Pro tip is using clothespins to attach the cover to the caging, which can create more shade plus be a lot more secure versus the wind. I did that a lot with my girls and would have most of the enclosure covered with a blanket as a roof and could leave them outside for hours with no issue. And I've seen some large birds of prey in the sky so wouldn't dare leave them unattended unless i was certain they'd be safe and the only time there was an issue was entirely on my part.

The soft chirrpy noises they make are soooo cute. I wish I could do that with my 2 girls, but even with a roof it would be dangerous as we have raptors (hawks not dinos😉) living quite nearby.

One exercise I always want to try is to find out how many cavies and how long to trim an overgrown lawn down to stubble.

My neighbour had a couple guineas and she used to just put the cover of the cage she was keeping them inside the house even when she brought them outside; I always felt kinda scared cause I've cats and there are even the ones from other neighbours, plus the strays (even though they just come at night), then we have hawks in the area and other birds... I'm sure she kept an eye on them every time she took them outside even if she was inside, but I've to admit it made me pretty anxious and every time it happened I was always getting my cats inside. 😅
Btw, it all ended without any accidents, and those piggies had a very long life full of grass!

My piggies loved going outside for short "visits". I had to be careful that they didn't get too much sun and burn their little ears.

Are you giving some medicine to piggies to prevent them from getting ticks?
How about birds? I heard it is unsafe to leave piggies unattended because of crows.
I'm wondering about mites ...
ticks mainly live in long grass and this grass is short so it is highly unlikely that ticks will be here
also she said that she is watching them at all times so crows wouldnt be an issue
Ticks only live in some areas and not really in short lawn grass. And As for birds that's why she said she was not going to leave them alone. Every area has its own dangerous so you have to be careful of the dangers in your area. But it's nice if animals don't spend their whole life inside.
My piggies were never fans of the "big scary outside place" I don't blame them but I wish they would have enjoyed it more. They didn't mind sitting on my shoulder while I was sitting on the porch or on the chair next to me as they munched grass I pulled for them. But actually being on the ground 😂 nope not my spoiled girls
