My dad and I worked together briefly on a few big projects including a commercial building. Now he is retired but still helps me out from time to time with small stuff at work. Even though it wasn't always easy, looking back I really enjoyed working with my dad and wish it wasn't such a short amount of time that ended so abruptly. Those were exciting times and the feeling of working side by side with your dad is almost indescribable. We're lucky to have fathers who care about us, because there are so many out there who hate their dad or don't even know who he is. Cherish the time you spend with yours, as I do. Keep up the good work boys, can't wait to see the garden wall finished!
What great customers to work for, well looked after !!! Absolutely love these videos with you and KC 👍 you both must be proud of the channel and it's impact on so many.
Question time with KC and Stu. Brilliant! I'm not a bricky and I have no desire to be one, but your videos are fun to watch Stu, which is why I keep coming back time and again!
Brilliant video Stu loved those pies! The builder I have used in the past was at the time my nearest neighbour so on a Friday I used to treat him and his colleague to fish and chips! Not many bricks were laid on Friday afternoon but as I was doing the labouring for them I was glad about that! Cheers mate.👍👍👍
Its great to see a father and son getting on and working together reminds me of my pops when we layed bricks together alot of lads would make snide remarks how they couldnt work with there old man , you pair a re showing yourselfs up to be gentlemen👏
Brilliant relationship between you and your dad Stu! Always enjoy your content. Never actually realised you own a Type R either, good man🤙🏻 keep up the top work pal
I'm currently doing my level 1 bricklaying at college, already have my cscs labourer card, just passed my driving test last month. As soon as I go onto level 2 I'm going to be looking for an apprenticeship so hopefully things go well.
Great to watch. If building a back garden wall 12 metre long by 2 metre high is it necessary to have piers? Or can a double skin wall be built to these dimensions and tied together? Any help appreciated.
I've worked with my dad for 31 years now in the roofing game . Your relationship with your dad seems very familiar Stu...my old man made me serve 5 years of an apprenticeship and started me on a YTS at 16 earning £17.50 a week.....guess we've all got to start somewhere mate...love your on the job videos. 👍
Hi Stu,, as a Landscape gardener I've done work like this, but it takes me a long time,, you do make it look easy,, and its not,, Great video,, watched about 10 of these now.. 👍👍👍
You can't whack working at a good tea house, it makes customer relations so much better. I never ask for a brew, but it's nice when they offer. After being on one job for nearly four hours, she comes out and says, if you lads want a tea or a coffee, there's a garage on the corner sell it...aw right thank's for that luv
Just to let ya know Stu Sika bought the Everbuild brand in 2013 which is probably why you thought that :) Great vid. I do like English bond, with bang on pointing the work can really stand out compared to normal stuff 80% of the country has. thumbs up.
Massive respect to you and KC, going above and beyond trying to restore the good faith is tradesmen once had before all the chancers and cowboys came along
White Van Man talk to him he probably doesn’t see what he’s doing ,tell him straight you want to be mates but you can’t until he changes & respects you....worked for me with my mum🍀
You do awesome brickwork but nobody is explaining how to build the footings how much weight they can hold what preparation needs to be done to the ground for and clay gravel
There was a serious discussion point going on there regarding apprenticeship. The UK lag behind this in a big way. We need apprenticeships, apprenticeships and apprenticeships.
After quite a few videos of yours watched, I now building a garage. Never done it before.... 🤷🏻♂️ it’s 9.9 x 6.7 meters. The only problem I encountered, is that building sand I got, it is really bad. Can not get a creamy mix.... and done my back in, as garage being built out of hollow concrete blocks 🧱
4:50 "engineering bricks, 65mm" Class B bricks have a water absorption of less than 7%. They should be alright laid with some stiffer muck to compensate the wet brick.
Mate you leave some comments, are you a bricklayer or a googler. The bricks were saturated completely and it was raining heavy, whatever the mix it’s difficult in those conditions.
Dad and son time having a Laff while working I miss days like that but roll reversal now I have my son helping me 😊 Dream job food and drink like that !! What mix are you using for your mortar as looks greyer than mine could it be I’m not using enough cement dust? Have fun and make the most of all your dad son,mum daughter, mum son& dad daughter moments as they can go in the blink of an eye 😊 Keep up the great videos 👍🏻👍🏻(I’m not a bricklayer I’m a diy man when it comes to this sort of thing)
Hi Alan sometimes you get different shades of cement due to in different parts of the country there is different types of sand hope this answers your question
Good day Sir, I want to built a braai with a chimney, can you advise on the chimney part how to built especially the sloping portion so that it doesn't fall in while you built it and the height of the chimney so that it extract the smoke nicely while you braai. I am staying in South Africa and admire your talent and the fact that your father is doing it with you . In South Africa we talk about braai whereas in other countries they taljk about barbecue.
I've come across your channel as I am looking for help in how to lay a brick wall at my home. I want to do it myself as I dont want to risk the health of work man coming to my home and with it being such a small walk as well. The relationship you have with you dad is brilliant. Life goals right there for most people.
Stu, i started serving my time, done three years out the four. My third year was city and guilds advanced craft bricklaying, missed the silver trowel by one mark. Thought I knew it all, so my fourth year left my apprenticeship and went to work with a squad on pricework. Great idea at the time, but never done my skills test, so never finished my apprenticeship. Now with this Cscs card, it’s as if I never done anything. How do I go about getting my card and getting on site legally with the proper card. I’ve been going on sites with a labourers card, and building away, but I want the card I’m entitled to, any advice?
Glad to see the pies out Stu, great information video to show people how it's done right first time !, These people don't half spoil you n KC , brews biccies n din dins have a few 100 reclaimed bricks at home in sunny Farnworth, Accrington's of course mainly n me lads got 3 pallets on his drive across from me , proper man's bricks 💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪👍
You really should keep your story poles a bit cleaner Stu. There are glaring smudges from the mortar. Just teasing brother I wanted to have the first troll comment on the feed 🤣🤣. Great video love the family bond you guys share. Blake from Alabama
Quick question, do the string lines not sag? Are they more for lining up the bricks rather than levelling? Appreciate you making these videos, very helpful and mesmerising to watch.
Good day you 2... don't play that song for me, it brings back so many memories all those days that I once new ... OMG we could spend just as much time covering up... loved that bag sand, you be careful with that Stanley... we just same in Brighton weather just as bad as Bolton .. You Stewart just like me will come to Hate and Despise that cold and wet it's ruins so much and Christ knows how we ever made a nice job... the BEST THING I ever did was in 2001 emigrated to Perth out of that darkness ... of course it's NOT a holiday out here however yes it's true the sun comes up to shine on me and my family every day Glad you got that first course down and covered least you have that start when it finally stops One other thing we have the same Passion for all our Animals and was sorry you just lost little Orvil... poor bugger.. "look at that like, it's a right Bobby dazzler" Ha ha... love it 👍
One of the best dinner time programmes I've seen. KC 'salt of the earth'. Catch up with you both soon.
That is a top tip on covering the jumbo bags from KC.
So true, most people come into the trade not wanting to do the labouring part, but it’s a must

Conscientious work ( even going so far as to protect the pavement) . Keep a close eye on that Stihl saw !
7:55 I am 38. I am starting a part time level 2 bricklaying course in early Sept. Gonna take a year to complete.
Great to see the BT Bricksaw in action Stu! Makes those cuts a dream!
BT Engineering Brickies Tools great to see an Aussie product in action. Well done BT. Makes us proud.
The sand used for the muck in the UK, what grain size is that? It looks almost like whipped cream and very easy to work with, love it.
Brilliant relationship between you and your dad Stu! Always enjoy your content. Never actually realised you own a Type R either, good man🤙🏻 keep up the top work pal

White Van Man talk to him he probably doesn’t see what he’s doing ,tell him straight you want to be mates but you can’t until he changes & respects you....worked for me with my mum🍀
You have to show your dad your opinions produce something good, my dad was the same about RUclips, now he loves it
I prefer to start 1st course stretcher rather than header as it's easy to get a harf in your wall especially on longer runs!
You do awesome brickwork but nobody is explaining how to build the footings how much weight they can hold what preparation needs to be done to the ground for and clay gravel
Still easy the best wall on RUclips 💯
