Slow/learning zones always have beginners stopped all over the run though. This is like a guy wanting to go 50 mph through a parking lot and getting upset someone was stopped in one parking aisle for a minute. Both people were in the wrong, yes the guy filming shouldn't have been in the middle. But at the same time, the skier that sprayed him had plenty of distance to go around rather than spray the guy. So, yes it was rude for the guy filming to be in the middle of the trail, but it was also rude for the other skier to spray snow into the guy's face. In this situation, one can't put all the blame on one particular person between the two of them as both parties were equally inconsiderate to each other.

Many years ago I was snowboarding and the resort I always went to suddenly started enforcing slow zones. They put up slow signs in a pattern to get ppl to slow down and then had employees there to yell at you. It was the stupidest thing I'd ever seen. Well I was riding slow but they didn't like the way I moved or something and would yell at me every time I went by even though my friends were going the same speed. So after the 3rd time of yelling I probably told them to fuck off and the chase ensued. Chased me all the way to the parking lot demanding I hand over my pass. I put my pass down my pants (I'm a girl) and said if you want it then you're gonna have to get it. They shut up and walked away but got my BF pass because he was a pussy lol.

Is it just me or are ski partol guys in the us generally douches. Im from norway and have never encountered anyone acting up nearly as much as i see in these videos. And of confrontations do happen isnt it better to deescelate the situation instead of just running around shouting. In my experience most of the situations come from beginner skiers stopping abruptly or suddenly changing directions with puts someone skiing faster in a hard situation. And its always the jerry that gets upset. Generally shoundnt ski patrols deescalate the situation instead of immediatly shouting at the guy who mostly resembles a park rider :p Ive seen this too many times and it pisses me off.
I think it is mountain/region specific. I'm local to Mt Baker, and our ski/board patrol people are either rescuing hurt people, blasting avalanches, or sneaking off to get the sweetest fresh snow before a trail is opened. The dude in the video is totally destined to "not have a good time"...
Let it be known, Ski Patrol cannot take passes, they cannot tackle you, they cannot detain you, they cannot give you a citation. They may be able to kick you off the mountain for the day, but ski patrol has virtually no power lol

Both people were in the wrong, yes the guy filming shouldn't have been in the middle. But at the same time, the skier that sprayed him had plenty of distance to go around rather than spray the guy. So, yes it was rude for the guy filming to be in the middle of the trail, but it was also rude for the other skier to spray snow into the guy's face. In this situation, one can't put all the blame on one particular person between the two of them as both parties were equally inconsiderate to each other.
I think what happened was he was bombing the hill, didn't see my friend greg over here, so he started turning, then panicked thinking he couldn't make it so he tried to stop as fast as he can, happens all time in ski races, racer is in the mood of the race, and speeds through the finish with the ref at the finish yelling at him to stop so he stops as fast as he can and sprays the ref by accident

Many years ago I was snowboarding and the resort I always went to suddenly started enforcing slow zones. They put up slow signs in a pattern to get ppl to slow down and then had employees there to yell at you. It was the stupidest thing I'd ever seen. Well I was riding slow but they didn't like the way I moved or something and would yell at me every time I went by even though my friends were going the same speed. So after the 3rd time of yelling I probably told them to fuck off and the chase ensued. Chased me all the way to the parking lot demanding I hand over my pass. I put my pass down my pants (I'm a girl) and said if you want it then you're gonna have to get it. They shut up and walked away but got my BF pass because he was a pussy lol.

Is it just me or are ski partol guys in the us generally douches. Im from norway and have never encountered anyone acting up nearly as much as i see in these videos. And of confrontations do happen isnt it better to deescelate the situation instead of just running around shouting. In my experience most of the situations come from beginner skiers stopping abruptly or suddenly changing directions with puts someone skiing faster in a hard situation. And its always the jerry that gets upset. Generally shoundnt ski patrols deescalate the situation instead of immediatly shouting at the guy who mostly resembles a park rider :p

I think it is mountain/region specific. I'm local to Mt Baker, and our ski/board patrol people are either rescuing hurt people, blasting avalanches, or sneaking off to get the sweetest fresh snow before a trail is opened. The dude in the video is totally destined to "not have a good time"...

Let it be known, Ski Patrol cannot take passes, they cannot tackle you, they cannot detain you, they cannot give you a citation. They may be able to kick you off the mountain for the day, but ski patrol has virtually no power lol

I've done this to Jerry's standing in the middle of the trail camping out. NSAA code " while standing, walking or climbing always keep to the side of the trail or slope". Know the NSAA Responsibility Code.

1. Stopping in the way mid-trail is a violation of the skier's code of conduct.
2. The TRADITIONAL and well-deserved punishment is getting sprayed in the fucking face.
3. Getting someone's pass pulled gets you punished off the slopes. If you did this to me I'd be waiting for you in the parking lot, and you would have no choice but to defend your reprehensible actions.

There's no way this is real lol. Getting spayed is literally a sign of affection. I like how he said thanks for spraying me in the face when the camera clearly showed it was a pretty weak below the knees slush spray. Way to over react. It's skiers like this that are the reason a lot of resort affiliated ski schools can't even teach students how to properly bail out and self arrest because heaven forbid someone become slightly physically uncomfortable on a pair of skis XD.
