    I love that at 9:23 you say "keep in mind that the chocolate you scrape back into the bowl now can't be used for anyone with peanut allergies". It's very considerate of you.

      Jennifer Reeves yes it is nice of her but the chocolate that was scraped of never touched the peanut butter.

    • @Idasmurf
      @Idasmurf 7 лет назад +117

      Vincent Luc that's not relevant. Even a small particle of peanut can cause a deadly reaction.

    • @tyblips
      @tyblips 7 лет назад +65

      Vincent Luc yeah I've got family. and went to school with kids who if someone touched peanut butter and touched the person with allergies they'd react. Doesn't have to be direct contact if peanut has come in contact with the general area it can still kill someone with a peanut allergy. or if someone eats peanuts or peanut butter and brushes their teeth but doesn't wash their face. and they kiss someone with a peanut allergy it can kill them. not something to mess around with

    Great video. After being given an Instant Pot for Mother's Day (UK) from my wonderful son, I started making my own Dulce de Leche. Last night I made caramel filled chocolates. I used 50% cooking chocolate as I had some in the cupboard and 50% high cocoa content dark chocolate. I used the microwave to melt it. They came out perfect (beginners luck probably) but this has really got my interest in making my own sweets. I don't know about anyone else but whenever I've been given a box of chocolates, I never eat them because they taste so artificial. The last time I ate a strawberry sweet out of a box, it tasted anything except strawberry and left a ghastly aftertaste. Looking forward to making some of these sweets, especially the strawberry and the orange ones.

    This video was great, I learned so much! I tried making caramel cups for Valentines day and they came out not too great presentation wise so decided to try truffles instead and was stumped as to how to get cool cream fillings and stuff, but seeing you do it for a ton of different recipes helped loads - would have never thought to make the filling and freeze it, and roll that into a ball then dip into chocolate, have always seen people just mix the chocolate with whatever filling but so excited I can do cream or flavor filling candies now! Can't wait to try this!

    We have both jam and jelly in the states. Jelly usually doesn't have fruit bits in it and is made with the juice of the fruit and jam has fruit bits in because it's made with the pulp of the fruit. My favorite is strawberry jam🍓or apple butter🍎.😍🤤🤤👍 Both are very yummy and easy to make at home.

    Thanks for this, it was AMAZING!!!! Just a tip--in the US, we call it Jam and Jelly. We use both words--because they ARE BOTH FRUIT PRESERVES HERE IN THE US, BUT THEY AREN'T QUITE THE SAME. Jam for us has the juice of the fruit AND delicious little chunks of that same fruit left inside. Jelly, on the other hand has been sieved. A good jelly is clear, and has no pieces of the fruit left inside. We ALSO have Marmalade and Fruit Butters, which are slightly different, disctinct processes as well. But I bet you know what those are already ;) Thanks again for ALL OF YOUR WONDERFUL WORK. JUST WANTED TO GIVE YOU THE HEADS UP xo

    hi for the hazelnut truffle Must i really make the sugar syrup to add to the hazelnut? or can i just blend up the toasted hazelnut and add to chocolate ganache instead?

    • @jackdaw634

      I'm pretty sure you can do whatever you want. Her method is just what she came up with when a hazelnut filling was requested.

    This is a great video, I've started making my own chocolate, so I'll have to try some of these, they look delicious, and thank you for sharing ways to test if the candy is cooked enough without a thermometer, those are some useful tips! I would love to make nougat filled chocolate, I'll peruse through your channel to see if you have a video on that

    I’m curious, for the strawberry ganache can I use a dehydrated strawberry power added to the White chocolate instead of the fresh strawberries? Or maybe add powdered strawberry to the fresh to add more strawberry flavor and thicken up the ganache?

    • @Blue-xt7kc
      @Blue-xt7kc 4 года назад +3

      Powdered would give you a more artificial flavour, and it still wouldn't come through as much as the fresh. Ganache thickens up on its own, provided it has enough chocolate. You can also put it in the fridge. I would suggest just using fresh.
