compromise needs to happen
This is the essence of true love. Whenever true love is present, there is willingness to compromise. Great advice in relationships. Ofc Don’t compromise your core values for someone who isn’t willing to compromise for you.
Praise be to daddy roshi for pollinating our minds with his ever immaculate knowledge.
Cobra kai please
@@YaBoyRoshi react to cobra kai s6 first part!🔥
i need to see the boys ep 8
Hierarchy is a good 7 episode k drama
That mangaka argument felt like a shounen artist arguing with a seinen one 😂
“Yo shit gets one chapter a month, it don’t even sell!”
“Well yo shits weekly cuz it’s mainstream trash, it’s predictable!”
Lowkey🤣
Nice to know the authors can have the exact argument like their readers 😂😂😂
Nah but for real how does a human being pump out a freshly drawn chapter every week manga artists are insane
They're truly cut from a different cloth...either that or years and years of practice
the funny thing is, aka akasaka (the onk author) had 2 weekly series with onk and kaguya sama when this arc came out
Meanwhile oda pumping out weekly chapters for 25 years🗿
They are just like that
@@RKingdom05Aka Akasaka had his kaguya-sama workflow figured out. Im pretty sure he had a folder of assets like faces, items and poses he was just taking from and pasting in and cleaning up after. Thats why he got to play Apex so god damn much lol
True friendship is being able to tell each other "you're trash! 🤬" but still helping them out 😂
its peak friendship
The most hype battle in Oshi no ko: trashing on friends
I used to work as a Project Manager for a publishing firm. Most of the time, authors do not know how to convey ideas and feedback to line editors, graphic artists who do the book covers, marketing people, etc. I’ve also done creative work, and if someone like Abiko gave me feedback the way she does, it’d negatively affect my work. The resentment from being yelled at would be too distracting. Look at how devastated GOA looked last ep. Hence why middlemen are necessary; to make it easier for both ends of the creative process to work.
BUT three middlemen? That’s fucking too much and redundant. Either just retain one dude or have both the Abiko’s editor and GOA’s manager in one room.
Like, look up the Genshin Impact vid “Behind the Scenes of the Music of Inazuma”. They had all the middlemen in one room as they relayed comms between the composer and the conductor.
thats actually crazy, thanks for your input
so yeah for Lupa asking, stage around Tokyo is a real theatre and it really does the 360 floor thing. But this is the only theatre in the entire world who does this
Not true, first one was built in Holland. And they’re working on building them in London and Las Vegas. The ImagineNation site has some info on Stage Around technology.
i wonder how much a ticket would cost
@@grifffaustand sadly the one in Tokyo has been closed. Sadge.
I love how much Akane loves her work. Its always so nice to see someone who's passionate about their work and her DRIP
Fr like she's always got the best drip in most of the scenes she's in
but i like her hair more during season 1.
And yh the weekly manga grind is so intense that some mangaka injure themselves to get time off so they don't completely break
Yea that's what happened to Kubo-sensei and he unfortunately had to rush to wrap up Bleach
@@junglekxngtalksanime He wanted that arc to last 10 years and damn even if the drawing looked nice nothing was happening in most chapters. He needed to rush for a weekly serialization.
@@spoiledbrat3929damn, u're probably not an artist
@@0Clewi0 I seriously doubt that 10 years part but I do think he wanted to include a lot but couldn't because of time
@@junglekxngtalksanime I mean, the 10 year thing was from an interview at the beginning of the arc well before he was told to stop, and the pace was slow enough for me to believe it was possible
No Roshi has a point
The problem was There was a back and forth between them through editors and managers and by the time it got to Goa it wasnt what she said so she was getting pissed
When she showed up she never actually gave him instructions on what to fix she simply berated him, they never had proper dialogue back and forth
What they need is proper Do it like this, I can't do it like this what about this, that might work but lets add this
the same way you are talking back and forth, Goa and Abiko never did she simply called him trash and that no one did what she said but he assumed the instructions he got were what she said
It was all miscommunication
Yeah, it's a two part problem. You have to get them communicating, and you have to get her to realise that Goa is worth communicating with again.
but always remember those middle-man is actually useful because if they're not there, it would be impossible to get any information from the mangaka or to make the rewriter start rewriting because everyone has their own schedule. the middle-man is like smart folder. they ask the mangaka when the mangaka is free (downloading the files into the folder) and they tell the script writer when he's done with the previous job (sending file inside that smart folder automatically)
i made up the smart folder thing, there's never anything like smart folder that automatically programmed to give the file you wanted but, i know you get the point why i give stupid example like that. middle-man is like folder full of information that timed when they have time to read it and seems empty when they're busy so they're not stressed out or getting too much information at once.
I don't think people really realize that many mangaka don't have time even for a "simple phone call". There is legitimately no time in their schedules to do anything besides work in many cases especially for popular properties. For us in the west we have well defined work hours and aren't expected to stay any longer or put more in unless we're to get something out of it. The manga industry however doesn't care about your personal life or wellbeing it only cares that you get the chapters out when they're supposed to be out. It's an industry that has a large amount of suicide attempts for a reason.
specifically weekly mangaka, Yoriko mentioned and Abiko alluded to, being monthly gives you far more free time
and you people act like these mangaka doesn't know the challenges. Stop.
some are just workaholics, like they had to force Oda to fucking take a break.
@@Kaimax61 No one is saying they don't. However the pressures put on them from the publications they work with is astronomical. And the Japanese work culture is so much different then anything you see in the west that even when things are horrible people in Japan will almost never talk about it. It has to get to the level of mass suicide attempts for people to talk about it in Japan. It's why most of the discourse and advocacy for animators and mangaka happen here in the west and not in Japan. It's only as of recently with studio Mappa that we've seen people in Japan speak up about these topics and not be immediately fired and ignored.
@@Kaimax61 knowing what comes with it still doesnt undermine how shitty it is, people still become idols knowing how fanatic idol worshipers can be because thats the only choice they have
@@huntersuper98 It's not as recent as you think. People have been discussing the horrible work conditions at large for a very long time.
Cloverworks got Wonder Egg Priority's director hospitalized twice due to exhaustion in 2021. Madhouse had one guy go through 200 hours of unpaid overtime in 2019. A1 Pictures drove a production assistant to suicide back in 2010.
I'm happy that people are more aware of the anime industry's horrible conditions, thanks to MAPPA.
Dragonball Z for better and for worse was heavily affected by the editors. It's really fascinating to go into all of the changes, but a big one was the editor didn't like the Androids as villains saying "they're just some bratty kids" so Toriyama came back with Cell which led to arguably the best arc in DBZ.
dont forget the cell issues
"he's just a bug"
Secondform
"he's kinda ugly"
Perfect form
I'm also pretty sure its thanks to the android saga having so many interuptions for what toriyama planned that the buu arc is such a mess, which is ironic because he had to stop and go so much with the android saga yet its the saga that doesnt actually feel like its disjointed, while the buu arc that toriyama had full creative liberty on really fumbles around the middle after goku returns to otherworld until Kid buu shows up and then it feels solid structurally again
You can clearly feel the passion and frustration of Akasa through all the commentary on making manga this episode. I'm glad this show is bringing awareness to how much effort goes in these productions
13:33 I love that the manga has so many tabs/annotations also seen in the flashback, shows how much inspiration she took from Sweet Today
Oshi no Ko is one of those shows that goes by so damn fast
That notification bell comes in handy
This episode made me felt like this probably what Mappa had to go through. The constant fight and in-demand for reputation and to make the audience happy can get very toxic.
Like the genuine concern after Ruby celebrated being in Playboy😭🤣
It's not like playboy here in the west. The playboy and playgirl mags over there are G rated content. 😅
@@User_Unknown86 yea I thought so😅🤣
3:33 they do have a stage play like this in real life in japan. Its just that its a seasonal thing
Really digging your videos, keep it real!
sometimes you need one of your friends to pull up and let you know if your shit is trash
Lupa is right the episode is over before you know it!
This episode was a very clever and effective way to criticize the manga industry. I loved it
I loved that scene between the two mangaka in the manga and im glad it hit in the adaptation. i mean the whole adaptations been super good but its one of my favorite scenes
Richest mappa employee working conditions
I love that Sweet Tody wasn't just a case plot point that is moved on from after it's finished and that's it. It comes back and stays alive through the characters.
Yh not the same playboy. Mainly geared towards young boys so yh there a couple of pinup girls and other stuff young boys gear towards like bands and media
Meanwhile Oda-sensei pumping chapters weekly for 25 years 😂😂😂
Man Raida is spitting facts, watching people react to a show is really fun. That's why I'm here in the first place LMAO
On today's peak epsiode: the truth behind a mangaka's schedule, pain, and why dragging the story is bad😅
There is a manga called Bakuman drawn by the author of Death Note that makes it easy to understand the manga artist's production status. It details the process of making his debut in Weekly Shonen Jump and becoming a weekly manga artist. There is another anime called Shirobako that depicts the behind-the-scenes of how animation studios produce anime. You can see that both manga and anime are produced in a fairly black environment. The worst case scenario for a manga artist is that even just one person can draw, but when you become a popular author, there are other things you need to do, so Abiko's situation is crazy, and it's the same as sacrificing her life to create.
I thought the friendship was done at the 50 mil copies comment. Instead it became my favorite scene in the show so far. Fantastic writing and direction
I don't know how Sheera forgot this (because she literally quoted it last episode), but Abiko, the mangaka, stated verbatim that she was fine with them cutting or altering storylines, just not tampering with the characters. Where did she get the idea that Abiko wanted the stage play to be exactly like her manga?
3:15 Yes, IHI Stage Around Tokyo is a real place. Or at least it was until it closed.
11:37 fandoms when it comes to shipping characters in all media, this is all too familiar, I love this show for it’s realism to the fandom and creators
Shera is right, just remove the game of telephone and just put them in a room together to talk,
yea talking isnt her strong suit but it got way worse thanks to the passing through like 6 people
It would have been a good solution but for them, the telephone game is forced because all those people in the middle are supervisors, producers, sponsors, etc which would want to make sure that they earn more than they give
@@krusher737 Not only that, but it ends up delaying things a lot, since both people would technically have to work out a time to meet/talk. The game of telephone happens not just because of what you said (though that is a big part), but because people want to work at the earliest convenience, rather than having to wait a month for both people to be free lol. Logistically, it's the easiest solution, but not necessarily the best one.
10:03 dunno if it was just cut out or not but another aspect of that perfectionist mentality that Sheera mentioned is shown with Abiko drawing everything with ink, despite the fact that it's significantly more time consuming and risky while the end result is minimally different
When they were talking about editors and long mangas, I thought of 3 people: Eiichiro Oda, Yoshihiro Togashi, and George Morikawa
13:02 From what I gather it has gotten a lot better in recent years partially thanks to Computer and Tech allowing Artists to speed up a lot of the things that would previously take three assistants four days to do. Letting them handle other things.
It is still a very mentally and physically draining job. Editors are a hit or miss (I can name five WSJ series which are assumed to have died solely thanks to Editor incompetence ((RIP Red Hood))) and many series don't last a year if they're not popular.
I can't wait for this season to come out on blueray so I can just watch it 1000 more times.
stage around theater existED until last year.
As far as twitter goes, I’ve only seen like 10s of Thousands of people actually talking about the new season. Compared to last year that’s gotta be WAY less.
If there ARE a lot more people talking about it on other platforms. Please let me know.
Maybe because so far second season gives normal plot that related to real life. It's like a multimedia version of Shirobako. I think the murder plot, reincarnation and revenge plan has roling major factor for first season to be booming.
Additionally, it seems the idol arc on the first season was not really booming, thought. I don't think this is spoiler but I read some discussion about an arc or plot on the manga that would be huge if it gets anime adaptation. We will not getting it in season two. If third season contains that story maybe the discussion will going more.
@@SB-hw7hp facts
A lot of the English speaking fanbase just lost interest/dropped the show bc of a plot line that happened in the manga. When certain revelations or big events happen they'll probably drum up attention but ONK is pretty much a persona non grata anime and the eng fanbase dead (very small). Season 1 level of hype isn't gonna be seen on twt again unless maybe the finale (for better or worse).
whenever Lupa says "that's it?" i know it's a good episode
Last episode had me fuming for the screenwriting if she fumbled the new crunch for time rewrite but I'm hoping they'll work together now 🙏
That fight back and forth while drawing was *chef's kiss*, their friendship is sweet and must've resonated with a bunch of mangakas/creatives out there (also I know girlie was like 2 months away from jumping to make snow angels on concrete with that schedule/ no social life)
Ps I heard yesterday that Oda sees his wife and kids like once a week and they don't live together WHAT 😭
Yoriko sensei is so cool for that
10:35 Speaking of black clover, have yall never reacted to the anime or what 😭
I can't compare to Mangaka but having editors in your ears constantly trying to change what you love is taxing 😂 hence why I only have one now
I just gotta say, the intro at 1.5 speed is fire
The Playboy published in Japan is not what you might imagine.
Great reaction!
I like the touch that the 2 mangaka own each other's manga.
Sheera can be so stubborn that it’s painful listening to her i wish she could listen to the other two’s input sometimes because what Roshi said makes sense. She always thinks she’s super right and keep analysing during the episode.
12:59 I had the same look when he asked
9:12 I thought she said "Wifi" instead of Wit 😂
You can't spell Goated without GOA
@yaboyroshi the first part of the final season of cobra kao came out, will you guys react to it?
roshi i swear if u don’t react to the boys finale or cobra kai season 6 is gonna cry
Sheera didn't quite get that the conflict at the rehearsal happened because not only were there expectations that clears got missed, but the mangaka came in there believing her editor that her requests were getting heard. Thinking that your collaborator hear and acknowledged your requests, and yet you end up disliking the product, probably feels like you got shat upon. I've been there, and I'm super hella chill about stuff, but even I have lost my damn mind in thise situations.
If the communication had actually happened, the issue would not have been nearly as hostile.
what days you react to the boys cuz this finale ep was crazy Edit: nvm yall react on fridays

Roshi using sheeragan for future eps this video
Well...even to most points made, it becomes compromise to be compromised in the expectations. In Western Culture, specifically when it comes to book or comic adaptations, it tends to be market standard measured by media value. Has anyone kept count of how many failed serializations there have been from Shonen Jump->Anime just from Authors, Editors, or the publications saying they simply can't do it anymore? "The Perfect _________" has been a curse that has actually destroyed entire series and people who could not manage to be transparent to those standards. Communication can't just be this convenience where give & take does not consider the reality of succeeding. The process, "Adaptation", happens the way it does for certain manga/shows because it has to collaborate into one finished result, regardless of critique.
Cobra Kai S6 Part 1 came out today..I need those reactions please

Cobra Kai season 6 please
React to cobra Kai season 6
tokyo ghoul, promised neverland and nanatsu are good examples of why the author is still in the right here, imo
In this specific situation, the writer is completely in the wrong though. She was being an asshole to someone who wasn't even a tiny bit at fault and who has big appreciation for her work. Being a great manga artist does not mean you deserve to be an asshole to someone and does not mean that you know how to write a script for a play instead of manga when you don't even know how the industry works
