Karate Kid, Daniel Larusso, risks losing it all when he places pride before principle in this dramatic film that reunites stars Ralph Macchio and Noriyuki "Pat" Morita. I love that not only are Daniel and Mike better now, forgiven and forgotten, but Jessica was the one that set Daniel up with Amanda... AND!!! had to give Amanda the full story about why Daniel is nuts dealing with Terry Silver. Jessica was exactly what Daniel needed; not a love interest, but a friggin' great friend whose friendship persists into later life :)
Funnily enough, Jessica wasn't a love interest to Daniel because of the real life insane age disparity between Ralph Macchio and Robyn Lively.

Cobra Kai is great at retroactively making useless characters useful. Technically, KK2 and KK3 should have been in reverse order, so that the film with Barnes still has Ali, with no need to create Jessica. A fight to the death with Chozen seems a bigger climax to a trilogy than just another All Valley tournament.

Dennis is the only bully who escaped a Miyagi beating in the franchise.
And he is also the only one who was easily defeated by Daniel.
The ironic thing here is the actor that played Mike Barnes was actually a bully victim growing up.
30 something years later, Mike & Daniel are cool with every other😂🔥.
And Mike was acting the way he did because he was forced to do what Terry Silver told him to do. And Mike probably knew what Terry was capable of doing if he failed him, that's why Mike was such a bastard.

No, Mike was doing Daniel a favour. Mike realised that Daniel had gained a tonne since winning the karate tournament, so by kicking the shit out of Daniel, he was destroying Daniel's appetite. It's called aversion therapy. Now every time Daniel is offered macaroni and cheese, he'll shudder, break into a cold sweat, and have flashbacks to the time when he was brutalised by Mike. Daniel will forever associate macaroni and cheese with having his arse kicked.

One of a few scenes where Daniel actually showed he had some balls. But to be fair, Chozen was A LOT tougher than Barnes. At least when Daniel fought Chozen, he wasn’t being such a wimp! 🙄
Chozen put a better fight against Miyagi.
Well keep in mind Mike was just another bully whereas Chozen was legit trying to murder Daniel, so miyagi likely took Chozen more seriously
Some of these fight scenes are laughable. 2:49 what happened there? Barnes orders Dennis to attack Miyagi then it cuts to Barnes fighting Miyagi. Awful editing. It's not a great movie but it's still fun.

That right there shows you how poor the writing is in this movie. 30 seconds were wasted on Daniel's obsession with macaroni and cheese. The phrase "macaroni and cheese" is spoken four times in a period of ten seconds. Robert Mark Kamen was really scraping the bottom of the barrel with this movie. Kamen knew he didn't have a good story, so he padded things with mundane chatter.
