When traffic comes to a stop on your side of the bridge and you get stuck on it and the other direction is still going, you can feel the bridge bouncing up and down quite a bit. I recently worked in Westlake for 6 weeks. Westlake and Lake Charles are nice little towns and the Shell Beach Drive area is particularly beautiful. The I-10 bridge however, is the most ill-designed, dangerous piece of crap I have ever encountered. I had been over it before, once or twice, but when you cross it every day you begin to understand just how bad it is, from an engineering and capacity standpoint. And I'm a Kentuckian, who used to cross the I-75 Brent Spence bridge every day for 4 decades. These are two of the most over worked, out-of-date bridges in the nation. Let's get these bridges replaced or at least upgraded/ augmented. Only a second bridge will suffice on I-75, and I suggest the I-10 in Lake Charles should be entirely torn down and replaced. God bless the citizens of the Lake Charles area, I love you all. Uncle Ray Ray
