    Great, informative review!
We've had our Model Y performance for two months now, and it's absolutely the nicest car i've owned!
The fact that it does over the air updates means that even after you've purchased the car, the car keeps getting better and better! The blind spot monitoring feature demo'd in this review, my car didn't initially have it. About two weeks after we purchased the car, an OTA update added that great feature!
We've also had a feature which turn on heat seats automatically (if you choose) whenever the heater is turned on, and sets it to the same setting as the heater...if the heater is on high, seat warmer will be set to high, etc. Again, another feature added after we took delivery!
They also added additional video services you can watch while in the car, so now it has Tic Tok, Disney +, RUclips, plus several other services! Sonic the Hedgehog was also added.
    Great car!
My wife finds herself going to pick our daughter up early, just so she can sit in the car and watch videos , play video games or whatever, while waiting for our daughter to get out of school!

Test drove the model Y today. I really like the upgrades over my model 3 however it did feel less agile and noticeably bigger, I really didn't like the smaller wing mirrors either.
I think if you really need the extra leg room and big boot then it's worth it otherwise I'd say the model 3 is a better option.

Good review thanks. My wife and I just ordered one three days ago. We test drove the Y a couple of months back and some other EVs and hybrids. Nothing compared to the Y. Loads of room for my long legs and my tall daughters and 2 dogs. I love the fact that it didn't feel like any other car. The white interior adds to this feeling of driving a spaceship. One thing we were caught out on (and this I guess is our fault for not researching better) the cost of installing the home charger. It's £425 itself and approx £1000 to get it installed. Plus a major ballache answering all the questions from the certified installer on our electrical system in our house. But, you live and learn and we are the first in our family to go EV so at least we can advise friends and family if they decide to go down this route.
It's safe to say my wife and I are excited to get this car, going to fill the next 3-4 months watching review videos like this!
Oh, and one last thing the reviewer said youw ould be the coolest mum on the school run.... When we told our 13 year old daughters we had ordered a Tesla they were mortified. Apparently it will be embarrassing to be picked up and dropped off. So school bus it is for them then!

    • @gordon4385

You really don't need the home charger: the mobile charger (which used to be included) only costs $250 and is only a bit slower than the wall-mounted one.

I've had my Model Y for 3 weeks now and I don't get everyone complaining about climate controls on the touchscreen.
I've had that climate menu up 2 times since delivery: the first day to set everything to automatic (including heated seats) + initial airflow setup and the second time to activate heated stearing wheel on a very cold days where I forgot to preheat the cabin.

Super review!! I was a huge Tesla fan for years, as I love the tech, until other makers started to make EVs. I'm a BMW owner, and have just discovered the i4 edrive40. I prefer some buttons, and a more familiar feel to a car, rather than feeling like I'm in a scandanavian space ship. In my humble opinion, the i4 has more range, looks better, inside & out, handles like a proper sports car, and you can still fit the family & luggage in too. Charges up to 205kw, so like the Y, 80% arrives in 30 mins or so. Plus, my wife hates the look of Teslas 🤣. So, i4 it is then. 😁

    The instrument-cluster - screen - in-front-of-you issue.
It's all down to Tesla's design language for the Model 3. If you want a second screen in front, there is the Model S and Model X. There won't be a screen in Model 3 or Y because, and that's not all due to autonomy, it's a minimalistic design choice. Tesla wasn't the first to have a centered screen for relevant driving data though, they just took it further with that big one do-everything-screen. So, you don't really need a second screen like in the other models. If you just want to, well that's a different thing.

Good car but I think it's way too expensive, as are all other teslas. In Sweden cheapest TM3 LR is about 63 000€
Hoping for Sono Motors Sion or the Dacia Spring that your team covered already. I could make due with 250km range if it has fast charging.

I love almost everything about this car except the fact that it doesn't have an instrument cluster behind the steering wheel. I want to see pertinent driving infos in front of me.

I think people make a bigger deal about it than what it really is. Speed is at the top right/left corner so it's really easy to see it. I drive an M3 and never had an issue with that.

Very nice but what do you do if you run out of battery in the middle of nowhere? You can't carry a spare can of petrol or diesel with you, nor can you phone a friend to bring one to you...

In a worst case scenario,Could you find anywhere in the UK that's 300 miles away from a plug socket? Even Clarkson, ignoring rapid charge options, couldn't do that..

I've been driving ICEs for half a century, so I need quite some converting to these weird, high-tecky vehicles. At the moment, I get it that Tesla are in a league of their own; and this model looks like a great replacement for our Jaguar E-Pace. Question is, as the video states there are no dealers, where on earth does one buy Teslas? (I'm in the U of K.)

I think they have showrooms where you can view and test drive the cars but you order it online if you want to buy. It might seem odd to some people but at least you don't have to pay the dealer markups

Enjoyed the road test. Still can't appreciate the looks of a vehicle that has the design of a jelly mould and over the years that aspect of Tesla hasn't diminished. On the plus side I like the space and convenience. I would enjoy the excellent performance for about month but would continued bursts use up the tyres to quickly? Finally, is there a heads up display an option?

did you all drive a prius before? did you ever heard people complaining toyota prius does not have a speed gauge before the steering wheel? no one heard of it. It has been 15 years of Prius, no one mention that...
