Some cities in all over Asia which were cultural centres like Delhi, Seoul, Beijing, Tokyo, Singapore are so similar. Asia is truly an amazing continent to explore. There are lot of similarities between different countries you won't even imagine (like the Indian style temple and gold inside in Tokyo). This is because in history Asia was well connected with trade and was a friendly place.

I would definitely love to visit there again, but with our sons next time. They do judo and kendo. This video makes me want to hop onto the very next plane to Tokyo!

The Tsukiji fish market limit mentioned is just to see the tuna auction very early in the morning. Anyone can go into the inner market after 9am; which is well worth the trip. You can see every kind of fish and other crazy sea creatures; more than any aquarium.

I am currently planning my second trip to Japan, and this video really help me plan my second trip :) Tips to those that are going to visist japan, be sure to buy a stamp book from the first temple / shrine you visit. In this stamp you can get exclusive collect stamps from each temple to add to your book . (stamps painted by monks)
i live about an hour and a half drive away in kashima, and i'll be staying in tokyo through christmas (there are some great christmas markets all around). this video really helped me to plan the weekend. I've been to tokyo many times and only go to the main places with friends. Shin-Okubo street is a great place if you enjoy all things Korean. It has a lot of Korean BBQ places where famous Korean artists eat when they are in Tokyo! :)
I highly recommend to visit Edo Tokyo Museum especially if you visit Ryogoku Sumo stadium since it is just behind the stadium. You can see Edo life style before it has become Tokyo. It was really interesting to a Japan born guy like myself.

You can reserve a tour of the Imperial Palace grounds for free! But it needs to be done a bit in advance so that they can do background checks and what not. You won't go inside anywhere or to the actual household, but you get a cool tour of the grounds with a lot of background information on the complex.
I saw a commercial of Airbnb and it got me interested in travelling (or at least watching travel videos lol) this was very helpful thanks I may visit (one day).

Tokyo Tower is a bright "orangey/reddish and white" steel version of the Eiffel Tower (TT is only a few feet taller than its iron Parisian counterpart). Because Sky Tree is not far away, I think Tokyo Tower has a new image to me: It is traditional, and "kawaii", while still remaining impressive in its own right. It really is an inimitable symbol of Tokyo.

Roppongi... Walking down a street in Roppongi i saw cars for tens of milions of Euros... in 20 minutes! To say that Roppongi is expensive and exclusive is an understatement.

Well, your 3 P's of Japan to me are extremely on point. I've never been to Japan, but the Japanese people I've met that came to our country are extremely polite and are very respectful. I also noticed they work extremely hard. I honestly never met a person of Japanese culture who I didn't like or admire. It's like the whole race was raised the exact same way to be respectful, hardworking, caring, etc. I wish my country could be the same.
Been to many of those places when I was stationed there 85-88. Unfortunately some you listed weren't there then. Sunshine 60 building Ikebukuro is cool, think it has one of the fastest express elevators in the world. Tokyo and Yokohama were my stomping grounds outside of Yokosuka.
Amazing, I recognized some of the places I've seen right off the bat during my three years in Yokosuka, during which I traveled to Tokyo on the weekends (Akihabara, the Tokyo Tower, Roppongi, the Tokyo Sky Tree, etc. I'm planning to take my fiancee to Japan after we get married and I believe she'll find this to be quite helpful. I never knew about the Yushukan War Museum until I saw this, but I'll certainly make it a stop on this trip. :)
I went to shibuya this summer,and if you go there,goto the "Lockup" Its a horror like restaurant and the foods really good. It was spooky 4 me since I'm weak to spooky stuff,but its really cool.

Awesome video! I've been to Japan 3 times now (the last time was in September 2014) and I was pretty surprised how many of the 22 things I had actually already done. Out of the list, I only missed 4, 6, 7, 12, 13, 17, 18, 19, and 22. Not bad I think! Your tempura soba segment literally made my stomach growl as I really miss the authentic stuff. I'm hoping to make it back in a few years; maybe for the 2020 Olympics (even though I know that it will be a zoo!). Thanks for posting!
