These are tough to rank. Some of my favorite movies from these franchises aren't of good quality. My least favorite movie from these is Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers. It looks like a bad '90s alternative MTV music video. The Thorn Cult plot was a huge mistake for parts 5 & 6. Plus all the quick cut editing makes me dizzy. It's literally very difficult for me to watch it.
33 movies shared between the 3 franchise this extremely tough to rank but here's my ranking 1. Halloween 2. A Nightmare On Elm Street 3. Friday The 13th Part II 4. Halloween II 5. Minds change and I’m sure most of your audiences ranks change over time as well, I know my ranks change haha. Great video homie , sending the good vibes 😎 💪 I appreciate all the work you put into your content !!!
You probably have one of the most controversial picks for number 1 🤣 My Top 5 would be 05. Halloween H20 04. A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge 03. Halloween 1978 02. A Nightmare on Elm Street 01. A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (Can you tell What my Favourite Franchise is)
Nightmare on elm Street part 2 gets so much unwarranted hate. They say it breaks the rules by allowing Freddy to come into the real world. But this is not the first or last time he does this. And his method for breaking into our world is pretty creative. He does it through possession. In the dream world he possesses Jesse's body until he is powerful enough to emerge from it. That's pretty scary. Freddy Krueger has never looked better and he really is at his scariest in this film. And this has my favorite Freddy Krueger one-liner of all time during the pool party massacre. "You are all my children now..."
Freddy's Revenge is my second favorite after the original. I really liked the possession angle and was kinda surprised no other entry in the franchise ever tried anything like it again. I mean, come on. It seems like a no-brainer. Ever hear of somnambulism? And no one else ever thought of Freddy possessing someone who was sleepwalking to try to kill someone in the real world? That concept writes its own tag-line: This time, it's a nightmare you CAN'T wake up from!
@@elzibiel I couldn't agree with you more and Freddy's revenge is my second favorite next to the original as well. I love Wes craven's nightmare equally, but it's technically not a Freddy movie as it is a demon using Freddy's form. But it's still Robert englund with the glove giving one of his scariest performances ever. So those are definitely my top three. The original, 2 and new nightmare. And don't get me wrong, I love a nightmare on elm Street 3, but I kind of feel like it's overrated. That's just my personal opinion. Fans just gush over that movie constantly and I just think there are better and scarier films in the franchise. Part 3 is loved because of the formula it nailed. It was the culmination of a perfect storm of good writing, interesting and likable characters, the return of the original Star and Freddy's last performance before he turned into a cartoon character. And those are definitely reasons to love this movie. But as a horror film, to me, it should stand on its own two legs for other reasons besides those. I love Freddy's revenge because it is just downright terrifying and Freddy has never been more nightmarish. I mean, you cannot be that makeup job, witch Freddy as I like to call him, with the more pronounced cheekbones, the contacts and everything. And I don't think anyone ever mentions this enough, it's the only Freddy movie where he actually has blades coming out of his fingers instead of wearing a glove. And I'm not counting New nightmare when I say this. I guess in a nutshell I'm trying to say that to me, part two is a more pure nightmare film. It's a bit more simple and just plain scarier. I appreciate the elements they added in and part 3 and the balance that they struck, but it's just not a scary. And Freddy's voice just does not do it for me in part 3. He went from a very deep and menacing voice in part 2 to a kind of high-pitched voice that sounds like something that would come out of a fairy tale trolls mouth. And his voice changes throughout the movie. It's as if they couldn't sell upon what effect they wanted to use on his voice. I don't know. It's really sounding like I hate part 3 but I don't. I just like part two better. And I just get so tired of hearing everybody gushing over part 3 like it's the greatest thing since sliced bread. There is not only one but several other films in the franchise that I like better than part 3. But as I always say, our differences in taste is what makes fandom interesting.
You could even argue he finds a way to get into the real world preemptively since he learned in part 1 that was his weakness. Hes gotta cut that shit at the bud when it comes to jesse
You make good points about Nightmare 2. I only saw it once when I was a teen in 2014, and I thought it kind of sucked. Maybe if I gave it another watch, I'd like it. I do remember it has two of Freddy's best lines, "You've got the body and I've got the brain", and "You are all my children now", and that pool party massacre was great. I'm planning on watching more classic slashers and horror films, so why not give Freddy's Revenge another shot?
Nightmare on Elm Street part 2 is extremely underrated. Freddy's at his darkest in this film and he genuinely scares me at times. Personally I'm a firm believer that Halloween 2 1981 is the definitive ending of Michael Myers and is honestly the best sequel.

Pretty harsh ranking for Ends, but since Kills at number 1 I can understand why you’re disappointed. Personally Ends is my second favourite Halloween after the original, I found the story to be refreshing. Out of all the sequels it came closest to matching the suspense Carpenter had created with the original. Also I love the ending, it honestly left me a little emotional as I love Laurie’s character. It’s JLC ‘s best work in the franchise. Absolutely I disagree with positivity, opposites attract after all lol. Still a good ranking regardless.
15:35 I think Slasher movies need to go back to nudity and having fun they have gotten too serious now they have gotten to the point were they have forgotten the all point in slasher movies like the recent Halloween movie's I don't care about some deep message they are trying to tell I want to see lots of cool kills and nudity remember what they said in Scream they basically said slasher movies have cool kills and nudity it dosnt need a deep story Leave the deep message's to movies like Midsomer or Jordan Peele movie's, I will say though I dont think sex and nudity should be in the Amityville sequels cus they are Ghost movies not Slasher movies they are not meant to be sleezy it's like imagin if a Conjuring movie had a sleezy sex scene it would be terrible cus it wouldn't feel right in that type of movie As someone that's bin a fan of slasher movies for years It feels like Slasher movies were about cool kills and nudity and then Scream came out and said we recognise that is what slasher movies is about but we are trying something different by having no cool kills, no nudity and a deep message and it worked for them but now it feels like other slasher movies are trying to copy Scream the last Slasher movies that felt like proper Slasher movies was Freddy vs Jason, Friday the 13th and Rob Zombies Halloween movies
Your old opinions shouldn't be embarrassing to you because they were your opinions at the time and you had the right to them. That's like saying other people's opinions are embarrassing if they had a similar view to your old opinions, and I'm sure you wouldn't say that about other people. I know a lot of people are more critical of themselves over other people, but you should respect your old opinions just as much as you respect other people's opinions when you don't agree with them.
Wow, pretty shocked that you have Halloween Kills at #1.. I absolutely hate that film lol, it's absolutely horrible besides the opening flashback scene, but to each their own.. I still haven't seen Halloween Ends, but only Halloween Resurrection is worse than Halloween Kills IMO..
33) Jason Goes to Hell 32) A Nightmare on Elm Street 5 31) Halloween 2 (2009) 30) Halloween 6 29) Halloween 5 28) Jason X 27) Friday the 13th: Part 3 26) New Nightmare 25) Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare 24) Friday the 13th: Part 7 23) Halloween Resurrection 22) Friday the 13th Part 5 21) Halloween H20 20) A Nightmare on Elm Street 4 19) Friday the 13th (1980) 18) Friday the 13th: Part 6 17) Halloween Kills 16) Halloween (2007) 15) A Nightmare on Elm Street 2 14) Halloween 4 13) A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010) 12) Freddy vs Jason 11) Jason Takes Manhattan 10) Friday the 13th: Part 2 9) Halloween 3: Season of the Wich 8) Halloween 2 (1981) 7) A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) 6) Friday the 13th (2009) 5) Halloween Ends 4) Halloween (1978) 3) Friday the 13th Part 4 2) A Nightmare on Elm Street 3 1) Halloween (2018) Great video, it's cool to see that someone appreciates Kills, Nightmare 2 and The New Blood as much as you do.
@@HauntedHippie something like that,. Has your Dad seen that one yet lol he'll be wtf in his nice polite way unlike me. I actually prefer Freddys dead to 5 at least it's a giggle 🤭
I haven't seen Halloween Ends yet as not out on dvd 📀 in England until sometime next year so I'm reading the book. I'm actually really enjoying it but I know there's stuff in the book not in the film. I understand your views though and appreciate them 👍 🐾 😊💜
Originally I was going to do my top 10 but instead it will be 20 as you can see by my ranking it was a little unfair to the other big 2 which I’m just not a big fan of if I’m being honest 1. Halloween (1978) 2. Halloween Ends (I’ll defend this film til the day I die and I see it as a love letter to John Carpenter and a closing chapter to the Haddonfield/Trauma trilogy) 3. Halloween (2018) 4. Halloween H20 5. Halloween Kills (The most rewatchable slasher imo) 6. Halloween III: Season of the Witch 7. Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers 8. A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) 9. Halloween 6 (Producer’s Cut) 10. Friday the 13th Part II (The only direct sequel on this list that surpasses the original) 11. A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge 12. Halloween II (1981) 13. Wes Craven’s New Nightmare 14. Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan 15. Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers 16. Friday the 13th (2009) 17. Friday the 13th Part IV: The Final Chapter 18. Friday the 13th (1980) 19. Friday the 13th Part V: A New Beginning 20. Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives
Wow, Halloween Kills at #1. I can definitely dig it. I really can’t understand the hate it gets. It probably has the best portrayal of Myers in the entire franchise. It also has some phenomenal kills. I also enjoyed the chase scene with Lindsey. Then obviously the ‘78 flashback was a great way to open the film leading into the great score/title sequence. Lastly, the mob vs. Myers scene at the end was so epic! Such an underrated scene. My top 10 would be: 1 - Halloween (1978) 2 - Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter 3 - Halloween III: Season of the Witch 4 - Halloween Kills 5 - Friday the 13th Part 2 6 - Halloween Ends 7 - Halloween 4 8 - Halloween (2018) 9 - Jason Lives 10 - A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)
Leatherface is iconic and one could even argue he should get more of the credit that always goes to Michael for kicking off the slasher craze. But I think it's a stretch to say he is just as popular as Michael, Freddy, and Jason.
😮1. Dream warriors 2. Nightmare on Elm Street 3. Halloween (1978) 4. Final chapter 1984 5. Friday pt2 (the best direction of the franchise) 6. Halloween 2 (1981) 7. Halloween 3: season of the witch 8. New nightmare 9. Halloween H20 10. Friday the 13th remake 11. Halloween 4 12. Halloween 5 (the most I laugh at anything in all 33 of these movies.) It needs to be watched as a European satire of exaggerated American culture. 13. friday pt7 14. Halloween ends 15. Friday pt 3 16. Halloween 6 17. Halloween Resurrection (its so shit but i enjoy it) 18. Dream Master 19. Halloween (2018) (abandons the brother sister angle only to emulate an even weaker, directionless version of it) 20. Nightmare 2 21. Jason lives (i dont get the hype at all) 22. Jason X 23. Friday part 5 24. Friday the 13th (1980) 25. Halloween Kills 26. Freddy Vs Jason 27. Nightmare on Elm Street 5 28. As you were talking about Part 5, I literally screamed "NOOOOOOO"! The entire movie's plot revolved around an argument over a chocolate bar! What were you thinking in your old rankings? I love ya, but that was stupid 😂😂😂
Ok, I read ya loud and clear I'll never apologise for leaving a long comment again. That scared the crap out of me! The real comment I had planned to write before the call out! : I first watched your older Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th series over this last summer. And since your last Friday The 13th ranking stream, I watched the first half of your old Nightmare on Elm Street series (prompted by a rewatch of your Nightmare comparison video no less) and the first half of your Friday the 13th series. Like I said before I jump around haha. And I thought to myself it would be so cool to have a new reaction video to these older videos. And now this drops like the literal next day! So I gotta say, STAY OUT OF MY HEAD KYLIE IT'S GETTING WEIRD NOW!! XD Seriously, I'm so glad you made this. I was literally thinking how cool a modern reaction video to the older ones could be. Even better than I thought! Oh and the thing about past Kylie that I was screaming in my head about the Friday the 13th series was just let continuity go! There really isn't any in any conventional continuity to speak and if there is it's clearly an accident. It will just hurt yourself trying to make sense of this nonsenseical series! It's fine Past Kylie just let it go. It's so much more enjoyable if ya just say, "Well that's what they're doing now! Whatever!!" haha I'm glad you can just flow with the series now. It's so much easier believe me! I'm pretty sure I tried making sense of the continuity as a teen. It does not work! I bet the nest time you watch Jason Goes to Hell you'll like it even more. It gets more enjoyable and easier to handle on each rewatch strangely enough! Loved the video. I won't apologise for leaving long comments again! And I forgot this last time, "Don't let the bugs get you down Kylie!"
Omg ranking Halloween Kills at #1 is badassssssssss. There is a reason Michael is still making movies and and successful over 40 years later. Something about him as a slasher is effective whether he’s more tame or being insane like in Kills 😊
I just watched both your rankings videos back-to-back and I'm pleased to see Friday 13th Part VI climb a lot higher this time around. It was my first introduction to the Friday 13th series when I was 16 and thought it was awesome (especially the "James Bond" style intro titles and the lightning strike resurrection scene). I never managed to get the same "kick" I got out of any of the other F13 films, I was chasing a high that was never quite there in the sequels. I wonder if that angry guy saw this new ranking and resubbed now you've ranked it higher lol.
I've been ranking these three for the last three months so I'll just give my top ten favorite horror/thriller films to break up my personal monotony. 10: Curse of Chucky 9: Friday the 13th 2009 8: Scream 7: Halloween Kills 6: Jason Lives 5: Halloween '78 4: Halloween 2018 3: Christine 2 A Nightmare On Elm Street (1984) 1: Halloween 2 (1981) A top three from Christine as I'd argue her film is better than most horror thrillers that came out in the last thirty years and some of Carpenters best work ever. Scream I find to be one of the best and scariest films ever due to the killers being two random high school kids! Curse of Chucky makes it in top 10 as his franchise is probably my favorite of any due to the heavy consistency, super fun storyline, characters, and general fun. This is coming from a twenty year old but so many horror films just don't do it for me anymore, I keep my list close and usually same. Nice to see such a different opinion set here as usually everyone is the same with minor tweaks
1. New nightmare (5/5) 2. Dream warriors (5/5) 3. Nightmare on Elm street 1984 (4.5/5) 4. Jason lives (4.5/5) 5. Friday the 13th 4 (4/5) 6. Halloween 1978 (4/5) 7. Friday the 13th 2 (3.5/5) 8. Halloween 4 (3.5/5) 9. Dream master (3/5) 10. Freddy vs Jason (3/5) :) Nice ranking. Mine has changed too
I swear Halloween Kills is only going to keep climbing in people’s rankings! It’s the most fun you’ll have in that entire franchise! It gives you exactly what you want in a Michael Myers movie and delivers it better than the others. Look past the “evil dies tonight” and the movie is a masterpiece! I would rank it second only behind the OG. Great job rankings these franchises!
I was happily on board until the last spot lol! I really liked Halloween 2018, and although I thought Kills was silly and not as good as 2018, I still enjoyed it - it was a fun time. And I enjoyed Anthony Michael Hall, and as you mentioned, the '78 set stuff. But Halloween Ends was a horrendous let down for me, and so a strange thing happened - after watching it, it kinda sullied my enjoyment of 2018 and Kills retroactively - I just didn't like them anymore because of where I now knew the story was headed. I'm new to your channel so haven't watched your Ends review yet, be interesting to hear what you thought! :)

And here's my list, from best to worst. None of the Friday movies made it into the top 10, but 7 of them (the first 7, actually) are in the top 20. I realize what Rob Zombie was trying to do, but his Halloween remake movies are crap anyway, same thing with David Gordon Green, but he didn't crash and burn as bad as Zombie, and at least produced one great movie (2018). And the acting has improved much over the years from Heather Langenkamp. 12 Halloween III Just to hate this part but after 3rd time viewing i was beginning to like it. 11. Halloween II Just a good continuation of the the original. I watch always part 1 and 2 back to back. Makes it look like one story. 10. Friday the 13th part 2 Ginny Fields is i think the best final girl of any horror movie. 09. Halloween H20 The best ending in a slasher movie I would have been fine with it of it was the end of Michael Myers and go with a different storyline in the sequels. 08. Halloween 4: the return of Michael Myers Was a pleasent surprise. Donald Pleasance gives his best performance as Dr. Loomis. And has probably the most likeable characters. Danielle Haris does a great job in this. 07. Halloween 2018 A new storyline and direct sequel to the original. Gone are the Dr. Loomis timeline and the H20 timeline. A very strong story and Michael Myers in top form. 06. Freddy vs Jason The one 10 years in the making after jason goes to Hell. The story doesn't mak much sense but we finally get a battle between 2 horror icons. Imagine there was a slasher universe like the MCU. Where Freddy, Jason, Michael, Chucky and other infamous killers live in the same universe. 05. A nightmare on elm 3 A great sequel with a group of kids who are all likeable and you don't want them to die. 04. A nightmare on elm street Really inventive if you die in your sleep You're dead. And everybody needs sleep. 03. Halloween 1978 The start of the slasher crave in the 80's. So many came out. Friday the 13th A nightmare on elm street Child's Play Sleepaway camp The burning and many more. Thank you John Carpenter for giving me so many great horror movies to watch. 02. Friday the 13th the final chapter Corey Feldman as Tommy Jarvis Jimbo dancing Rob dyer a character activily searching for Jason And The Dead scene of Jason with the machete 01. Friday the 13th part 6 A new Tommy Jarvis now played by Tom Matthews. A movie that is self aware And makes fun of itself. But never about Jason. It even calls out his viewers with Martin the Caretaker looking at the screen saing: some folks sure got a strange idea of entertainment. Sidenote Friday the 13th part 7 Jason goes to Hell and Jason X used to be a lot lower on my list. That changed after seeing the fan film rose blood on RUclips connecting the movies a bit.
Halloween Kills has grown on me a lot! I like it. I haven't seen all of the Freddy movies so I can't comment on them, BUT I love Halloween 1978, Halloween 4, Nightmare on Elmstreet, Friday 1, 2, 4, 6,7
I'm happy that New Blood gets the love it deserves. Those are my top 3 Fridays in that order. However, H20 while it's good, I cant get over how bad Michael looks. It's laughable and not menacing at all. Like why did Michael get Botox and have his eyebrows waxed??? 😭😭
ANOES 84 is my number one. Halloween Ends was my last place. I also put six Halloween's (13, 12, 5, 6, 10, and 8) before I put a Freddy or Jason and my lowest ranking Freddy movie was in my top 13. FvJ and the original were my top rated F13 movies.
Great ranking. I love them all personally. Friday the 13th and Child's play are childhood favorites of mine and will always be that way ever since i saw Friday part 6 and Childs play 3 as a kid. But the original Friday the 13th is overrated imo. It's boring too. Plus they kill an actual fucking animal in the movie. Not cool movie. Not cool. Awesome video though. I was really looking forward to this. The big 3 changed horror. But Billy and black Christmas did pave the way a little.
Don't get me wrong, I'm absolutely not saying that Halloween 5 isn't the messiest film out of these three franchises. But I AM saying that that is saying a whole hell of a lot, considering the three franchises in question. Not that I don't love these films dearly. But I mean.....come ON!!! 😁
Halloween Ends would have been great in the alternate universe where Carpenter and Hill were successful in converting it into an anthology series, imo...
The fact that Halloween:Resurrection isn’t ranked in the bottom two or three of that franchise absolutely blows my mind. That movie is an absolute abomination. But, I get everyone has their own opinion. That’s what makes the horror genre fun. One person can feel completely different about a movie than someone else. Halloween Ends is a good example of that.
People can say whatever they want about the first 20 minutes of the Friday remake now but in theaters people lost their minds cheering when the title card popped up and people realized that all of that killing was just a set up to the actual movie. It was the best movie crowd reaction I’ve ever seen in a live movie. Second place goes to when Freddy said how sweet, dark meat in fvj since my topic is crowd reactions. That was due to the fact that I was in a predominantly black crowd more than it being a great moment. Although, to piggy back on top of a piggy back, apparently black people make up a huge portion of horror audiences, which is why ll cool j got put in h20, so maybe it was a hit at all theaters like the opening to the Jason remake.
I can't really decide which horror franchise I love more I love them all equally that would be like asking me who do I like more Batman or Superman I just can't decide I feel like I've watched more of the Halloween movies than anything because Halloween was the first big horror franchise I ever watched I remember having Halloween marathons with my brother when I was a kid but as I got older I found out about Freddy and Jason and I love them I'm shocked they haven't gotten any movies in a while well I know why Jason hasn't but I'm not sure why Freddy hasn't had another movie I hope they both get one soon I miss them
Lol those are some controversial opinions you got there ma'am and I respect the courage. I heard stories about people saying that Halloween Resurrection is a good movie and that Halloween Kills is the best in the franchise around die hard Halloween fans and to this day nobody knows about their whereabouts .... Jk:)
You sound almost nonchalant when talking about movies but you give valid reasons for your opinions. I prefer Saw and Hellraiser to all three of these franchises as they are more intelligently written and performed and have much deeper storylines but you gave a great rundown on what I consider to be standard slasher fare and yes I own all of them on bluray :) Regardless, great watch thanks for that.
I always call it the big 4 Michael, Freddy, Jason, Leatherface Pinhead would be close to getting on the list but the reason he's not is cus when you see a picture there are usually 4 of them in the picture and it's usually them 4 but like I said Pinhead comes close and then after him it's Ghostface and Chucky and then every one else is below evan them
ONE OF THE MOST ANNOYING PARTS OF THE REMAKE OF NIGHTMARE ON ELM ST IS HOW NANCY BELIEVES THAT THE PARENTS WERE WRONG IN KILLING FREDDY BC HE WAS INNOCENT.
Honestly I agree with everything except I’d put Halloween kills close to the bottom. It thought it was too dreadful and cruel to have any fun with the kills despite how creative and well done they are. It was a movie that had a lot to say and I don’t think succeeded in saying most any of it.
just found this never done a ranking myself but you got to be one of the first to put Halloween kills at number 1 great ! tbh I love that movie as well , and could never understand why so much hate for it lol its def a top 3 of the Halloween movies for me
great list. Halloween Kills has definitely moved up my list as well. Not number 1 lol but still great. Where did you rank Ends again? I think I missed it.
Great ranking I disagree Wes Craven new nightmare is a masterpiece and I agree Heather langenkamp best but I actually like the 3rd act Freddy died the way he was killed
I enjoy seeing all 3 franchises ranked together as there is a wide range in quality from absolute classics to absolutely horrible and everything in between. It's also interesting seeing thoughts change over time. I still feel I need more time with both Halloween Kills and Ends to do a proper ranking. But some assorted thoughts: -This might make me a boomer but my bottom 3 will forever be the Nightmare on Elm Street Remake and both Robert Cummings' Halloween movies. I hated just about everything about Rob's remake minus some of the music and the actors. I did not find it well written at all nor scary in anyway. Above that the way the movie was done it wasn't fun in anyway. I can enjoy even the crappiest sequels in a schlocky fun way, but I can't vibe with this. The second remake I thought was worse initially but in hindsight I can see some merits in it. There are some interesting visuals and atmosphere in it. I just hate all the characters and dialogue. H2 is at least "it's own thing" unlike the remake that after Michael escapes it just recreates a bunch of scenes from the original. I think Rob has some talents visually as a director he just shouldn't write his own movies. It's a shame he made some classic music back in the day. The Nightmare remake managed to do the impossible, it made me appreciate Rob Zombie. At least Rob put effort in. The Nightmare remake will forever be the worst movie of the 3 franchises to me. There is legitimately nothing about the movie that I like. -I can definitely see Halloween 5 as the pick for dead last. I feel this movie is low-key one of the worst sequels ever for a horror movie franchise. Like some entries are more infamous like Halloween Resurrection or Jason X. Where they will be more known to casual audiences that haven't seen every last one of these movies. If you were to list all of the problems for Halloween 5 you would be here for days. Even worse than all of the questionable directions the movie goes into, the movie is a chore to get through. There are long stretches of the movie that just take forever. I still can't believe the ending to the movie. Loomis shoots Michael with a tranquilizer gun, drops a net on him, hits him with a board of wood, has a stroke and collapses on Michael then Michael is in jail and the Man in black shoots up the place. It feels like an ending an 8 year old would come up with but it's a real ending to a real movie. -The Friday The 13th remake is just kinda mid to me. I don't hate it like the other remakes. I just don't really like the look and feel of 2000s horror movies. There are some good aspects of the movie. It's the kind of movie that's better than the really bad ones but not as good as the good ones to me. -Even though I disagree I think it's cool seeing Halloween Resurrection listed not at the bottom. As much as I love these 3 franchises I can acknowledge a lot of these movies are technically bad. I feel like you can find defenders of every sequel that came out back in the 80s or 90s but Halloween Resurrection seems to be the one that nobody likes at all. And I totally get it, I'm not saying it's good but I can see enjoyment in it as a so bad it's good time capsule of the early 2000s. Plus it gave the world "Trick or treat, Muthafucker!" -Freddy vs Jason will always hold a special place in my heart. I saw this in theaters a couple weeks before my 13th birthday. I had seen a couple Fridays including the original but knew next to nothing about Freddy other than the fact that he was a killer guy like Jason. On that night in 2003 this movie was the coolest thing I had ever seen. This movie got me into horror movies. There are flaws in it and it does feel very dated. But I will always love it. -I've also always loved Nightmare 2. I remember a time when that was considered the worst one. Freddy always seemed his darkest in this one.
A much younger me would have been shocked and appalled that anyone suggest Halloween Kills is better than the original Halloween, Nightmare 1, Dream Warriors, or even a couple of the F13's. But I gotta respect daring to be different. And certainly I've changed my mind about various movies through the years. Rock on!
Bam! Finally someone agrees with me that Kills is the best of all of them. Such a fantastic movie. Then two would be OG Halloween. Great video once again!

Great re-rank! Glad to see you come around on Nightmare 3 and Friday 6. They're just fun movies, but they stay true to their franchises still. As good as acting you'll find for slasher fare standards, likeable characters, and competent focused plots.
Old Kylie was on point with Halloween II (2009). Granted, watched it like last week for the 1st time and it makes me wonder why everyone was going crazy for toilet paper in 2020 when this was readily available. Who knows? Maybe it will get upgraded to diaper status in a few years for me.
Here are my lease favorites in the franchise Halloween 5 A Nightmare On elm part 5 Friday the 13th part 5 Halloween Resurrection Freddy's Dead Friday The 13th part 8 Halloween 2018 Here is my favorites horror movie is big 3 franchises 1)A Nightmare On Elm Street 3
If you haven't seen The Hidden check it out I think it's where Jason goes to Hell got its ideas from 🤔🤔
These are tough to rank.
It's been 2 years since the original ranking...

Your comments are the best truly hahaha
This is dope Desi! I love Dream Warriors.
I guess I have to get around to Jason Lives now…
Ahhh yeah keep these re-rankings going Kylie!! It’s super kick ass and shows how much we grow in a year or two! Minds change and I’m sure most of your audiences ranks change over time as well, I know my ranks change haha. Great video homie , sending the good vibes 😎 💪 I appreciate all the work you put into your content !!!
Big agree!
You probably have one of the most controversial picks for number 1 🤣
My Top 5 would be
05. Halloween H20
04. A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge
03. Halloween 1978
02. A Nightmare on Elm Street
01. A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (Can you tell What my Favourite Franchise is)
I may have an idea 😂
H20 is a cinematic abortion
Agree.I used to hate that installment. But after watching it a couple more times in the past few years it definitely has grown on me.
Yo let’s go ! Congrats on all the new subs

Ends Is the WORST in the best Franchise I hate it with a passion Kylie... Merry Christmas to you and your family.✌🏼✌🏼
The world needs more Halloween 5 hate.
15:35 I think Slasher movies need to go back to nudity and having fun they have gotten too serious now they have gotten to the point were they have forgotten the all point in slasher movies like the recent Halloween movie's I don't care about some deep message they are trying to tell I want to see lots of cool kills and nudity remember what they said in Scream they basically said slasher movies have cool kills and nudity it dosnt need a deep story
Leave the deep message's to movies like Midsomer or Jordan Peele movie's, I will say though I dont think sex and nudity should be in the Amityville sequels cus they are Ghost movies not Slasher movies they are not meant to be sleezy it's like imagin if a Conjuring movie had a sleezy sex scene it would be terrible cus it wouldn't feel right in that type of movie
As someone that's bin a fan of slasher movies for years It feels like Slasher movies were about cool kills and nudity and then Scream came out and said we recognise that is what slasher movies is about but we are trying something different by having no cool kills, no nudity and a deep message and it worked for them but now it feels like other slasher movies are trying to copy Scream the last Slasher movies that felt like proper Slasher movies was Freddy vs Jason, Friday the 13th and Rob Zombies Halloween movies
Jason Takes Manhattan is like the best Friday the 13th movie :(
Wow, pretty shocked that you have Halloween Kills at #1.. I absolutely hate that film lol, it's absolutely horrible besides the opening flashback scene, but to each their own.. I still haven't seen Halloween Ends, but only Halloween Resurrection is worse than Halloween Kills IMO..
#bringbckshame2023 🤘
Said it before, will say it again - I am a big fan of Zombie's Halloween, as its always been the only one I want to watch

Great video, it's cool to see that someone appreciates Kills, Nightmare 2 and The New Blood as much as you do.
That creepy kid in Alices dreams gives me the creeps. Didn't need to make a young child act like Freddy he's meant to be a bun in his mams oven
I know why was he like 10 😭😭
@@HauntedHippie something like that,. Has your Dad seen that one yet lol he'll be wtf in his nice polite way unlike me. I actually prefer Freddys dead to 5 at least it's a giggle 🤭
I love Halloween kills BUT WHAT?!?
I haven't seen Halloween Ends yet as not out on dvd 📀 in England until sometime next year so I'm reading the book. I'm actually really enjoying it but I know there's stuff in the book not in the film. I understand your views though and appreciate them 👍 🐾 😊💜
I think I’m the only one who agrees with here on Halloween Kills
Originally I was going to do my top 10 but instead it will be 20 as you can see by my ranking it was a little unfair to the other big 2 which I’m just not a big fan of if I’m being honest
1. Halloween (1978)
2. Halloween Ends (I’ll defend this film til the day I die and I see it as a love letter to John Carpenter and a closing chapter to the Haddonfield/Trauma trilogy)
3. Halloween (2018)
4. Halloween H20
5. Halloween Kills (The most rewatchable slasher imo)
6. Halloween III: Season of the Witch
7. Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers
8. A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)
9. Halloween 6 (Producer’s Cut)
10. Friday the 13th Part II (The only direct sequel on this list that surpasses the original)
11. A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge
12. Halloween II (1981)
13. Wes Craven’s New Nightmare
14. Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan
15. Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers
16. Friday the 13th (2009)
17. Friday the 13th Part IV: The Final Chapter
18. Friday the 13th (1980)
19. Friday the 13th Part V: A New Beginning
My top 10 would be:
1 - Halloween (1978)
2 - Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter
3 - Halloween III: Season of the Witch
4 - Halloween Kills
5 - Friday the 13th Part 2
6 - Halloween Ends
7 - Halloween 4
8 - Halloween (2018)
9 - Jason Lives
10 - A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)
Heyy halloween 1978 was the best scary movie ever in history hands down

I've been waiting for this ilyy
Out of curiosity: why is Texas Chainsaw Massacre not apart of this discussion? Leatherface is just as popular as Jason, Freddy, and Michael.
Leatherface is iconic and one could even argue he should get more of the credit that always goes to Michael for kicking off the slasher craze. But I think it's a stretch to say he is just as popular as Michael, Freddy, and Jason.
😮1. Dream warriors
2. Nightmare on Elm Street
3. Halloween (1978)
4. Final chapter 1984
5. Friday pt2 (the best direction of the franchise)

7. Halloween 3: season of the witch
8. New nightmare
9. Halloween H20
10. Friday the 13th remake

12. Halloween 5 (the most I laugh at anything in all 33 of these movies.) It needs to be watched as a European satire of exaggerated American culture.

16. Halloween 6

As you were talking about Part 5, I literally screamed "NOOOOOOO"! The entire movie's plot revolved around an argument over a chocolate bar! What were you thinking in your old rankings?
I love ya, but that was stupid 😂😂😂
Definitely need to do those ranking again when you’re 30.
XD
Seriously, I'm so glad you made this.
And I forgot this last time, "Don't let the bugs get you down Kylie!"
reading that email made me pause the video and throw up because WHAT FOR THE ACTUAL HELL IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE
Omg ranking Halloween Kills at #1 is badassssssssss.
Fan of all 3 but Halloween franchise will always be my favorite.
I've been ranking these three for the last three months so I'll just give my top ten favorite horror/thriller films to break up my personal monotony.
10: Curse of Chucky
9: Friday the 13th 2009
8: Scream
7: Halloween Kills
6: Jason Lives
5: Halloween '78
4: Halloween 2018
3: Christine
2 A Nightmare On Elm Street (1984)
1: Halloween 2 (1981)
A top three from Christine as I'd argue her film is better than most horror thrillers that came out in the last thirty years and some of Carpenters best work ever.
1. New nightmare (5/5)
2. Dream warriors (5/5)
3. Nightmare on Elm street 1984 (4.5/5)
4. Jason lives (4.5/5)
5. Friday the 13th 4 (4/5)
6. Halloween 1978 (4/5)
7. Friday the 13th 2 (3.5/5)
8. Halloween 4 (3.5/5)
9. Dream master (3/5)
10. Freddy vs Jason (3/5)
:) Nice ranking.
33. Halloween 5 revenge of Michael Myers

3. ANOES 3 Dream Warriors
2. Nightmare on elm street 84
1. Halloween 1978
I call the two later movies in his trilogy Halloween Kills Two Hours and Halloween Ends Thankfully.
1. A Nightmare on Elm Street

16 A nightmare on elm 2
15 a nightmare on elm 4
14 Friday the 13th
Still rewatchble the jumpscare at the end is legendary and mrs. Voorhees is terrifying
13 Wes Craven's New nightmare
So meta Robert Englund playing himself and Even Wes Craven's in it.
And the acting has improved much over the years from Heather Langenkamp.
12 Halloween III
Just to hate this part but after 3rd time viewing i was beginning to like it.
11. Halloween II
Just a good continuation of the the original. I watch always part 1 and 2 back to back. Makes it look like one story.
10. Friday the 13th part 2
Ginny Fields is i think the best final girl of any horror movie.
09. Halloween H20
The best ending in a slasher movie
I would have been fine with it of it was the end of Michael Myers and go with a different storyline in the sequels.
08. Halloween 4: the return of Michael Myers
Was a pleasent surprise.
Donald Pleasance gives his best performance as Dr. Loomis.
And has probably the most likeable characters. Danielle Haris does a great job in this.
07. Halloween 2018
A new storyline and direct sequel to the original.
Gone are the Dr. Loomis timeline and the H20 timeline.
A very strong story and Michael Myers in top form.
06. Freddy vs Jason
The one 10 years in the making after jason goes to Hell.
The story doesn't mak much sense but we finally get a battle between 2 horror icons.
Imagine there was a slasher universe like the MCU.
Where Freddy, Jason, Michael, Chucky and other infamous killers live in the same universe.
05. A nightmare on elm 3
A great sequel with a group of kids who are all likeable and you don't want them to die.
04. A nightmare on elm street
Really inventive if you die in your sleep You're dead. And everybody needs sleep.
03. Halloween 1978
The start of the slasher crave in the 80's. So many came out.
Friday the 13th
A nightmare on elm street
Child's Play
Sleepaway camp
The burning and many more.
Thank you John Carpenter for giving me so many great horror movies to watch.
02. Friday the 13th the final chapter
Corey Feldman as Tommy Jarvis
Jimbo dancing
Rob dyer a character activily searching for Jason
And The Dead scene of Jason with the machete
01. Friday the 13th part 6
A new Tommy Jarvis now played by Tom Matthews.
A movie that is self aware
And makes fun of itself.
But never about Jason.
It even calls out his viewers with Martin the Caretaker looking at the screen saing: some folks sure got a strange idea of entertainment.
Sidenote Friday the 13th part 7
Jason goes to Hell and Jason X used to be a lot lower on my list.
Totally agree about Halloween Kills. My second favorite of the franchise. Glad to see it getting some love
I always call it the big 4 Michael, Freddy, Jason, Leatherface
Pinhead would be close to getting on the list but the reason he's not is cus when you see a picture there are usually 4 of them in the picture and it's usually them 4 but like I said Pinhead comes close and then after him it's Ghostface and Chucky and then every one else is below evan them
Halloween is the ultimate franchise out of the 3. Friday 13th is a close 2nd and Nightmare a very close third!
It's hilarious she makes such great improvements on the original rankings and then we get to the number 1 spot lol. Halloween kills is good though.
Nice to see someone willing to change their opinion on things. F13 part 2 deserves more love though.👍
It was a movie that had a lot to say and I don’t think succeeded in saying most any of it.
just found this never done a ranking myself but you got to be one of the first to put Halloween kills at number 1 great ! tbh I love that movie as well , and could never understand why so much hate for it lol its def a top 3 of the Halloween movies for me
Oh hell yeah Halloween kills at #1 that's what I am talking about god bless you kylie ❤❤❤❤❤
I’m not gonna bother ranking every single one so here’s the 2 people care about
33: halloween 6
1: og nightmare
great list. Halloween Kills has definitely moved up my list as well. Not number 1 lol but still great. Where did you rank Ends again? I think I missed it.
#25
Need more pretty girls really into horror! Like nearly impossible to find outside of the internet. Ohio sucks!
Great ranking I disagree Wes Craven new nightmare is a masterpiece and I agree Heather langenkamp best but I actually like the 3rd act Freddy died the way he was killed
Kylie agreed with you Halloween kills, nightmare on em 1, both great movies
I enjoy seeing all 3 franchises ranked together as there is a wide range in quality from absolute classics to absolutely horrible and everything in between. It's also interesting seeing thoughts change over time. I still feel I need more time with both Halloween Kills and Ends to do a proper ranking. But some assorted thoughts:
-This might make me a boomer but my bottom 3 will forever be the Nightmare on Elm Street Remake and both Robert Cummings' Halloween movies.
Plus it gave the world "Trick or treat, Muthafucker!"
-Freddy vs Jason will always hold a special place in my heart.
Halloween #1, F-13th #2, Nightmare #3 franchises.
A much younger me would have been shocked and appalled that anyone suggest Halloween Kills is better than the original Halloween, Nightmare 1, Dream Warriors, or even a couple of the F13's. But I gotta respect daring to be different. And certainly I've changed my mind about various movies through the years. Rock on!
Gotta say I was surprised to see Kills at 1 but am stoked! Definitely ranks very high on my list too lol
Bam! Finally someone agrees with me that Kills is the best of all of them. Such a fantastic movie. Then two would be OG Halloween. Great video once again!
We are on an island 😭
@@HauntedHippie im on the same island as you and event horizon..lol..
I disagree about part 8. It's a great film in my opinion.
It's so interesting to see others take on these franchises. I kove Halloween 5 despite how much hate it gets lol 😂

@SamoaVsEverybody_814 yes. I adored it. I wanted something new for this movie and I got what I wanted. So yes. Number 1.
Is it the recency bias? Hahah
@@HauntedHippie I can get why people hate it, but I watched it 6 times by now, and I loved it more at every rewatch. Don’t hate me…
@SamoaVsEverybody_814 lol I understand 😅
@SamoaVsEverybody_814 thanks
you are the most naturally beautifulest and funniest sinister secret third thing i’ve ever seen in my life.
Great re-rank! Glad to see you come around on Nightmare 3 and Friday 6. They're just fun movies, but they stay true to their franchises still. As good as acting you'll find for slasher fare standards, likeable characters, and competent focused plots.
You’re too funny. Also you speak Spanish???
Old Kylie was on point with Halloween II (2009). Granted, watched it like last week for the 1st time and it makes me wonder why everyone was going crazy for toilet paper in 2020 when this was readily available. Who knows? Maybe it will get upgraded to diaper status in a few years for me.
HAHAH
Rob zombies halloween is my 5th favourite on the list
Hallowen ends its on my lowest in my list. I got so bored... good thing I didn't go to the theaters
I'm glad someone else appreciated halloween kills as much as I do it gets way too much undeserved hate

Your gorgeous and plus a horror fan love your videos keep it up
The big 3 have always been Halloween, A Nightmare on Elm Street and Scream for me... is that just me??
It's normally considered Halloween, Friday the 13th and A Nightmare on Elm Street. Scream is considered like the 4th most iconic.
