    Put this in the petition:
"This Bill should be withdrawn until such time the state can publish the total cost to Massachusetts taxpayers, of the litigation / lawyer cost during the next 10 years of fighting for the dozens of unconstitutional laws that are included in the bill".
Why is the State house doing this lawfare? Because: Kickbacks.

It's funny, because H.4885 is 95% of the original HD.4420 that drew an unprecedented amount of backlash from Massachusetts residents last summer - so much so that the "house leadership" had to punt on the bill. Those like myself who have followed this process know this bill was not written by the legislature. It is so bad, that the legislature was forced to go dark. And when the compromise was reached, had to ram the final vote through in under 12 hours, before anyone could read it. It horrendous and violates at least 5 Supreme Court rulings - but hey, don't get caught up on that - it's now legal for you to buy ammo with an EBT card.

A person cannot just disagree with a law in order to sue in Court. One must have standing, and in this type of situation, it means some form of damages must have occurred, such as seizure or due process violation, loss of liberty, other damages from the application of a constitutionally vague statute.

What you are missing here is what's happening in the federal courts, especially the Supreme Court. There have been a series of challenges to restrictive guns laws across the country that are bringing the question of the constitutionality to the courts. Many of them are being overturned. The Supreme court is waiting for these lower court rulings to make their way through the system and then will rule on the constitutionality of all these laws. So far the good guys are winning. Massachusetts HR4855 is so poorly written and grossly unconstitutional that it will be overturned. Also many of the previous Massachusetts laws will be found unconstitutional and tossed out. You will be able to purchase an AR-15 legally in Massachusetts, just have patience.

    Hello Kristin, 7-31-24
Is there any word yet as to whether or not the old/prior training criteria will/can still be used until the State Police roll out the new training criteria after 8/1? And would the old criteria be valid for 90 days after the bill is signed or valid for as long as it takes for the new criteria to come out?
