Ai's death is already heartbreaking on its own but what really hits me the most and serves as the final nail in the coffin after that is Miyako's complete 180 turn to "I already see you as my own children". Always gets a good cry out of me when watching
Since you guys didn’t mention it in the intro I’m gonna assume no one told you guys, but the manga is written by the same guy who made Kaguya-sama! Although he writes the story just like for Kaguya, someone else illustrates the art for the Oshi No Mo manga. So it’s actually a conjoined effort for the manga which is kinda unique! I’m sure you guys will notice the writing style for sure the more you watch and problem notice some similarities now that you’ve been made aware of it.
Tbf, having a different writer and artist is not uncommon in manga. A great note is that the artist is Mengo Yokoyari of Kuzu no Honkai (Scum's Wish) fame.

OMG I've been waiting for you guys to react to this series! Also, out of most of the reaction channels that I saw react on this one, you guys were the one of the only ones that actually pay attention down to the intricacies and little details of the anime which is what I expected of you guys. BUT WHAT I DID NOT EXPECT TO SEE IS THE WAY YOU GUYS REACTED TO AI'S DEATH SCENE especially Ben. I've scene Ai's death scene for so many times at this point already and have cried to it multiple times but there was a point where I just stopped crying especially when I noticed that some reactors' crying on that scene felt so fake. Think it's a great touch how when her life flashed before her eyes Ai only saw her life after she had her children. The director also did a lot of nice other things. I'm looking forward to people doing huge analysis of this "episode"(Movie) and all the choices made.
And a couple memories with the Saitous too. It's all just what became her family. Nothing about the idol industry, her childhood, etc... Akasaka (and the director for this) really went "How can we make this the most painful personal tragedy our audience has witnessed?" and went for it.

So nice to see you guys enjoy this new Anime! It's a real bummer for the recording issue, but it happens! The manga won a bunch of JP awards over the years and I'm really looking forward the adaptation. The author put a lot of thought in the story, but unfortunately some of it gets lost in the translation since there's so much stuff that can't be translated, like with how the character names are written. Hoshino(星野) = Star Field (I made a video on the first episode, if anyone is interested for more~~) You guys are covering so many good shows presently, can't wait for more MT, Re:Zero and S;G! I expected the series be way darker, based on everyone else's reaction. But I was definitely kooked after second episode. Their growing up seems as very interesting perspective. Hi new Sub here.. love ur content so far, also for note, the eye pattern are symbolic and only "we" as the viewer of the show can watch the eye pattern. it's not only a trait of the main character but also some kind of symbol of the character ambition/feeling. especially about hate, lie, and loving. that's why you notice in the epilogue the star can be turn into dark, or bright or even dissapear (when Ai dies). it's similar how in anime artstyle , the eyes can change shape/color/ size when the character expressing their emotion, but the writer took a specific unique art direction for the pupil lol.
Seeing this episode I understood how wrathful paladins feel when they aim to burn something in righteous fire. The beautiful truly set your heart aflame, and when it is snuffed out, the world is left with a wound upon it.
Ben, my reaction was your reaction. I was just tramatized and I didn't want to let go to Ai. I was falling for her character and cheering for her so much... My mother passed away when I was three, I can relate to this so much... It's just damn.... I mean damn. Idk if I even want to give the "real story" a chance because the prologue's "theme" of "Ai's raise to the top as she learns what Love is" already had me sold. This got so wild, I can't wait to see what happens next, but Ai left a strong impression, even her ending made you want to hug and protect.

It's interesting that in two of Aka Akasaka's works, Oshi no Ko and Kaguya-sama, he goes really in depth of putting on masks or fronts for other people, lying, and faking till you make it. It seems he really enjoys exploring that concept.
it was amazing 1st ep. I was surprised they called it Oshi no ko without renaming in English. It's awsome coz Oshi no Ko has double (or more) meanings so it mustve been hard to translate it. Oshi is a newer (10 - 15 years old) japanese slang word for someone/charactor one favs/loves/supports. Also ko means child(children)/little girl/boy or simply girl/boy. So when I didnt know anything about the story, and just know its about "Idol," I thought Oshi no ko meant "My favorite girl (Idol)" first. then later finds out wait! ko meant children!?
OSHI means “favorite idol “ ＝AI KO means “a girl “ or “kids “ same time.＝aqua and ruby OSHI no KO means “favorite idol girl “ and “ Aqua and ruby" its double meaning!

I've been in a university where they specialize in medical field and seen a cadaver as well as taking interest on them so I watch and listen to the rooms where they examine this So I know that abdominal aorta is fatal af like dawg that's the biggest part of a blood vessel which directly connects to the heart after oxygenated blood gets pumped out of the heart which would mean a massive damage like stab wound would make it near impossible to survive heck, even with 2 liters of blood loss is fatal which is 40% of your blood amount That's why first aid is necessary but you know even tho aqua is a former doctor his body isn't suited for first aid treatment cuz you need strength and weight to put pressure to at least stop the blood loss and let the remaining blood circulate into important organs for longer survivability
Isekai basically means "another world", since this is just reincarnation in the same world it's not one. Isekai doesn't technically need to have reincarnation either, something like Digimon would be Isekai, though im not sure the term was coined as a genre back then. Sword Art Online would also be a type of Isekai, for season 1 at least.

The beliefs around reincarnation I find pretty interesting. Most people I have watched all are surprised Sarina is reincarnated since it had been some time since her death. I guess it didn't surprise me at all because one of the first podcasts I ever heard discussing reincarnation talked about the idea that you go to a place in-between before reincarnation and come back based on karma etc, but end up the place you need to be, destiny if you will. I think this is more a new-age type take on it but it fits perfectly with this story. I understand most of the older and traditional beliefs do happen either instantaneously though or after a set time that can last up to 49 days. So I guess most people I've watched reaction are more normal and fit the actual traditions than my own of thinking nothing of it that Sarina ended up as Ruby. lol

OMG I've been waiting for you guys to react to this series! Also, out of most of the reaction channels that I saw react on this one, you guys were the one of the only ones that actually pay attention down to the intricacies and little details of the anime which is what I expected of you guys. BUT WHAT I DID NOT EXPECT TO SEE IS THE WAY YOU GUYS REACTED TO AI'S DEATH SCENE especially Ben.
I've scene Ai's death scene for so many times at this point already and have cried to it multiple times but there was a point where I just stopped crying especially when I noticed that some reactors' crying on that scene felt so fake. But when I saw Ben trying so desperately to not cry, it was clear to me that he's emotion was completely genuine and it reminded me of how I felt the first time I watched that scene so much that I just began to Ugly Cry like a baby with him and the way Ana tried to laugh it off whilst crying got me laughing while crying too XD
Anyway, thanks for the amazing content guys. I hope to see you guys react to series more into the future and I cannot wait for the next Mushoku Tensei reaction alreadyyy!!!

Think it's a great touch how when her life flashed before her eyes Ai only saw her life after she had her children.
The director also did a lot of nice other things. I'm looking forward to people doing huge analysis of this "episode"(Movie) and all the choices made.
And a couple memories with the Saitous too. It's all just what became her family. Nothing about the idol industry, her childhood, etc...
Akasaka (and the director for this) really went "How can we make this the most painful personal tragedy our audience has witnessed?" and went for it.

The manga won a bunch of JP awards over the years and I'm really looking forward the adaptation.
The author put a lot of thought in the story, but unfortunately some of it gets lost in the translation since there's so much stuff that can't be translated, like with how the character names are written. Hoshino(星野) = Star Field (I made a video on the first episode, if anyone is interested for more~~)

You are the best guys. I feel bad about that I didn't catch my tears during the watching this episode before you. But I'd say, I was a victim of hype. I expected the series be way darker, based on everyone else's reaction. But I was definitely kooked after second episode. Their growing up seems as very interesting perspective. I have a sibling, so it almost inevitable.
Fun fact, it set in the same universe with kaguya love is war, same author

also for note, the eye pattern are symbolic and only "we" as the viewer of the show can watch the eye pattern.
it's not only a trait of the main character but also some kind of symbol of the character ambition/feeling. especially about hate, lie, and loving.
that's why you notice in the epilogue the star can be turn into dark, or bright or even dissapear (when Ai dies).
it's similar how in anime artstyle , the eyes can change shape/color/ size when the character expressing their emotion, but the writer took a specific unique art direction for the pupil lol.
Seeing this episode I understood how wrathful paladins feel when they aim to burn something in righteous fire. The beautiful truly set your heart aflame, and when it is snuffed out, the world is left with a wound upon it.
It's funny you bring up how Aqua wouldnt get along with Rudeus, considering they share a voice actress

Ben, my reaction was your reaction. I was just tramatized and I didn't want to let go to Ai. I was falling for her character and cheering for her so much... My mother passed away when I was three, I can relate to this so much... It's just damn.... I mean damn. Idk if I even want to give the "real story" a chance because the prologue's "theme" of "Ai's raise to the top as she learns what Love is" already had me sold. This got so wild, I can't wait to see what happens next, but Ai left a strong impression, even her ending made you want to hug and protect.

It's interesting that in two of Aka Akasaka's works, Oshi no Ko and Kaguya-sama, he goes really in depth of putting on masks or fronts for other people, lying, and faking till you make it. It seems he really enjoys exploring that concept.

I was surprised they called it Oshi no ko without renaming in English.
It's awsome coz Oshi no Ko has double (or more) meanings so it mustve been hard to translate it.
Oshi is a newer (10 - 15 years old) japanese slang word for someone/charactor one favs/loves/supports.
Also ko means child(children)/little girl/boy or simply girl/boy.
So when I didnt know anything about the story, and just know its about "Idol," I thought Oshi no ko meant "My favorite girl (Idol)" first.
then later finds out wait! ko meant children!?
OSHI means “favorite idol “ ＝AI
KO means “a girl “ or “kids “ same time.＝aqua and ruby
OSHI no KO means “favorite idol girl “ and “ Aqua and ruby" its double meaning!
I heard it also had to do with stars.

I've been in a university where they specialize in medical field and seen a cadaver as well as taking interest on them so I watch and listen to the rooms where they examine this
So I know that abdominal aorta is fatal af like dawg that's the biggest part of a blood vessel which directly connects to the heart after oxygenated blood gets pumped out of the heart which would mean a massive damage like stab wound would make it near impossible to survive heck, even with 2 liters of blood loss is fatal which is 40% of your blood amount
That's why first aid is necessary but you know even tho aqua is a former doctor his body isn't suited for first aid treatment cuz you need strength and weight to put pressure to at least stop the blood loss and let the remaining blood circulate into important organs for longer survivability

Isekai basically means "another world", since this is just reincarnation in the same world it's not one. Isekai doesn't technically need to have reincarnation either, something like Digimon would be Isekai, though im not sure the term was coined as a genre back then. Sword Art Online would also be a type of Isekai, for season 1 at least.
the perfect lie includes some truth but Ai not being able to distinguish between lies and truth as she says makes it difficult for her to do that properly.

The beliefs around reincarnation I find pretty interesting.
Most people I have watched all are surprised Sarina is reincarnated since it had been some time since her death.
I guess it didn't surprise me at all because one of the first podcasts I ever heard discussing reincarnation talked about the idea that you go to a place in-between before reincarnation and come back based on karma etc, but end up the place you need to be, destiny if you will. I think this is more a new-age type take on it but it fits perfectly with this story.
I understand most of the older and traditional beliefs do happen either instantaneously though or after a set time that can last up to 49 days.
So I guess most people I've watched reaction are more normal and fit the actual traditions than my own of thinking nothing of it that Sarina ended up as Ruby. lol
