    Nobody else’s information is as detailed as his. Entertainment purpose only? No kidding. We can use his knowledge and skills for commercial purpose LOL.
    He is THAT good. Thank you so much.
    I’d appreciate it if you could explain a bit more on the difference between “equirectangular” and “equisolid angle” lenses, which 3D/360 cameras use which type of lenses, and how these lenses affect our video editing workflows. If we know which videos come from which type of lenses, theoretically we can edit any 3D(≈spatial)/VR180(immersive) videos regardless of the hardware from which they came.

    Master Hugh, the imitators will have to study this new tutorial in depth lol!!! Master, don't forget that we have doubts about how to use the FB360 Encoder for Muxing, because the FB360 Encoder does not accept ProRes files. We do not want to use mp4 with H264 or H265 codecs, so all we can do is export ProRes 8K and publish it on RUclips as you taught us in the previous tutorial. In this case, our step with Reaper and FB is dead! Big hug!❤❤❤

    • @hughhou
      @hughhou  2 месяца назад +2

      Mmmmm, you don't use FB360 for RUclips release tho. On Meta is H265 only so FB360 work fine. For RUclips is only 4-ch you can use Premiere or just mux them together and use the Google Spatial Injection tool. I will figure out a more streamline Resolve workflow now Resolve 19 support ambisonic audio finally!

    • @acena360
      @acena360 2 месяца назад

      @@hughhou I miss FB360 running in Reaper in third order! If we use ProRes export in Premiere, we are restricted to 4 ch. And if we use H265 export for FB360 Encoder we have a loss of image quality. Does H265 also have a limit of up to 60Mbps? Maybe this fouxi ambisonic in Resoove is the solution! Thanks master!

    Hello Hugh, great tip to level 360-video in Qoocam studio. But too bad you cant set keyframes in 360 editing mode. Hopefully Kandao can add this in the future.

    • @hughhou
      @hughhou  Месяц назад +1

      Why you need keyframe in 360 mode? Any keyframe you should do it in NLE - as the smoothing is better. Keyframe to only keep the camera straight not keyframe pov (which make people sick in VR). BTW, we are coming to PARIS at Oct!!

    • @ChristiaanRoest79
      @ChristiaanRoest79 Месяц назад +1

      @@hughhou Because the horizon isnt always off in the same way. You can straighten the horizon with the grid on moment A and it doesnt have to be straight at moment B. I think keyframes in 360-mode would be very useful. It works the same way with levelling with Davinci resolve fusion.

    Thank you very much in advance.

    • @hughhou
      @hughhou  2 месяца назад +1

      You probably want to "pre-comp" all the KartaVR effects or even render in place everything before use tracking. Then tracking just work like normal video. The idea in VFX is always "render in place" before you do another GPU intensive task - like tracking. As long as you use ProRes as suggested in this video, you can render as many pass as you want to speed up your process (if not, it will be a long wait as your GPU might run out of VRAM for doing so many things at once). I hope this help!

    Is there a difference in quality from the insta360 & qoocam software to ProRes ? Should all insta360 x4 user use Qoocam export tool instead ? I've also had multiple clip to export, and it asked me more question in my export than it did for you. Ask me for direction lock, denoise and a few others... Maybe I have a newer version of insta360, or it because I'm on windows, or when you select multiple clips, you get a different option set... I let them all at the default, and let my computer export them and we will see what happen.

    • @hughhou

      Oh no, this is just a good hack. But if you know how to adjust level, you can just go from Insta360 Studio to Resolve as Resolve in kvrViewer or ReframeUltra can also adjust level. I do that for Premiere edit as Premiere latest 2024 having some issue on VR rotate sphere and I need to use Qoocam Studio to save my a$$.

    Hey Hugh. I think I have a beginner question.... maybe will be helpful to more people. I have KvrViewer on an Adjustment Clip. I have reframed the shot. Now I wish to ad some speed ramps to it, but when I mess with the Retime Frame, it does no affect the adjustment clip as well, so my KVR reframe looses its link with the clip. Any tips? Thanks a lot if you have the time.

    • @hughhou
      @hughhou  2 месяца назад

      It is kinda like in Premiere, I will retime it first - nest or pre-comp (right click and comp the clip with retiming effect in it, or better, render in place as retime effect is very GPU intensive). If it is harder, just use the kvrViewer on the clip directly - adjustment layers is a best practices for long video but does not mean you need to follow it all the time. Both ways work

    Is it normal for Resolve to render with 3fps and run 2 render jobs for 1 timeline? That is what I am getting. I don't have a slow computer (MSI GE66 raider w/ i9 and RTX3080 16Gb VRAM). I don't mind the longer waiting time but as the video doesnt have realtime playback I have a lot of difficulty seeing what I am creating. The old school way of using the kvr ultra node in fusion does give me real-time playback.

    • @hughhou
      @hughhou  Месяц назад +1

      Are you using kvrViewer on Edit page or Fusion page / Fusion Studio? If it is edit page - that is normal. Edit page require a lot more VRAM to run smoothly and strangely - work better on Mac Silicon (Blackmagic play favor!!) So I will suggest hit the magic pencil button and go to Fusion to reframe. The same on screen control is all there in Fusion and it is faster! Also turn off motion blur preview, high quality cache and drop your resolution to quater not Full to increase speed.

      Fair. This is more for professionals that want to get every single pixel quality out from X4 and get rid of those blurry complaint on X4 by other creators. And it is a bit complex as it is targeted to filmmaker, videographer and people understand NLE editing. We want to show what is possible but not necessary is simple. Since this is a pro level NLE, it can do way more to integrate with 2D video than the Insta360 approach. So you can use Canon, SONY with your Insta360 instead of just Insta360.

    Edit: Not latest firmware, will post updates as soon as I tried out the latest firmware.
    -----
    Got my Qoocam 3 Ultra finally... footage unusable for VR when walking (normally, not "gimbal sneaking") while filming, especially when camera is not in direct sunlight. All larger, non vibration like movements are stabilized but all bumps and minor shakes (e.g. walking down a stair outdoory walking a bit faster, and so on) cause the video to disturb/blur for the bump durstion. No camera from Insta360 I had before (1-RS 1 Inch, Pro 2) had this issue.
    So for me this feels like a joke... why is my Insta360 Pro 2 that is not made for beeing walked around in a backpack so much better in stabilizing shocks from walking than a camera advertised for action sport.
    I am so sad...I was so hyped for this cam, the support promised to fix this before arrival, they released Stitching Software V2.8 but still the same issue it seems.
    PS: Your app doesn't work too... I am connected as described with the cam but no live feed even though I can watch the thumbnails of saved videos (but I can't play them) - Galaxy S21 Ultra. What a pity.
    ----
    Besides that I can confirm that the fan is running for 13-16min without audible fan noise (fan always on but inaudible at lowest setting if more then 50cm away). After that it kicks in quite loud so all ambisonic recordings ruines but lavalier with noise cancelling should still work. Hope the recording time with silent fan can be increased some day (not by changing the temp limit, this us already crazy hot). But yeah...the thing I was scared most was no real issue. But not beeing able to record handheld while moving the camera converts it to a photo camera or stationary video camera only. And for that the quality is not good enough (even with your 0,5gb large dng files or AEB).

    • @hughhou
      @hughhou  2 месяца назад +1

      Wait - so after my review, they also confirm the stabilization issue (which is what I am experience as you did here) and is planning to push out a firmware to fix it.
