I'm from Texas and don't have most of commuter trains like this. It's mostly within the Metro area (Dallas/Ft. Worth, Houston and Austin) and I know the Austin and Houston ones don't venture out far from the City.
@@CENTEXRailProductions Chicago Union Station has the underground platforms, which have Amtrak and more Metra line services. This video is showing the approach to Ogilve Transportation Center, which services some Metra lines.
At 4:21 the train is passing over the tracks leading to Chicago Union Station, which is located several blocks south of Ogilvie Transportation Center, where this train is headed. If you do a search on RUclips, you'll find many videos documenting Amtrak and Metra train traffic, such as at lower-left, that use Union Station. They are of interest because of the heavy traffic.
@@Ad_Valorem I worked for AMTRAK at Union Station about four years, they treated me like dirt although I enjoy looking at trains. A massive operation!!!
I love Chicago train rides, beautiful sites, enjoyable ride and more!
It really is! Always love riding the Metra when I visit!
Such a beautiful angle to film from.
I agree! Whenever I rode into Chicago from Great Lakes I'd always try to get up front if I could to get this view
Does anyone remember the Old Orange street lights of Chicago?

I thought all the platforms at Chicago union station we’re all underground :/
I think that's the Amtrak station. This Metra Rail line operates out of the Ogilvie Center.

Awesome.
Why do they ring that bell nonstop on the final stretch? It's the only metro line I recall where I've seen that.
Ya, know, I'm not really sure myself.
To make sure the driver is awake probably....it stops when the train stops moving.
UP-NW?
Talking about the local sitting on the siding?

I get most of my reading done on Metra
I would too, but being passionate about trains I'm too busy looking out the windows.
