You're hyping me up now ☺️. Those things are pretty important and make a huge difference in our decision. I could not stand the choking humidity and the bugs were awful in San Juan but the sunshine was always great. The only downside is leaving behind family around these unknown times when things like covid are happening.

@Remi Hrn I am afraid that by the time I retire and ready to move to EP that EP will be discovered and priced just like Phoenix. There are not too many big or medium sized cities in America where you can get a decent home for 150k and EP offers that right now. My other choice for moving is Albuquerque which is comparable to EP but too cold in winter. I wish I could leave Seattle pretty much right now if possible. Its nice half the year but half the year its really ugly cloudy and depressing.

And the El Paso area is much older than the State of Texas (1836), the U.S. (1776), and Mexico (1821). It's Ciudad Juárez that's older and where the old Spanish mission was built in 1659 and it's still standing there today.

I use to live there many years ago - King's X is a good bar to go party at and they have a good Mexican restaurant there " Lucy's" you can also go on Transmountain road and hike up to " Cotton wood springs" There are some Caves way out there on Anthony gap that hardly anyone knows about that you can explore - El Paso at first seems like there is not a lot to do but it makes you more creative and then you find all kinds of things you didn't know were there. People here in Austin that are from El Paso will often have relatives that are visiting bring Chico's Taco's preserved in ice-coolers to re-heat here - so for all of those saying Chico's sucks you are ungrateful and take the good Mexican food you have there for granted.

As a current resident of Las Cruces, NM and as someone who visits this city often for business or for leisure, I have to say, this is such a beautiful city during the day or night! Not only does El Paso have a lot to offer, but southern New Mexico has a lot to offer as well such as historic town of Mesilla (located on the south end of I-10/Las Cruces), the White Sands National Park in Alamogordo, NM, and the beautiful Organ Mountains Desert Peaks National Monument located to the east of Las Cruces! All of these places are not too far from El Paso and I would recommend visiting those places all while taking in the sights and sounds of El Paso and far West Texas. I love both Las Cruces and El Paso and I'm proud to call this area home! ❤️

Might I add a couple more “to do’s” on this list.
    1. The US Border Patrol Museum, the only one in the nation and right next to it....
    2. The Local History Museum. Both take donations to visit and will occupy a couple of hours of neat history and cool artifacts.
    3. Ft. Bliss Military Museum. Great collection of memorabilia and history of the Army here in El Paso.
The next few items are within driving distance and if you live in El Paso, you should definitely take advantage of them
    4. Hike up Cristo Del Rey Mountain. Great views, nice trail with moderate level of effort.
    5. White Sands National Park. Over 70 square miles of natural white sand, rolling hills and gorgeous sunsets. (Bring saucers to sled on)
    5. Carlsbad Caverns. About a 2 hour drive but one of the 7 wonders of the world. UNBELIEVABLY huge!
    6. Ruidoso or Cloud Croft, NM. If the heat gets to be unbearable, take a hour and a half drive up the mountains to cool off and shop or camp.
    7. The Air Museum at Dona Ana Airport. 30 minutes away but some of the best aircraft and vintage cars this side of Texas. Very well done.
    8. Find a friend with a boat and visit Truth or Consequences to go boating. I was pleasantly surprised at the cool views and refreshing water.
    9. The Farmers Market in Las Cruces is worth the 40 minute trip, especially if you drive up through Stallman Farms Pecan Fields. Makes you forget you live in the desert. If time permits, after the market take a hike up the Oregon Mountains. Easy trail with benches to rest at on the way up. (Easy to moderate trail)
If you live in El Paso, these are a must see in my book. It will really open your eyes to the beauty of the southwest. Once you’ve done these then venture out to Albuquerque, Tucson and Santa Fe. I’ve lived here 19 years. Originally from Wisconsin but El Paso has grown on me. I’m officially Texan. ☺️

There are also tons of new subdivisions with great neighborhood bars and restuarants. El Paso still has that small town feel. If you like very commercialized and over priced meals and entertainment, El Paso is not for you. El Paso is very laid back with many things to do for families, you just have to look and open your eyes.

Yes over the bridge downtown.. they use to have a nice market over there with a bunch of little shops inside

Could you guys get a fold up map of El Paso and ask the cops to circle all the crime areas of El Paso and then drive through those blocks so we can see what those area;s look like so that will help us decide which areas to like in in El Paso...Thanks...That will be a very useful video for all of us that are interested in El Paso what areas to buy property in....Thanks

El Paso is pretty safe! Seriously! But if I were to live back there, I would move to the East Side or Horizon. It's less expensive and growing like crazy!

@@rjwije4874 East is great! I grew up on the east side. Horizon is technically not in El Paso but it's just out on the outskirts and growing rapidly. It's Far East El Paso.
