Never really liked 'show bizz' people, always thought they were over paid & over regarded - especially by them selves! - but Sir Michael Caine is such a splendid human being, the world needs more such as he!
What a lovely lovely man. My daughter at sixteen back In the eighties was working up London saw him and chased him down Oxford Street for his autograph and was so out of breath when she caught up with him. He was such a gentleman and signed it. She has kept it to this day.
What a skilled interviewer and Sir Michael Caine was nothing short of wonderful - what a down to earth, sincere and charming individual. The world needs more men like this.
That was a triumph of the talk show. An interviewer more interested in his guest's input, and a guest at his ease as a raconteur to an audience who obviously love him. A jewel of an interview.
I watched this interview when it was first aired and since RUclips have been trying to find it. Michael appeared on the show a few times but this was the best interview. Thanks for the post 👍🏻👏🏻
I've lived in Canada, The US, NZ & now Greece. I'm from Scotland. I honestly think Parky had the best questions, the best research and asked things that the viewers really wanted to know. Too many talk show hosts are more concerned with themselves or trying to be funny, the US is terrible for that.
That's what I shared with my daughter. The difference btw American talk shows and British ones. No snazzy stage, no flower arrangements, no fancy furniture, no band, no backdrop except for that curtain. Just two blokes, two chairs and a whole lot of gripping tales.
Met a guy who saw him on the street when he was doing "Hannah and her sisters." Caine noticed him and said "Hi." Caine conversed with him in a very cordial way. Real nice man actually. Very down to earth.
Two elderly gents sitting talking; sounds as if it should be as dry as dust, but it turns out to be true entertainment of the highest order. An absolute joy to listen to.
Parkie is the best interviewer ever. Caine is just the best. A northern Yorkshire lad chatting with a southern shandy drinking londoner.... no pretence just two friends having a chat. That's Parkie's gift, he's just got that manner that relaxes people and lets them talk.... You won't find anyone today as good as these two in their respective roles.
