+Funmakers M Kurtz Hi there, oh great to hear ! I'm really happy that you tried them out and had success. Good to know, and appreciate you watching my video recipe, so thank you :-)
I might make these and DOUBLE the coconut mixture.. .then add almonds to it and see if they do taste like Almond Joy candies. Will prob use milk chocolate morsels, of course. But, I may make the original recipe without the almonds *first* to see if it does indeed taste like Almond Joy Bars. Those are my favorite candy bars in this world, so, depending on how much the ingredients are, this may save me money!!! Hope it will, and, hope it DOES taste like Almond Joy!!! Thanks for sharing this recipe.
Good luck Curtrice, I think will enjoy them. A fun recipe, and yes, I always encourage everyone to change up a recipe and make it their own. Thanks for watching !

Hi Jackie 😁 No, you don't need to temper any chocolate you use, when just melting the chocolate and then dipping your bars into it, you can just pop them into the fridge and the chocolate will get nice and firm. It will melt a little bit if you hold them later when eating them, but it's not too bad. I hope this helps and thanks so much for watching Jackie ! 👍😊 If you are on Facebook, please visit my page: *facebook.com/bakelikeapro* ✅

You don't have to store them in the fridge, if they get super soft, then a 10 min chill will firm them up. I wouldn't keep them around for weeks though, I'd want these gone within 5 days or so. Thanks so much for watching ! 😊

Hello BLP. I am bout to make these nice Coconut Chocolates & would like to know, why you did not temper your Chocolate for this? I think I might temper mine to have that harder shell. Good idea or not? Thank you. edit: I see that you did the Dark Chocolate one though. Why not the other one?
Bonjour Serge, at this point in time ( 2014) I was not good with tempering so didn't temper the chocolate, but yes, it will be great if you can temper it. ( I have videos on how to temper chocolate here on RUclips ) Using tempered chocolate will give you that nice "snap" when you bite into it. In all my later videos I do used tempered chocolate. I hope this helps, and I thank you very much for taking the time to watch my video Serge !! 👍😁
@@BakeLikeAPro I see. I did not notice the year of this video. I watch your videos all the time sir & learning a lot from them. Before knowing about tempered Chocolate, I was making candies that were melting a lot to the touch & I didn't like that. I see that you seem to know a bit of French mon ami! haha. I'm still a rookie in many parts of cooking, but I love to try stuff. Be well & tyvm for your quick reply.
@@BakeLikeAPro Hello. I just finished making these Coconut Chocolates. 1 - positive - I tempered the Dark Chocolate & it looked good. 2 - negative - That Chocolate was so thick though, that it was a real pain to cover my Coconut pieces with it!! The Chocolate was not dripping at all or barely from my pieces. Now, of course, most of my pieces look like they went to war compared to the first 2-3 pieces which look smooth. I did use a small amount of Chocolate because of having about 12 pieces. What happened? Should I have used a lot more Chocolate? Depressed right now. :-( Thank you.
If I want to use almonds in it...would I distribute it with the coconut and condensed milk or would i press almonds into the chilled coconut bars? I'm a huge fan too
Hi MiMi, if you wish to use almonds yes, put them on the top... line them up on the top of the bar. Almond Joy uses full almonds on the top, they don't break them down. So place a few one to top, and then pour a bit of chocolate over the almonds, this will lock them into / onto the top of the chocolate bars. These are really simple and really good, I promise :-) Thanks for watching MiMi :-)
sounds good to me eternity812 :-) Thanks for watching :-) If you do end up making them, please take a photo and post it on my Facebook page too facebook.com/BakeLikeAPro
Hi Kim 😁 I didn't but you can. If you feel they are getting too soft, pop 'em into the fridge for a bit, they will firm right back up. They are good, I love these !! Thanks so much for watching Kim ! I appreciate it ! 🙏🤗
Hi Donna ! you will enjoy this, I promise.... it is amazingly simple, as you saw me make it, but it truly tastes divine. I love these :-) Thanks for watching Donna :-)

You're killing me. Do you have any idea how much I love dark chocolate and coconut? No, of course you don't. But you have made my chocolate dreams come true. I have an idea of what I plan to make using this idea. I do not know why I have never thought of this before.

thanks for sharing. this is so fun to watch and helpful. I have some ?s. Can I combine the sweetened coconut with Coconut Butter instead of the milk? I've seen many these coconut bar recipes in 2 basic combos: coconut oil & unsweetened coconut or sweetened condensed milk and sweetened coconut. Can those be switched? Also, instead of melting and coating I want to blend whole chips and sliced nuts into the bars to make like a nobake magic bar. Will that work or will they fall apart?
Emma Lee Brebante Hi Emma Lee, that is called "parchment" paper, in some countries it is called "baking paper" it is a paper that does not catch fire in your oven, and your baked goods do not stick to it at all. It's very good baking paper if you can find it.
Emma Lee Brebante Hi again Emma ! ah great to hear :-) I'm glad you got the tempering correct... a little time and practice and it's easy to do. ( I have a video on tempering chocolate on my RUclips channel for those curious ) Anyway, thanks Emma, glad it worked out nicely for you, and thanks for adding it to your website :-)
Good day Mark. I like to make this recipe. May I request that you teach me how to make condenced milk because only sweetened creamers are sold at my place and those recipes which I learnt earlier do not have the creamy effect. Very grateful and thank you for all your recipes.

i put my mounds bars on a cooling rack like you said and when they set up up they all stuck to the cooling rack, it turned a mess when i had to pry them off the rack.... so what happened
Hi Rod, I tempered my chocolate. In the video you can actually see the chocolate setting up, or "drying" while I'm dipping more of them into that chocolate. IF you don't temper your chocolate, it will melt on touch, but - won't melt if just sitting there. If you don't temper your chocolate, and then chill them in fridge, they should not melt if just sitting on the plate. This also depends on the ambient temperature in your home though. Non-tempered chocolate will however melt and will melt super quickly just touching it.
I just saw your video on "how to temper chocolate" in that tutorial you kept the chocolate thick as compared to what i see here. In this one it is bit runny. Does that mean I need to add less cold chocolate chips or should i heat the temper chocolate in the microwave before coating coconut?
Hi Don ! Thank you for watching my video 👍😊 I'm glad you enjoyed it ! Good luck ! If you are on Facebook, please stop ✅by my page some day: facebook.com/bakelikeapro ✅
This is something I have been anticipating, Mark! I am so glad you made this video. Thank you! I am going to try these and report back to you : ) Happy Valentine's Day in case we don't ge to youtube before that with another wonderful recipe :D
This tells me your chocolate was starting to harden. You can simply place it into the microwave for a few seconds on the "DEFROST" mode, or use a double boiler to heat the chocolate a little bit.
I don't recall now Roma. It doesn't matter though, if you don't temper it, just pop the finished bars into the fridge for 10 minutes and the chocolate will harden very quickly. - If you want to see videos on how to temper chocolate I have a few here on my channel.
Thanks for the recipe. It's my favorite chocolate with coconut. Milk chocolate or dark chocolate doesn't matter. Um, can I use white chocolate instead?
DarkJanet Hi there, you can use white chocolate if you wish, it won't change the filling flavor at all. I do hope you try it out, you WILL be impressed. One bite and you'll fall in love if you enjoy coconut :-)
+Dianne Pond Hi Dianne, if you see your chocolate is melting then yes, but you don't have to. If you do feel like they need it, just chill them and they will firm right up. There is no problem keeping them in the fridge either.
I'll try these this weekend with a twist instead of dark or milk chocolate I'll make them with white chocolate.
Sounds good Jesse ! Good luck ! You're going to love these. Thanks for visiting my channel 👍😁

But it was milk chocolate. While it was very good, I prefer dark chocolate, as milk chocolate gives me heartburn that the dark doesn't. You are welcome to try it. Thanks for your reply and have a great day!! :)
LAST XMAS i MADE THESE AS DID SOME OF MY RELATIVES..THEY WERE A WINNER. i THEN ORDERED CANDY MOLDS AND USED YOUR RECIPE. NEEDLESS TO SAY YOU STARTED ME ON A CANDY MAKING TRIP. HOPE YOU POST MORE CANDY FILLINGS AS i AM HOOKED. LOVE YOUR VIDEOS.

Your dark ones look stunning. I think the chocolate was more melted than your milk chocolate. We use good quality organic chocolate, well, all of our ingredients are organic. Important. Thanks 4 sharing this. I’m making them now. 😋😋😋
planning on making these today with the grandkids....cant wait!!! Will let you know how they turn out. Looks soooo good!! Thank you!! :)
+Sharee' M Hi Sharee' M, okie dokie and good luck :-) They are delicious !! :-) If you take a picture, you can share it with me on my Facebook page here: facebook.com/BakeLikeAPro I would love to see what you made :-)

very nice recipe, can we use something else instead of condensed milk?????
GREAT EASY CHOCOLATE BAR RECIPE FOR THE HOLIDAYS THANKS
Looks yummy. Thanks for sharing.

Sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't! Can't wait to try these.
Do you have to temper the chocolate when you use the semi-sweet choc chips?
Hi Jackie 😁 No, you don't need to temper any chocolate you use, when just melting the chocolate and then dipping your bars into it, you can just pop them into the fridge and the chocolate will get nice and firm. It will melt a little bit if you hold them later when eating them, but it's not too bad. I hope this helps and thanks so much for watching Jackie ! 👍😊

+Velisa Dabreo Hi Velisa, thank you for watching :-) and I'm glad you tried it out ! :-)
After these are made do you have to store them in fridge?
You don't have to store them in the fridge, if they get super soft, then a 10 min chill will firm them up. I wouldn't keep them around for weeks though, I'd want these gone within 5 days or so. Thanks so much for watching ! 😊
Morning just what this girl needs

Thank you.
I think I will place almond on top too then chocolate ..Mmmmmm Yummy
sounds good to me eternity812 :-) Thanks for watching :-) If you do end up making them, please take a photo and post it on my Facebook page too facebook.com/BakeLikeAPro
Ok will do :)
eternity812 :-)
Could I do this same method but use silicone Halloween finger molds before covering with chocolate
Hello, yes indeed. That would be a really great idea ! Love it !! 🙂
@@BakeLikeAPro thanks
Hi do you keep them in the fridge after making them ???
Hi Kim 😁 I didn't but you can. If you feel they are getting too soft, pop 'em into the fridge for a bit, they will firm right back up. They are good, I love these !! Thanks so much for watching Kim ! I appreciate it ! 🙏🤗
@@BakeLikeAPro Kkies Thank You 😊 now i know , yea really didn't wanna keep them in the fridge .... Hava Super Sweet Day !!!!
I sure as heck want a HUGE piece!! LOL...
Hi Donna ! you will enjoy this, I promise.... it is amazingly simple, as you saw me make it, but it truly tastes divine.

Thank You so much, I'll try this recipe tomorrow. Have a nice day :)
Emma Lee Brebante Hi Emma, good luck and let me know how it turned out for you :-)
BakeLikeAPro Yey! I got the tempering correctly. Wow thank you for this recipe. Delicious BountyBars, I'll add this to our website. Have a nice day :)

Now I can make some Almond Joy bars in dark chocolate with the Almond on top. Thanks for the recipe

Using dark chocolate with walnut halves. Sort of a cross between an Almond Joy and a Mounds with a better nut.
Oh I love walnuts. Yuppers, any way you want to change it up is great !
i put my mounds bars on a cooling rack like you said and when they set up up they all stuck to the cooling rack, it turned a mess when i had to pry them off the rack.... so what happened
Non-tempered chocolate will however melt and will melt super quickly just touching it.
hi I try today and yummy
+Munawar Hasnain Hello, I hope you try them out :-) They are really fun to make and super yummy too. Good luck and thank you for watching !
I just saw your video on "how to temper chocolate" in that tutorial you kept the chocolate thick as compared to what i see here. In this one it is bit runny.
Does that mean I need to add less cold chocolate chips or should i heat the temper chocolate in the microwave before coating coconut?
Thanks for sharing trying now

I hope you make them, if you try, please post a picture to my facebook page :-) facebook.com/BakeLikeAPro Thank you for watching !
love this step by step video
Great job! Gonna do this !
Hi there ! I hope you do !Thank you for watching my video 👍😊
When I tried this the chocolate was runny at first but half way through it started to become thick and would not flow, how do you fix this?
This tells me your chocolate was starting to harden. You can simply place it into the microwave for a few seconds on the "DEFROST" mode, or use a double boiler to heat the chocolate a little bit.
How did you melt the chocolate?
Double boiler ( bain Marie )
@@BakeLikeAPro Thank you.
Is chocolate tempered?
I don't recall now Roma. It doesn't matter though, if you don't temper it, just pop the finished bars into the fridge for 10 minutes and the chocolate will harden very quickly. - If you want to see videos on how to temper chocolate I have a few here on my channel.
Wow ! Iwill make it soon
Siddique Wadiwala I hope you do ! they are amazing ! and so easy to make. Thanks for watching :-)
I made bounty bars today with your recipe:-)
I like it!! Thankyou:-)
Thank you. And I could imagine that I can use drizzle, emoticons, shapes, seasonal holiday and kanji.
Do you have to refridgerate after making?
+Dianne Pond Hi Dianne, if you see your chocolate is melting then yes, but you don't have to. If you do feel like they need it, just chill them and they will firm right up. There is no problem keeping them in the fridge either.
By tempering the chocolate does that prevent the candy from melting ?
hi nice recipe. can we store them
superb
Ohhhh double dip 🙂🙂
hummmmm delicious!
Hi SkinMarCar, *thank you* and thank you for watching my recipe :-)
BakeLikeAPro you are wellcome! I will make this recipe .
