He's great and was a real ground-breaker. It never occurred to me that he set a new pattern, different from the usual Englishman at the time but quite able to play an upper class guy in Zulu.
Such an incredible personality.... Man, I'd have loved to have spent some time earwigging him talking in company unfettered !!! He's absolutely hypnotic . Xxx :-)
Absolutely wonderful interview. Kudos to Dini Petty for just letting him talk. Pop a question or remark here and there and sit back and listen. Great job.
What a charming and wonderful interview. Dini is perfect because she's not interrupting him, she's allowing him to just rattle on in his own inimitable way.
What a great interview, and the host just let Michael speaks and tells wonderful life story. And good advise to men about how to pay attention to women, not just themselves. Definitely will get his audio autobiography.
Michael Caine is THE easiest interviewee of all time. Even Dini Petty couldn't mess it up as much as she tried with with her laughing and constant interjections.
I've been aware of Dini Petty since the 1980's but never listened to a full interview. She seems very Canadian (like me). Alert, polite, never gushing, beautiful face and expression; thoughtful, listening carefully, funny, and happy to flirt a bit.
Do you have the 1993 episode with Bret Hart when he gave a very young Adam "Edge" Copeland" in the audience some advice on making it big time in professional wrestling to WWE?
Come from solid ground and hard grind .matured wiv natural talent belief and a goal. That type of master craftsman compared wiv the pilehigh instants wiv the 5 min fame culture. A race to the bottom no doubt
I felt slightly on edge watching this because the interviewer seemed to keep waiting on Caine to pause even for an instant so that she could jump in. Just wanted Caine to keep talking without her superfluous comments and reactions.
I was thinking the opposite, I just watched him on david letterman and saw this and was thoroughly impressed by how little the interviewer talked, it seemed like a genuine one sided conversaation and I suspect even michael caine would admit that.
Precisely. Could have done without her needless interjections. It's not required because Caine is such an EASY interview and can run for miles with any good question. I'm critical because I've seen her do this so many times, I can only guess she wants to show everyone that she's done her homework with her knowledge of the guest.
It all began in 1966? Caine had already been a leading man in Zulu (1964) and the Ipcress File (1965) before he made Alfie in ‘66! What’s she on about?

Like Michael Caine? Look at his life. He was born into poverty, worked his ass off, did years of repertory theatre and prepared for the break when it came to him.
Listening is the top talent of a good interviewer. Dini's nice-looking, and I recall her having a good show--but she does insist on interrupting. In his case, he doesn't need egging on to keep things lively. Here and there he looks annoyed when his punch lines don't get across as she's so eager to jump in.

Brilliant interview Dini is excellent and we all love Micheal !!!
Beautiful Dini Petty did a superb interview. Michael Cane is one of my favourite actors. Enjoyed his humour and personal story.
lt's Caine.
Absolutely wonderful interview. Kudos to Dini Petty for just letting him talk. Pop a question or remark here and there and sit back and listen. Great job.
WOW WOW WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111
What an incredible interview.
From a mad keen 75yo Aussie fan.
Michael Caine has tons of funny stories to tell
I've never heard of Dini Petty before seeing this; she's precise and extremely well spoken. I like her.
She's a knock-out too. Good looks AND brains, what a combination.
She is Canadian. That's why.
Watch that instead of barney before Regis on ATV.
Me too. Not gushing, aware, vulnerable, thoughtful, listening to every word, joking
One of my all-time favourite books and my favourite Mr. Scrooge now.

U nutz?
Just brilliant.
That was a great interview!
I'd forgotten how cute Dini Petty was.
Thanks for posting! I could listen to him for hours, he is a nice storyteller!
Quite the raconteur.
Michael! What a STAR!

British people prounounce every word perfectly and clearly even non native englsih people can hear it clearly.

Please add episode on Chronic Fatigue. Very relevant these days as it began as a virus and there are long-haulers.
"if i am real, it makes the puppets real, it makes them into human beings." some hip hop layers to that.
Awesome in Alfie and Zulu.
When he laughs he reminds me of David Bowie for some reason.
From the same neck of the woods......south London.
Michael from Elephant and Castle.
David from Streatham, just below the E&C.

At 16:40 he mentions an eye disease ... blethora? How is it spelled? I cannot find it.

Dini interrupts too much. It’s annoying.
Yes.
Dini is dreadful because she keeps interrupting him. Let him speak; he loves to talk and he is a lot more interesting than the host.
Bingo. These people saying the opposite are nuts
She's trying too hard
Dini was pretty enough female ; But beautiful ? I have seen and felt beauty in my life ,
Dini Petty dose not qualify .
