My sister has been saying it would be an epic anime. I was not prepared for the freight train that would hit me ( You three are def my favorite youtubers. Your dynamic when it comes to these things are noice )
Unfortunately I don't think this comment will reach y'all but I'll say it anyway: The title of this show is a really really clever wordplay. An "oshi" is the word used to designate your favorite member of a group. And "ko" can mean person/girl/child. So "oshi no ko" can either mean "favorite girl" (of an idol group) OR it can mean "the children of my favorite" so the children of the person you stan. It's such a genius title because the beginning of the show really makes you think that we'll follow Ai through her career and how she'll learn to love, but in the end, the real protagonists are her kids. Thus: "Oshi no ko"
THE TIMING !! I literally just finished the first episode and i was praying to god that yall got them to react to this , cant wait to watch this after my gym sesh 🤝🏽
I’m at 25:29 and I have to say this has been such a cute and wholesome idol show so far! I had to pause real quick to type this but I can’t wait to see how this wholesome first episode ends!
I was not expecting this anime to be that great, wtf. I'm still flabbergasted until now. This will be a great show, I'm thanking my friend for recommending this. I told him, "Im not into music anime, bro, remember?" "Yeah, you're a drama guy, but watch it. I swear bro, this anime is so good," he said. Yeah, here I am. Watching youtuber reactor on what they will feel and reaction. 😊
The fact that she said maybe they can all watch that video over drinks when they get older and how earlier in the episode they were talking about how she wasn't even old enough to drink yet and then she died. Makes that shit even more sad. "Maybe we can watch this over drinks" and homegirl died before she could even drink yet.
I love the sparkle Ai and her kids have and how they show the idol or "it" status with that sparkle. Ai had the sparkle prior but it was dark when the agent talked to her about becoming an idol. Her twins only have the sparkle in one eye and after she died Aqua's sparkle was dark like hers was before she became an idol.
Ai's death was so sad but I saw it coming unfortunately, definitely didn't make it any less sad though. The part that really made me tear up a little though was when the president's wife told the kids she'd take care of them in Ai's place as she thought of them as her own children. She didn't have to do that, but it was clear that she grew to love the kids and it seems like the same can likely be said of the children to her. She had some really good development in this one episode, from not wanting anything to do with her husband and Ai and the kids, to bettering her relationship with all three and then stepping in to take the kids in as her own officially after their tragic loss. Now that we've lost Ai, I hope at least she makes it through to the end of the series.
As a manga reader, you guys better be ready for this amazing series When I saw the first episode, I instantly wasn't prepared for the emotions that I had to go through throughout the whole episode. This is going to be the anime of the year

The title "OSHI NO KO" can be interpreted several ways in Japanese. One is "My Favorite Idol", another "The Child of My Favorite Idol". It is a well-crafted title considering what will happen.
I still can:t believe how hard they went withthe art and animations for this show. Esp. with the Ai death scene and animated oil painting looking thing with Aqua’s eye at the end

I appreciated how truthful the story is to the idol industry too. Especially in Eastern Asia countries like Japan and Korea the idol industry is brutal as hell. Some contracts even require idols to stay single through their career, and stalking issues reach unstable heights there too.
Even virtual idols experience such things like stalking. I remember that whole issue with AKB48 i believe where one of the girls shaved her head and made an apology video for being seen with a guy

This is by far one of the most beautiful and captivating first anime for a episode I've watched in a while, I can't wait for the next episode.
What the fuck
bro why do you do this to me
HAHAHAHHA
I cried after waiting two years for this to be animated but that “shit she’s dead bro” got me 😂
the way the animators make all the colors blend together and pop out is INCREDIBLE
32:38 the editing was slick, Ai teleported like a dbz character
I was not expecting this anime to be that great, wtf. I'm still flabbergasted until now. This will be a great show, I'm thanking my friend for recommending this.
I told him, "Im not into music anime, bro, remember?"
"Yeah, you're a drama guy, but watch it. I swear bro, this anime is so good," he said.
Yeah, here I am. Watching youtuber reactor on what they will feel and reaction. 😊
It was a rollercoaster of emotions, haven't cried so much in a while because of anime since To Your Eternity.
“ nah he’s dead, your alive “ got me laughing😂
I've been waiting for this one, can't wait to see y'all react to the PAIN
18:33
'lick the baking soda' → '重曹を舐める(jyusou wo nameru)'
'cry in 10 seconds' → '十秒で泣ける(jyubyou de nakeru)'
This show already made me cry 😭😭 BUT IT SEEMS ENJOYABLY SO FAR!! CANT WAIT TO SEE YOUR REACTIONS!!!
Went into this blind about half an hour ago. Two things I can say about this is I wasn’t prepared for this at all and I’m definitely sold on this.
The fact that she said maybe they can all watch that video over drinks when they get older and how earlier in the episode they were talking about how she wasn't even old enough to drink yet and then she died. Makes that shit even more sad. "Maybe we can watch this over drinks" and homegirl died before she could even drink yet.
that dang on video when she said "we're going to start with 2 eggs in our Doritos bag" had me wheezing
lupa was never ready for sad scenes
Made a grown man cry 😢
I love the sparkle Ai and her kids have and how they show the idol or "it" status with that sparkle. Ai had the sparkle prior but it was dark when the agent talked to her about becoming an idol. Her twins only have the sparkle in one eye and after she died Aqua's sparkle was dark like hers was before she became an idol.
"Idol fans aren't really like this are they?"
You bet your ass they are buddy
Finally. I've been anticipating you guys to react on this one.
Have fun with the series !
As a manga reader, you guys better be ready for this amazing series
When I saw the first episode, I instantly wasn't prepared for the emotions that I had to go through throughout the whole episode. This is going to be the anime of the year
Anime of the year is wild considering demon slayer came out literally the same year but man this first episode went crazy
The sheer emotional damage I took this episode. This show made me binge the rest of the manga in one sitting.
Damn, this is one of the few shows that I can rly feel the emotions of the characters like as if it's reality. The studio honestly did an outstanding direction on the adaptation. The no.1 rating on mal deserves it fr
Sheera showing her Motherly side getting hurt as Ai got stabbed is truly wholesome ❤️
That's why I am here
I'm happy that Lupa is here too. It's really rare for him to hop in to this kind of genre. But we are really in for a ride in this one.
Lupa reminding me of the Dave Chappelle joke "Ayo baby what are you doing outside at 2:30 in the morning" Baby yelling back " I'm selling weed nigga" I'm crying
The title "OSHI NO KO" can be interpreted several ways in Japanese.
One is "My Favorite Idol", another "The Child of My Favorite Idol".
It is a well-crafted title considering what will happen.
Akasaka is known for his wordplay so it makes sense lol
I wasn't mentally prepared for this, and I see why they made it an hour long+ episode. This fit the whole prologue in so well and I'm here for this
12:00 that edit was golden lmao
I still can:t believe how hard they went withthe art and animations for this show. Esp. with the Ai death scene and animated oil painting looking thing with Aqua’s eye at the end
A sadistic side of me wishes they released this episode as a movie with the marketing focusing solely on the struggles of a teen-mom idol. It probably wouldn’t do well but gosh that whiplash in the theatre would be legendary.
I mean the marketing did well to make Ai seem like she was the MC and many people thought it was that. Story for her as idol and her with kids.
" no, hes dead. youre alive " HGAGABABAHAG BRO HAD TO MAKE IT CLEAR LMAO
I'm gonna say it. This is by far the best first anime episode ever!
LOL BRO SAID SPEAKING PROPER ENGLISH HAHAHAHHA IM DYING
oshi no ko is this season's peak
Saw a few images of this anime yesterday, but I thought it was just a typical idol anime.. until I just watched your reaction video, and oh boy was I soo wrong. The story caught me off guard and hooked me in so deep. Just like you all, and other viewers I had no idea what to expect, but seeing the pacing and story direction of this anime I'm definitely liking it a lot. This episode literally got me in the feels, and I had to hold back the waterworks from the mid towards the end of this episode. Can't wait to see how the story plays out, AND man the art style is gorgeous btw! The songs' are bangers too! Damn xD
What happened to Ai in the end is heartwarming and wholesome. Haven't seen anything like this since the end of Jetman.
How is this Ruby's first time professionally voice acting? It makes no sense how she is so good.
major episode spoiler
the way rie-chan's voiced Ai when she is dying is just so good and expressive. best voice actress in today's date, hands down!
Thank you for joining us on this journey. You guys are so dope
4:21 I replayed this part 5 times lol
you are the best
Not sure what the definition of crying is, but today, when i watched this, a tear ran down my cheek, for the first time in years.
I was crying in the club while watching this. Then I looked up and saw the whole club crying 😭 fuck
righttt lmao what fantasy world u in?
And then everybody clapped (I want to join this club pls)
so excited you guys are reacting to this!! btw the person who writes the story of Oshi no Ko is the same mangaka as Kaguya- sama Love is War
i thought this was gonna be a baby comedy of some sort with a hint of sadness.. turns out sadness was the main ingredient and happiness was just the spice
It’s also made by the same guy that made Kaguya-Sama and these two anime are also in the same world. There are a few easter eggs showing that they’re in the same universe sprinked throughout the show
"Death waiting room" LMAO this girl was fighting in the gulags for YEARS
Never have I felt this searing burning rage in my head to completely bash someone's head, but the stalker was able to do that, cool!
Probably the most gruesome knife stabs I’ve seen from an anime of this style like Jesus Christ
From someone who longing for love to someone who have it all. What a prologue and a send off 👏
All the plot twists in Oshi no ko is freaking amazing
Best first episode, best opening, best type of pain. Oficially best anime of the season🥲😔🔥
Going on this emotional roller coaster with yaboyroshi was one of the best descions i made because iwasnt sure about this show but i wanted to watch it with them first to see if i would like the show and i really loved it and their reactions enhance this show for me absolutly they are my favorite reaction channel
I didn’t expect this but I’m so excited for this reaction series
Going completely blind onto this anime has to be the best decision I've made, didn't knew a thing before watching the episode and that really got me, amazing first episode altogether and looks like I have a new anime to watch lol
Y’all always getting me hooked onto new shows!
Bruh this episode took me in tears. And I betrayed myself by going through the Manga before the episode even came out
I appreciated how truthful the story is to the idol industry too.
