  • The Ironmaster IM2000 Self Spotting Machine is much more than a Smith Machine. It is one of the most innovative pieces of gym equipment on the market.
    It is not just the long list of exercises that Lee Priest demonstrates in this video that makes it unique. It is the fact that it packs all this in a 130cm x 130cm footprint with a weight load capacity of 1000lbs! Try finding another machine that can do all of that.

    Lee, I just pulled the trigger today and got the IM 2000 and Super Bench. So many exercises can be done on the IM 2000, while it's foot print is so small compared to other machines. I love that it is high quality, great design, and American made. Thanks Lee for your quality videos. Without them I would not have bought this machine.

    Just received the new version of the free weight barbell holders and spotting arms. I have the old version of the free weight barbell hooks which took too long to set.
    A year later of having this machine and I'm still amazed of the quality, and how versatile it is in such a compact size. I still have a gym pass and use it on my lunch breaks from work but would rather use this machine at home along with the IM dumbells for the most part. People make fun of Smith machines but In a typical Smith you can't do free weight barbell or cable exercises like you can do with the im 2000. This is real gym equipment made for home use because of its compact size and versatility.
    Especially this machine and IM products have become a real commodity in reselling on Craigslist, it's like a very valuable collection to those who have IM products. The buyers and sellers I dealt with already have an IM product and want the whole ecosystem. Once a ad is up its already sold before it's posted and it really keeps its value. Once you have one IM product your gonna want the whole IM ecosystem.

At a guess, I think the slide rails have been painted black to help with making the machine even smoother and I guess prolong the life of the bushings too. I do prefer the look of the older model also but in the flesh the black does look very nice! 😎

    • @Fitforacting
      @Fitforacting 4 года назад

      Jas Web you can do it from the floor if you want or on a bench with a slight decline. You will put the safety stops where ever you want to start the exercise so probably In a bent knee position. Then using your foot you can stop at any position you want and use your hands to adjust the stoppers to change the depth of the movement

      @@Fitforacting cheers for your feedback bro 😎 I was going to get the IM2000 but recently changed my mind on what I’d prefer for home use. I currently have the IM dumbbells, pro bench and some attachments though and I really rate their equipment. What has me interested in the leverage system is I’m a big fan of plate loaded machines and this type of machine seems to fit the bill for home use. I’ve come across the ATX version which actually looks like a better version of the powertec. I have a Olympic bar and budget style rack so it’s only the smith part of the IM2000 that I’d be benefiting from as the leverage gym has the high and low pulley also. I’m still deciding as in the UK everything is still out of stock but I am looking at either type of machine so appreciate your input 💪🏻

      @@Fitforacting cheers man 😎 I know, it’s been tough, I only just acquired my IM dumbbells and bench not long before Xmas and had been trying to get them both around April last year. It’s been rough, but I’m happy that I can now train at home. A machine of some type with cables would just take it to the next level, especially in these uncertain times. This pandemic has been a lesson that it’s crucial to have equipment at home that you can use at any time.

    • @Fitforacting
      @Fitforacting 3 года назад

      @@powerplanthomegym just get a cable system with 2 pulley. You can even use your IM dumbbells as the resistance for the pulley system. PRX PERFORMANCE has some cool videos of doing it at home. Especially since you already have a rack. I have my IM dumbbells since 2007 then sold them during the pandemic for $200 more dollars than what I paid and bought a brand new set in July. I have almost every pice of equipment IM makes. The only ones I don’t have are cable tower, IM1500, or the Db spotting stand
