I started to wear glasses when I was eight, about 1973. I felt bad about it . Then I saw Michael on the " Merv Griffin show ". He mentioned that when he did " The Ipcress files", he was the first leading man since Harold Lloyd to wear glasses. He was so cool and funny. He immediately became my hero and my favorite actor to this day!
I know it!! But if that's the only thing that he needs to stay independent, that's great.I'm glad to see that he still seems healthy and mentally sharp.Great actor, great guy.
Michael Caine you will be remembered for many roles. But your role as Ebeneezer Scrooge will always be my favorite character that you have played because it was the first time I ever saw you in a movie.
I just read his first auto biography earlier this year, it was a long one. I can’t believe he’s written another one. He’s such a character and a bit of a rascal.
I always go to Steve Coogan's impression of Caine in The Trip after I hear Michael: "I tend to raise my voice when I get emotional...SHE WAS ONLY SIXTEEN YEARS OLD!!"
Yes I do remember him since his movie Ipcress wearing such visible dark glasses and since then I always kept an eye on his movies ...Zulu was such a masterpiece to my eyes and his part was extremely well acted.. It's a great actor and I guess a tremendous fellow to speak and drink with. I whish him he was able to start afresh now from the age of 18 so to have him around for another 70 years or so :-) Thank you legend.
Lorraine, thanks for reminding me of that role. He literally broke my heart in that movie. I saw a sweetness in him I’d never seen before. Simply brilliant.
Met the fella in fortnum masons 2019.tall as a house.I had to get a word out of him so I ambled around looking down and asked real unknowing if he knew where the tea towels were.He managed a short NO.and disappeared.Hes a king never did bad work.Dam legend.I bet he knew where the towels were but it's ok I spoke to M.ichael Caine.
In order to decide whether he 'd take a part, he once said "I read the script and if I'm in the first scene, and in the last scene, I take it" (or something close). Such a lovable dude.
@@joel8583 Not because of his age but because of the way the title is written, "A legendary life" as in it was over. Also because it was in my recommended first thing in the morning, and the morning before was one about "Super Dave" Bob Einstein's passing. So I thought "Oh no, not again"
Michael said of "Brexit" that he was a reluctant "leaver" of the European Union and said - "I don't know what to vote for. Both are scary. To me, you've now got in Europe a sort of government-by-proxy of everybody, who has now got carried away. Unless there is some extremely significant changes, we should get out."
I met him early 70's,in his Grosvenor Sq apartment, working for B.Gas we had a job there. He only said "good morning"as he walked down the hallway, but I thought that was nice of him, he could have just walked past and said nothing
For some people, Michael Caine is not liked, because he was a conservative here in the UK. He left the UK officially in the 1970s when the governments (both Conservative and Labour) put up income tax, rising to a sky high 83% for high earners by 1974. He felt this was too high and left, and got a lot of bad press over his decision. He moved to Beverly Hills and returned in the 1980s when Margaret Thatcher lowered the income tax for higher earners to 60%.
Dear Michael Caine, please allow me to say some words. Thank you. I am concerned about the situation of Julian Assange who is a journalist and offers a platform for whistleblowers exposing war crimes, constructed war reasons and other crimes. To defend freedom of information is important. Hence I would like to ask you to say some sentences in public supporting the freedom of Julian Assange. Julian Assange brings us closer to truth. That´s what we need. Thank you. Sincerely and FREEDOM for Assange! Michael Haas
85 years old, sharp and strong.
Living right sure helps! Thumbs up!

It is good to have heroes and you definitely picked a class one.
One of my favorite actors of all time. I love everything he does!!❤️
If there is anyone that can bring prestige to a movie, it’s Michael Caine.
He’ll always be Alfred to me.
...and there Alfred is riding with the Joker! 5:16
It's Batman's nightmare!
Haha
And Finn McMissile too
He'll always be monsieur Lawrence Jamieson and Alfie to me.
Like Humphrey Bogart... there will NEVER be another Michael Caine.
He's adorable. The funniest roll he did, from the ones I've seen was Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. He's so charming.
My mother was an extra in HURRY SUNDOWN (1967)... so, Michael Caine has been an often-mentioned persona in our household. 💜
Excellent actor, Excellent book, Excellent person. I really enjoyed his latest book. His observations are solid. Thanks Michael Caine.
“Second Hand Lion” . . . one of the best movies ever made!!! Thank you Michael and Robert Duvall!!!
I don't want to see Michael Caine with a cane :(
@ Ad Ardrian That's life. He allowed to be seen with a cane. He has no problem with it.
😯
I know it!! But if that's the only thing that he needs to stay independent, that's great.I'm glad to see that he still seems healthy and mentally sharp.Great actor, great guy.

Amazing actor. First saw him in the Muppet Christmas Carol. Brilliant as Scrooge.
I just read his first auto biography earlier this year, it was a long one. I can’t believe he’s written another one. He’s such a character and a bit of a rascal.

Some people grow old others grow with style!
He was excellent in "Second hand lions"
That was a great movie!!
Yes a very unique film- A lot of the greats are in their 80's-Caine-Eastwood-Plummer-Hopkins-Redford-Sutherland...
No, Robert Duvall was great in "Second Hand Lions." Just kidding. It was a great film. Especially the fight scene.
I loved Blame it on Rio and Alfie.
People forget he was quite handsome when he was young.
Dude is so so good.
Simply legend!!!!!!!
I adore him in everything he does. He had me in stitches in Miss Congeniality!

Not only an actor, he also fought in the Korean War.
and no ego. working class boy from impoverished family surviving the war.
Loved Cider House Rules

Mmmjnnviii
Michel Cain was legendary in Korea. I salute you sir!!
The man is just GREAT
What a marvelous gentleman. I'm delighted that he's still going strong. As a side note, Jane Pauley is still such a beauty.
Deathtrap was another one of his classic movies. Interesting person.
Best Alfred ever!
An incredible man..long life sir
what an amazing actor/man !
In order to decide whether he 'd take a part, he once said "I read the script and if I'm in the first scene, and in the last scene, I take it" (or something close). Such a lovable dude.
I love him 😍
I saw this title pop up and I thought he had died
...me too!! 😲😨😱
Really?? How could you guys even think that?? Heck, Kirk Douglas just turned 102!!

He will always be Nigel Powers to me.
The man who would be king.
love Michael Caine. He can play the phonebook and it still will be magnificent.
Had no idea he was a combat veteran in the Korean War, his war experience is more legit than most
Remarkable actor and person
Batman and Robin characters can change quickly, but Alfred and Mr. Michael Caine will be forever be sealed.
Alfred and the Joker hanging out. It's Batman's WORST nightmare! 5:16
I’ve always like the esoteric flick “A shock to the system”
It's funny,in watching any film with Michael Caine ....I'm fully aware it's him but also accept the character he's playing.
He will do any movie
Will always be part of my childhood hood
I love this man
Always The Gentleman!
And an Actor of Exceptional
Excellence!
Too Many Roles to
Mention
One
The Man Who Would
Be King! N
Michael Caine looks so much like my uncle!
Great segment here. As expected.
Small point but the seemingly American interviewer here said “Batmin” like his interviewee, rather than the more common Batman.
Love him
Who doesn't love Michael Caine?
He is do freaking overrated ! He plays the same role over and over!
Charlotte Ziggy so did Jimmy Stewart and Humphrey Bogart as well as numerous other well known actors.
Educating Rita and Man Who Would Be King are his best roles.
I love educating Rita.
He was super in "Zulu".
Love the man!
a real class act
We've all been THERE...
I had an outhouse too....it was just normal in rural Concord,California..... nothing rural about that place now.
I adore Michael Caine!
LEGENDARY!!!!!!
Adore Michael Caine! 😁
Some of my favs. Blame it on Rio, Surrender, Blue Ice. Yes, they were corny, but a guy has to make a living, you know.
I love Michael Caine as Alfred, the butler.
Zulu made him a star. Alfie, The Italian Job, and Get Carter made him a bigger star.
"Blowing the bloody doors off"
Rage Rage against the dying of the light
Why does no one mentioned Get Carter (1971) and The Black Windmill (1974), one of his best roles in one of those films.
Why did I think that he was gone😭😭
he will soon :(
Adi Adrian don’t say that
He'll outlive us all...
Wow... He is brilliant with accents.
Love you Mike!! what's it all about?!
I would like too see him write a write a work of fiction next
I met him early 70's,in his Grosvenor Sq apartment, working for B.Gas we had a job there. He only said "good morning"as he walked down the hallway, but I thought that was nice of him, he could have just walked past and said nothing
Tha narration grates

He’s adorable
The Man Who Would Be King
MR. DESTINY was a good movie...
Alfred plays Michael Caine pretty well
"Found a virgin. It's paradise. Yours, Matthew."
Blame it on Rio... hilarious.
THE EAGLE HAS LANDED.......TRIPLE7
Interstellar.
Harry Brown...excellent but sad movie
He should play deckard Shaw’s dad in Hobbs and Shaw 2
With the cigars and the brandy.....
What's it all about ALFIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE ?
