I have never seen such a play land for guinea pigs. I would imagine the "round-up" to return the pigs to their inside home was a little like trying to tell human children it is time for bed. I have bookmarked the site for future use.
Our guinea pigs used to roam freely. We'd generally let them out of their hutch in the morning and lock them in again at night. Getting them back was never a problem. We'd just whistle and they'd run back squealing. (They knew a whistle meant food.)
Loving the show, my daughter has raised guinea pig's for appx. 35 years. I just bought two litter mates that have not been separated from each other. Have had Finnagin and Poe through the rescue service. They are SO much fun and great company for a senior citizen ❤️
What a great experience for them. Grass is so yummy for them they cannot think of really exploring more. A perfect outdoor place for them to be cool, protected and enjoying their best piggy lifes. Perfect.
From experience, please be cautious and make sure weeds aren't hiding in the grass. I let out my Guinea pigs all the time, but I found one day that they had managed to grab a hold of a weed that paralyzed them. My favorite girl actually ended up dying from it. Her daughter's back legs were paralyzed for a few hours but then she returned to normal. I'm just cautious with what that day had done to my pigs, and I wanted to at least make you aware so others won't make the same mistake I did. Watching these amazing Guinea pig vids is like therapy ♡ keep up the good work. It's really consoling
rlly that happened to my gerbil every morning my mum would go out side to pick up some plants but someone put weed killer on are garden now my gerbil is dead her name was menace because she always ate my clothes when i picked her up but she was the best gerbil ive ever had
How very sad 😥 I always do my best to check the grass thoroughly but one of my piggies ages ago managed to eat a bit of daffodil. He was a bit poorly for a few days, but thankfully wanted to keep eating and so managed to get over it. They are a real worry. Thanks for your warning.
I think when we put the sun shade on the enclosure it really helped them feel safe! At first they were very confused by the bird sounds (but interestingly ignored the super loud train passing by)
@@LittleAdventures when I put my Guinea pig outdoors once it ran to the Neighbors it was male giunea pig So when it got to the neighbors I tried to get it and after a while my sister and my mom had to get my guinea pig back and now they're outside but in their cage I do really appreciate them being in grass but I don't want them to get lost and stay safe and your guinea pigs are so adorable....❤🥰🥰😍👍
@Plush and pig I know the hawks are terrible people have to be careful even with small dogs and cats. I googled it and a large hawk can fly away with an animal that is 60 pounds or less. There was a video a few years ago with a hawk snatching a cat off a fence the poor cat held on to the fence for as long as it could, but the hawk had it's talons dug in. It made me so upset!

I usually try not to keep them outside for longer than a half hour (which is probably too long honestly), so they don't eat too much because guinea pigs are really good at eating way more than they need to😅. And if you do take them out, be sure that the grass hasn't been fertilized recently (within at least the last month). Or you could always buy some wheat/pet grass from the grocery store, it's basically the same thing!😁

Just a tip: One of my friend's guinea pig got taken by a raven when it was in a pen outside, so I actually recommend putting a sheet or some sort of cover over the top of the pen as it is much safer plus it gives a sense of cosiness and security as well as shade for the guinea pigs. I use bird netting :) not necessarily intended for her just anyone in reading
Nope. In an open area like that, you have aerial and ground predators. It's not the most secure pen - I prefer using the 6ft puppy runs with tarp over the top. Cats, dogs, hawks, badgers and foxes are a real problem here.

My Guinea pigs come every day, every year outside since end February. They have eaten already all the grass and now they're escaping their cage when they want to eat the flowers😂🙈

Everytime we opened the door to the garden our piggies went crazy because they wanted to go outside again so badly. I can't imagine how more excited they would be with a pen like in the video here.
When I had guinea pigs as a kid, we always let them come outside in the summer, had a nice little outdoor enclosure for them. They loved it. And my dog she'd lie down next to the enclosure, I always imagined it was to protect the guinea pigs, it was so cute :)

Came to California from there. Raccoons, skiunks, fox, neighbor looses cats all the time, now there's a bear reported in the area. And we live in town.
Meanwhile I’m in the northeastern US in the middle of the woods and a Bear was on my porch last night bc we had an amazon box delivered with dog treats. Needless to say that bear is going to have fresh breath because we no longer have the dentasticks.
When my (two) guinea pigs were out for the first time, they were surprised by two things: 1. The wind 2. The grass was vertical! (They only saw horizontal grass, when I picked it and put it in their cage).
Hey! I am getting one Guinea pig! How’s their routine? When do you feed them and what do you feed them? And how often do you clean their cage? And when? Before school/work? Or after? And do you hav to wash them in a bathtub or something?
I remember when I used to have a garden and where I put the run by the end of the day I would move it and It would just be dirt with no grass left. Have to be careful with slugs and other stuff.
The closest i have gotten to taking my piggie outside is taking his carrier out onto the porch and opening it for more fresh air. I am aware its not ideal to have a lone guinea pig, but he is too aggressive to pair, so i just spend extra time with him especially considering our condition rn.

My guinea pigs LIVE outside, but this is because New Zealand has nothing to kill them x
Came to California from there. Raccoons, skiunks, fox, neighbor looses cats all the time, now there's a bear reported in the area. And we live in town.
True n.z has less predators, however once a pukeko ( bird ) chased my two cavy's around the yard. Till they hid out of range.
Meanwhile I’m in the northeastern US in the middle of the woods and a Bear was on my porch last night bc we had an amazon box delivered with dog treats. Needless to say that bear is going to have fresh breath because we no longer have the dentasticks.
I live in England and my guinea pigs live inside when immat school and outside whennim not :D

When my (two) guinea pigs were out for the first time, they were surprised by two things:
1. The wind
2. The grass was vertical! (They only saw horizontal grass, when I picked it and put it in their cage).
When I took mine outside, it literally just chilled on the towel and napped whilst grabbing a carrot now and then.
Now you can sell your lawnmower!! 😂
We have a spare crate and so when snowball (my guinea pig) is hungry, we just put it over her so she can eat.
Hey! I am getting one Guinea pig! How’s their routine? When do you feed them and what do you feed them? And how often do you clean their cage? And when? Before school/work? Or after? And do you hav to wash them in a bathtub or something?
I remember when I used to have a garden and where I put the run by the end of the day I would move it and It would just be dirt with no grass left. Have to be careful with slugs and other stuff.

Well, I Can’t say I’m taken with these Guinea Pigs, but I am with the owners putting So.... much effort to give these guys a happy, safe life
The closest i have gotten to taking my piggie outside is taking his carrier out onto the porch and opening it for more fresh air. I am aware its not ideal to have a lone guinea pig, but he is too aggressive to pair, so i just spend extra time with him especially considering our condition rn.
If you cant have atleast two, you shouldnt have any at all. They need a friend
You could have him neutered and get a girl piggie to go with him so he is not lonely.
