    It could be nice to add a rooftop terrace or garden to the top of one of those buildings that backs on to the upper platform by the bridge. It seems like a good spot for some story telling that wouldn't cover anything else up too much. They could be accessed via a small staircase on the upper platform that cuts through that band of greenery you've added.

    The scaffolding construction part is fucking A+. Not my place to say but I'd recommend a full construction scene - road or bridge work, cones, yellow vests, foreman, crane, tractor.
    Don't matter where you go there's construction. disneyland, interstates, middle of cities, country roads. Construction scenes allow for the breaking of rules..... straight lines, colors off, holes, broken segments, paths that don't fit together. anything can go!! dirt pile, rock pile, allows mud and surface texture and wetness. infinite possibilities with construction scenes! Can make a building face exposed and being built, can show pipes underground!! one big pipe exposed in the direction of the town would give the illusion that these pipes are everywhere under the city.
    anyway, you already know all this as you are a lego god and don't need my input. thank you for the videos. you're amazing. A+ talent beyond words. be well.

    little suggestion, bridges are typically no passing zones so the line down the middle on the bridge should be solid. i looked at bridges in Austria since you mentioned that's where you're basing it on and 2 lane bridges (one in each direction) have solid white lines and bridges with multiple in each direction have double solid white lines. Loving this build!

    • @paulbeneder9337
      @paulbeneder9337 Год назад +9

      It depends on the situation if there is a solid line or not. For bridges with only one lane per direction it is very common in Austria to continue the broken line, sometimes you can only recognize that there is bridge because there are railings on the sides. 🤷🏻‍♂️

    i feel that with such a prominent view from up by the top by the old style staircase, some type of resturant or cafe with outdoor seating area will fit well in the corner of the top platform by the bridge.
    with the fountain plaza right there, it seems common to find some type of food serving connected to it, and i think the corner is a good spot.
    maybe even make it as a 1 storey building wwith a roof serving area with plenty of flowers for more tiers. lower platform up to the upper platform, then roof serving area, and finally up to the level of the two storey houses.
    could let you maybe get in a few windows towards to audience on the upper floor of the residential house behind the resturant

    There's one thing bugging me about the upper platform, however I don't know if it's too late or too annoying to address (or maybe not even that big of a concern). The ground is all around very uniform color wise. The roads and the sidewalks are not visually separated since they are the same color. Luckily the painted lines on the road do help a lot with that, but I don't know. Maybe it could be nice to have the sidewalks being a different color. Could even play around with different color patterns like those old timey brick sidewalks that you see in some cities in Europe. I never felt the same thing with the earlier lower city section because there would either be more ground variations (with different terraces, parking spots, etc.) or the sidewalk areas would be smaller. The upper city and the "new" lower city brought these big sidewalk sections and with it a new form of color uniformity. The grass areas could have suffered from a similar issue, but since they are covered in vegetation and usually have more verticality to them, it never comes off as an issue. The docks used to have the same issues (in my opinion) in the old layout, but I think you addressed it perfectly in the recent updates. I know it's probably annoying work, but I figured I might as well share since you seem to be looking at some of the comments under your videos.
    Anyway, again thanks for the content. I said it before, but you're the only channel on RUclips I stop everything whenever I see a new upload. Big fan of your content. It's a shame the next update is going to take longer, but honestly in the end it will only make it more fun when it gets here. By the way, if you had some sort of Patreon or channel member program, I'd gladly pay to support you and your content.
    Cheers

    5. crows near the scarecrow

    2. some people enjoying a game of chess, cards or something else like that
    some easter eggs for e.g.:

    Pedestrian crossings with light I think are called Pelican crossings here in the UK. They're used in city-centres as well as busy areas and near secondary schools (primary schools tend to have lollipop people.... people with stop signs who manually stop traffic).
    Zebra crossings are just the white stripes with no lights. Cars are supposed to give way to pedestrians, without the need for lights. They're used more in quieter areas.

    Have you thought about putting little pop culture references here and there? Perhaps a Lego Doctor stepping out of his Lego TARDIS, or Scarface in something to do with the mafia story. I think that would be fun for people to spot when they come to visit! Almost like a little easter egg.

    2:30 man, you could add some 1x1 snot bricks on that crosswalk so that you could pose minifigs crossing the road. great update, btw.

    Absolutely love how your city is evolving … hope to be able to come visit when you open the museum.
    Couple ideas for future updates;
    1. Public toilets
    2. Crazy golf course
    3. Botanical gardens / city park
    4. Casino .. opportunity to extend the mafia story

    I've loved these videos for so long, and finally came up with a suggestion. I think a bike shop would be nice whenever you have another store building. I noticed the city has a lot of bikers, so it would make sense to have a bike shop. And the rural area could have a small brewery or something, with the big vats outside

    I'm reposting it here because I wrote late under the last video and I'm not sure that my comment was seen: To the left of the village, I will see a large river with a leisure center. The river would originate on the horizon and flow towards the visitor. I think you will have to make a hole to create a bed for the river below. Maybe kayaking on the river and tree climbing activities in a nearby forest with a wooden suspension bridge over the river. I don't know if it would go well with the modern style of the future airport but in my head it looks good. Ho and as for the train tracks, I was thinking of a metal style bridge with triangle reinforcements. A truss bridge. I hope you like these ideas. You and your brother are forming a great team. well done!

    To better show the effect of the mountains being very far away, a good idea could be to have a build like a cable car or wires that runs up the mountain and get smaller as it goes, or the build at the top is a smaller version of the one at the bottom

    I’m not joking when I say this but working Lego traffic lights were literally what I dreamed of having when I was a kid. There’s probably a Christmas wish list somewhere from when I was 5 asking specifically for them because I thought Santa could make it happen

    I think you should add a mill pond with ducks for the waterwheel, because that is what most mills are like here in the UK, with a large pond to power them when the water is low. Also, I think it would be cool, if on a bridge (maybe the other side of the main bridge when you expand that far), you have a walking/cycling path halfway between the road below and the road above, as that is how they do it in countries such as the Netherlands, as walkers and cyclists don't have to go down so far to pass under a road.
    I'm loving the progress on your city, well done!
