to show the settings menu in DCS so we can see your graphics settings, it lets people compare and also learn something. FPS will change a lot depending on the module or plane you use, so you could also show multiple modules. It is good that you showed the monitor that you are using "Alienware 34'' OLED 3440x1440" as that also has a really big impact on the FPS results. I presume that is the "ALIENWARE 34 CURVED QD-OLED GAMING MONITOR - AW3423DW" which has a max refresh rate of 175 Hz. You could just mention the monitor refresh rate as well. Happy the game is working well for you!

    • @MeanStreakGaming
      @MeanStreakGaming  8 месяцев назад

      I did think of that later, sharing the settings. And as for the fps counter, that thing is tiny, and would be to all for anyone to see at 4k

    Thanks for giving us a peek at your performance and congratulations on your new rig. Friendly advice: when you do this type of video add the FPS counter so we can see how it changes as you go. That way you don't have to tell us.

    Cap it at about 80 or 90 the 1% lows should be at around -8fps from your locked in 80-90fps you’ll use considerably less power and will have. A more consistent frame rate. I would not cap it at 60 though or even 70. Also are you running DLSS? Msaa etc?

      Price was actually not too bad. I got Black Friday deals on everything except the GPU. And there are no plans for a new rig in the foreseeable future. If I used a laptop for 10 years and a low range rig for 5 years, this PC master race rig will last me the next decade.

      What about them?

    • @cykalandon8635
      @cykalandon8635 7 месяцев назад +1

      Max graphics makes spotting worse in DCS. It's highly impractical to play with max settings because it impairs your ability to see targets. That's why so many people don't play at 4k but at 1080p because dots are bigger. @@MeanStreakGaming

    • @MeanStreakGaming
      @MeanStreakGaming  7 месяцев назад +1

      That used to be the case. Far away targets used to be 1 pixel, and good luck playing at 4k. But since DCS 2.9, far away targets are rendered in actual size, not one pixel anymore. And I've noticed a big difference in spotting bandits.

    Im running a 4090, R7 7800x3d, 2x16gb corsair vengence. Hp reverb g2 and 90% of dvs settings are maxed out in DLSS 2.9.2 and i get 50ish fps low level and 85 to 90 at 30 000 feet.
    How on earth do you get 100 fps low level ?

    • @MeanStreakGaming
