People loved bashing Robert Kelly for throwing in a bunch of "fucking" and "uhs" and just sounding stupid when he talks but Opie is so far worse for someone who was legitimately in radio for 20 years.
Perfect example: when they start talking an Kinison passing, Bob Kelly calmly asks Opie if he knew Sam... The great Opie says he interviewed him and how great he was to lead the conversation to another dead end conversation. Then Bob Kelly just says "really?" And Opie knowing he has nothing or probably NEVER met him goes into his annoying whining voice "YEAH HES A GREAT GUY!!" and the lying rat goes to Kelly's plugs to avoid any more questioning.. Opie really is the worse with zero talent
Bobby is a legitimately funny and talented guy, same with Vos; they handled getting trashed with class and had funny lines. Opie was just a radio hack who understood the business and was smart enough to surround himself with funny people. To be fair, he was funny on very, very rare occasions but in general he was an awkward bully who couldn't tell the difference between mean-funny and the sensitive/aggressive/weird thing that he did.
