Michael Caine and Samuel L Jackson are the 2 actors I describe as “blue collar working actors”. They will be in any movie. Good, big budget, independent, dogshit, doesn’t matter. They will always show up and give it everything they have. They are both incredible. Caine’s retirement is a sad day for cinema but it’s nice to reflect on his outstanding career.
And he is STILL acting today, 16 years later, at 90 years old. Hopefully he goes out like his contemporary and close friend Christopher Plummer, who died age 91. He's definitely beat the odds now. People who reach their 90s who fall ill do not stay sick for longer than a few weeks or months before they exit stage right.
He is good in every movie he ever made! But yes-- that is a great picture! See Man Who Would Be King again. The Quiet American is the Graham Greene story, neat it is Indochina in before the Vietnam War and the American presence. ( Isn't it wild that the host, Charlie Rose does NOT know who Tesla was). regarding the movie in the first 10 minutes the film Lost Horizon is great, it got great after the director cut out the entire first reel, and put the title back on and THEN showed it!
Well...Elon Musk's Tesla has been around since you were a child...so of course you heard about the man that way. I am 44, and I heard about Tesla long before the company existed, in the 90s.
@@trouper206 You literally posted a comment about why he hadn't heard of Tesla, and I'm telling you why. Tesla was not a household name until the company blew up. Ask anyone about 35 and up.
@@trouper206 Your answer is nonsensical. Just ask. Ask your parents if they knew who he was before the company (or the film). Ask aunts and uncles, Grandparents. But you won’t do that, because you know I’m right.
Okay, but how could Michael Caine have not heard of Tesla before this? Why does Charlie laugh when Michael says he´s from the same place as Bowie? What is funny about that? Oh goodness, Kashmir is in India people.
@@Mandeepd13 no...but I still think it is dumb showing someone "potentially", we'll say in this case since we've both seen the film, dying in the trailer
Michael Caine is like a very fine wine he just gets better every day.
I can watch Michael Caine interviews all day.
Not many people know that.
They do now 😅
i realize I'm quite randomly asking but do anyone know a good website to stream newly released movies online?
@Forest Ismael meh atm I have been using flixportal. just google for it =) -ellis
@Ellis Clyde thank you, signed up and it seems like they got a lot of movies there :) I appreciate it !!
@Forest Ismael Happy to help =)

Michael Caine is the real deal...says it as it is, and says it with so much profundity
What a lovely man Caine really is a true gentleman
Truly a lovely man
Best movie of the 21st century
Agreed. One of the most overlooked films, unfortunately
XD i preferred the illusionist at the time for the score. I thought the prestige was clunky and overdone
@@oscarsalesgirl296 It’s far superior to the illusionist.
I watch it often & catch something new every time. Perfection 😃
Caine in educating Rita is heartbreaking.
Makes me cry.
❤❤what a lovely man and grest actor Michael is
Great interviewer he just flows and gets the best out of his interviewees
One of my favourite actors & movies (The Prestige) of all time. I feel like when he & Christian Bale get together it’s just a match made in heaven.
You can totally imagine these guys continuing to talk for hours after this interview. Good match for good discussion

"Have you ever heard about a man called Tesla?"
And she did 20 minutes on him..."
One of the great movies.
love, love Michael Caine. He is almost always better then the movie he's in. And certainly better then his co-stars.
Unless Batman.
Wish micheal Caine had a damn podcast
I used to think micheal caine was never a young man
met him in Londo in 83, a wonderful man
Gregory Peck sneezing 😂😂 I swear Michael Caine is the funniest
iam a massive fan and the educating Rita the best film ever
The Quiet American, Excellent!
Charlie is a legend interviewing legends.
Well, he's not white patriachy or shite like that, he's just boring.
@@somguy728 That's the point. He might be a little boring so his guests can shine.
He’s awesome in harry brown, kicks arse 😊
Rest in peace Sean connery

I can’t believe he never heard the name “Tesla”. That’s pretty insane. I’m 23 and I learned about that man a long time ago.

Angia : Again. Borden : Bonder.
Somehow, there is something about the interviewer that I don’t like.....
Top film. Although Sleuth is the masterpiece.
Get Caine'd
Michael Caine is too cool. Can’t believe I used to think charlie rose was any good, he’s a lousy interviewer.
