Ur videos are really doing me a favour in my bricklaying course. I watched ur videos before I started my course which gave me a bit of insight but now that I’m doing the course it is benefitting me a lot! Even my tutor said I am improving on my brickwork because of ur videos and other bricklayer tutorials. I appreciate u man keep it up!
Top class as always! There's no doubt that the level is King, but, there's also no substitute for a craftsman's eye, which you undoubtedly have, and which only comes with experience!Best wishes and blessings to you Stu!
Great video as always Stu. I lay brick part time as a secondary job. I really enjoy your videos. You lay brick so smooth like an artist. You really have a great talent. I love music but I liked this video without the music. Keep them coming please.
Great vid Stu, takes me back to tech college in the 80's , did a trade trading course when I left school, brickwork, joinery, plumbing etc, I ended up as Plumber, but loved the bricklaying.
I just love the sound of running water and trowel on brick. I new a hod carrier who would go to sleep with the sound of a mixer being cleaned with water and brick's on a cassette tape . another good sound.
Another cracking video Stu,the second build they teach you to do at college after the pyramid.Very neat, plumb and to gauge-you make it look effortless!! 😉👌👍
Mind me Stu, but you got really good. I can clearly see you passed from tapping the bricks (back in the days/videos) to pressing them down. Nice technique 😉. I'm doing it too and it's really pleasing when you reach the right level 😁. Have a good one mate. Cheers.
Nice and neat, full perps and bed joint exact amount of mortar, without unnecessary moves👌 Obviously you are experienced enough to know how 10mm bed joint looks like but you could use tape measure to be sure every course is gauge!😉
Good man Stu, haven't been as active on your channel but seen the no music in the title and instantly clicked ha wasn't that long ago you were on 3.8k so great to see your channel is growing. Onto 100k and best of luck with the academy
No music, the sound of running water, geese flying past, a train.. expecting to hear my mother-in-laws dulcet tones (not) any second. Make it look so easy mate!
Nice job dude, I like to put a fourth flick on my perps I find you never have that small void on top of the brick once it's laid, but live the content. Not sure if you have done a dome pizza oven video but that would be cool to see how you get a nice dome, if you ever find time. Thanks from aus
Keep doing what your doing stu mate because it's fantastic watched you from day one and wow what a change you have made you should be proud I'm hoping to come over before Christmas and have a hours lesson with you or something buddy will be in touch keep up the great work !!!!!
How do you know the horizontal and vertical spacing between each brick is accurate? In my mind if you were building a house for example, you could end up with one side too long or too high and then the whole house is the wrong size.
Would this type of brick and design require additional reinforcement for a wood roof frame with sheet metal for a small garage? Zero background in construction here.
Great vid as usual stu. Just an idea but have you thought about doing a live q and a in insta or RUclips. Answer questions from followers and give Abit of an insight in to your work life, the academy ect. Keep up the good work👍
Great vid, does this work for double cavity block walls as well? Seperate topic but could you also explain the different bonds needed for bricks and block build ty.
He has done a video on bricking up a window opening. Door sizes differ whether inside or outside, also now doorways on the ground floor have to be wider to accommodate wheelchair users
I’m assuming that’s the great British weather we can hear? 😂 good video so far although I’ll admit I like the chat over the top (and the Wigan pie eating obvs)! 😊 Hope all is well Mr C
It is indeed Rian yea well I’m just trying something new no harm in that eh that doesn’t mean every video will be like this as you know there’s a fair mix of content. I like to keep it fresh. 👍
no bricklayer has ever explain how they set up the bricks height wise. How do you know if you will end up with full brick on top end or not? is it ok to have half brick on top?
Very good comment, he is not gauging the height of the courses. How does he know he is going to come out on elevation of the brick, could be a window, a rollock course or top of door way
Do you only have engineering bricks to lay ? You want to try some renaissance or bovington bricks see how you get on some of the worse bricks I've layed. Nice video.
Cheers Trevor yeah I like Laying engineering while it’s a tutorial for those that want to learn, why make it harder for myself lol but I have layed some terrible bricks in earlier videos. Those that rip you hands to shreds 😂
That is beautiful mate 👍🏽Just out of interest, should the actual mortar mix inbetween the courses be a certain thickness? If so is there a tried and tested way to achieve this? Cheers.

Some say silence is golden. I certainly agree here!
Great vid Stu, takes me back to tech college in the 80's , did a trade trading course when I left school, brickwork, joinery, plumbing etc, I ended up as Plumber, but loved the bricklaying.
I'm repointing my walls and having a hell of a job with the corners, I point one side and it's just pushing out the other side
Always a pleasure watching a skilled man. I am currently building steps with brick courses and pavers. I hope I can learn from watching you.
Brilliant. Best brickwork tutorial on RUclips
glad you think so Ry
Simple yet effective

COULD YOU CREATE A VIDEO ON DIFFERENT TYPES OF MORTAR JOINTS AND HOW TO DO THEM. WOULD LOVE TO SEE THAT 👍🏻
Harry Hetherington agreed
Nice!I love the sound of the trowel against the bricks.
learning a lot from your videos, i will check out the courses you organise. thank you.
Fabulous Stu, if you have pristine engineering bricks, but what about showing us how you do that same corner with old and battered reclaimed bricks?
I will do John 👍
You are the best bricklayer in the world for me mate , I'm learning from you, all the best
This is music to my ears! Love!!!
It’s a different kind of musics eh A something different 😁
Another cracking video Stu,the second build they teach you to do at college after the pyramid.Very neat, plumb and to gauge-you make it look effortless!! 😉👌👍

mate its all about the sponge finish with smooth joints lol i like using cavity insulation to finish engineering bricks they come out looking mint!
Brilliant stuff, and no music which makes it easier to focus on the actual technique.
Nice one. I can now brick lay from this video. Gen
Just watched that and found it super therapeutic .👍👍 nice one.

I didn't know bricklaying ASMR was a thing. I will admit it did feel kinda calming.
Follow asmr bricklaying for more asmr 👍
😂😂😂
Sneaky ASMR video? That was the most relaxing corner I’ve ever seen / heard being built.... cracking
Beautiful sound
We're all taught when an apprentice,
not to hit your level, but we all do it😄 . I carry a two foot level as well , comes in handy.
Good vid 👍
Hello stu love watching this video I don't know why, it's a great vid and I started my cavity wall today
Brilliant 👍
Video is great only one thing with us masons here in Jamaica we hit our blocks not our levels but extremely good insight on brick laying
That has chilled me out nicely for going to sleep. ASMR brickey.
Lovely job

Great lesson Stu. Thanks. What boots are those? Greetings from Poland.
Very therapeutic to watch
Nice work
عمل جيد واتقان شكرا على فيديو
I have a question, don't we need a water proof sheet underneath? In practical implementation
No music !!! Scandalous !! 😁 Great video mate 👍
something different :)
@@Stucrompton1 Absolutely mate 👍

Currently doing a basic bricklaying course in college atm hoping to progress, any tips on how to improve my pointing would be greatly appreciated
Does the mortar between the lower bricks get pushed down by the weight, or do the bricks, as it were, move downwards by whatever degree?
Great vid as usual stu. Just an idea but have you thought about doing a live q and a in insta or RUclips. Answer questions from followers and give Abit of an insight in to your work life, the academy ect. Keep up the good work👍
yes i will do that
Great tutorial!!
Thank you nice video 👍

so satisfying
Hi stu do u hve any videos on how to brick a door or window opening and what size should the door openings be?
He has done a video on bricking up a window opening. Door sizes differ whether inside or outside, also now doorways on the ground floor have to be wider to accommodate wheelchair users
Hi Stu. Have you done a video on the best methods on how you clean your bricks/work? We are not all as talented as you..😂🤣.
ive done one before but i will do a new one
@@Stucrompton1 thank you. Can you put a link in here and point me in the right direction of the last one please. Keep up the good work mate. Paul
Do you use full strength mortar for an example like this?
Christ you make that look easy!

It's perfect
No music is the way to go!
Excellent
6 mins in and your tinkering that level haha
GOOD job
I'm a mason from new jersey and i just want to say "CRACKIN STU CHEERS"

How many millimeters should you stay off the ground? As in how many millimeters are your joints?
Love is best.
hi mate did you plumb the first course ??

Nice work mate. You should put ASMR in the title lol what boots are those btw?
Leonardo of bricklaying.
How do keep your joints consistent in size without a line?
Practice using eye to gauge
How do you keep joints even?
Years of practice
What's that mortar made of, I take it that it doesn't set to allow practice?
Sand and lime I believe
how about laying around doors and windows
Stu, do you use cement to make your morter, only when I went to college they only used wet sand and no Feb.
It’s not just sand there is line in it no need for feb
Can you tell us about the mortar mix you use here?
Yes it’s sand and lime 👍
@@Stucrompton1 and portland?
No cement at all
@@Stucrompton1 I had no idea that was possible! researching now...really interesting.

usually its 10mm

How many bricks should be put a brkcklayer a day
Great really good night عالی
Now I can lay around the house.
Yes Brezil.
