Longevity question. How many Subarus do you see over 200,000 miles these days. I know in the 90's I saw a mail delivery person with 400,000 miles of hard driving stop and go rural mailbox delivery miles. The car obviously required lots of Maintenance and repairs but it still took more punishment than many other cars could have.

I believe adding to the confusion is that some of the icons can be moved, others not.

    • @davidbrown3309
      @davidbrown3309 6 месяцев назад +1

Also, they told me the problem is that there is a limit to the number of icons allowed on each page. So if you want to move an icon from Page 1 to Page 2, you first need to make room for the new icon on Page 2 by moving an existing Page 2 icon to Page 1. Honest!
      That sounds crazy to me..

I know for a fact that you can’t relocate to Apple CarPlay icon. When you go into Edit mode, the icon disappears!

Hi Alex, love these videos on the Latest Subaru’s. I live in Wellington, New Zealand and have owned a Subaru XV(Crosstrek) since 2016. I just the latest Generation Subaru Crosstrek (rebranded from XV) and found your helpful, but I have that depending where you live in the world there are slight differences in model style’s like trim and the odd switch etc, so watching videos you have to use a bit of common sense, but in all love what you are doing in the videos.
My Crosstrek is the latest Generation Hybrid which I think the USA may not get. Just love Subaru Crosstrek in Model.

Thanks for your very informative videos! My question has to do with the headlights automatically comming on when the 2024 Forester Base is put into gear. Doesn't matter if it's day or night, the headlights immediately come on once drive or reverse is engaged. Headlight selector is not on the Auto setting. Seriously hoping there's a way to turn off this "feature".

I have a 2024 Subie outback with a turbo. 🙁No CD player in my car. Don’t have a clue what model it is.
I traded an outback 2019 with 32,000 miles. I’ve compared both cars.
The storage betweeen the seats is smaller and the storage in front of the gear shift is much smaller. Also, no change holder. Another thing is no netting in the trunk. 😂. The cup holder is so deep a regular size coffee makes it hard to pick up.
I am lucky to get 16 mpg in my car. Before you say it is the way I drive the car. I am a 78 YEAR OLD women and rarely kick the turbo on. I just like to know it is there if I need it. The window sticker states I shoud get better mileage. I 😮 do get great mileage❤ on the turnpike. Another thing is the steering wheel locks up water too often. This is my third Outback and this never happened before.
You must thinkI hate my new car. Quite the opposite. I would buy it again in a heartbeat!!!! Just a few things I liked better in my last two outback’s.

I love your videos! These tips especially are awesome. I have a 2021 outback and My big question (and one i know you won't answer) how to turn off the rear seat, seat belt warning? I've turned off the driver and passenger but the rear seats all 3 of them don't have a bypass!?! I've seen people unhook the sensor but i also read that disables the airbag. Can i disable the beep,beep,beep...? Both my book AND the Subaru websites tell me take it to a dealer they will disabled it and I've made appointments and went to 2 SEPERATE dealers and both refused to turn it off but say try anther dealer they might do it for you, so i believe it can be turned off.
I'm about to get rid of this car over this issue and no one at Subaru cares so it was worth asking you, Alex. Thank you for even listen.

Your channel is quite helpful, Alex.
Something I'd like you to investigate or share if you already know all the specifics, but my questions are to do with the tremendous amount of your private information that car companies can share/sell when you link your phone to your car. Actually, I've read that even if you don't link the phone, when you buy the car, and sign the papers, what you are really signing is legal permission for them to do this. They have it all, health card, driver's license, VIN, email, phone, emergency contacts in event of a crash, EVERYTHING. And this permission is usually buried in the fine print and stipulated in legalise type writing. Even if you get your lawyer to advise and interpret the wording, all they're going to tell you is basically what I outlined above. So my question is, how can we circumvent this process? Should we not be able to buy a new car and NOT give away all this information? Even if we bail out of all the features..no SOS, no Wifi, no navigation, no nothing...is there an actual form that is available but never spoken of that allows you to buy the car and when you sign, it's no more elusive than many years ago prior to all this information sharing/hacking world we now have.
And worse, is what they're doing actually even legal? If no one ever calls them on it, in their minds no harm no foul until someone raises the issue.
I'd appreciate any info you can garner on if we have some privacy options that few if anyone are aware of.
Thanks for all your hard work and high quality videos 👍

The CVT has been around for decades now and has been improved with each new generation so I wouldn't be concerned with it. I personally feel that the Subaru Outback also has a better ride quality than Toyota. It's quiet and absorbs the road noise well. The interior design is higher in quality as well with the leatherette dash and stitching. This just gives it an elevated look in my opinion. I've also had many customers express the same opinions when comparing the two brands. All in all, you can't go wrong with either but my pick is the Subaru. If you haven't already, I would test drive both to see which you like the ride of the most. Full transparency, I also work for Subaru and sell them for a living if that wasn't already clear from my videos 😂

@@alexpmoThanks mate for your advice 👍
Getting a experienced opinion is worth its weight in gold especially coming from a good salespeople like yourself who knows their product Vs other’s brands honestly making helpful comparison to a customer’s needs a lot easier.
Now I’ve seen the difference now between other brands & Subaru inwhich your right, however if only Subaru can offer a WRX Manual Transmission option for the Outback 🤩 then I’m totally sold - take my money 💰
The Australian Subaru market is very strong, now I can see why 👍
Ps. Love your videos, very informative content.

Hi Alex, I know you always say that if we have a question please ask below, so here it is... My in-laws purchased a used 2015 Subaru Outback Premium. Have been able to adjust all settings to their liking with the one exception of when I go into: Settings - Vehicle Customization - Please Wait Loading Data - Goes Blank and Back to Settings. The problem is it is supposed to load a bevy of choices including changing the door lock to open all doors (from the driver's door) from its current setting of only opening the driver's door. Dealership where they purchased have been no help in solving this problem. Any suggestions that you can offer. Thanks in advance!

Hey, Alex. I was looking through the questions to see if someone else already asked, but couldn't find it. Can you change the Eco Gauge to the distance remaining on the '22 Ascent? Ours doesn't have the tablet infotainment set-up, but the older style.

My ‘22 Forester too. The eco gauge is kind of useless. More of a visual distraction. I would like to be able to change that on the driver’s display. Is it possible?

Q re radio ALWAYS turning on when I start up car:
I have a ‘21 Forester Sport which we purchased new. The radio automatically comes on when we start the car even if we purposefully turned it off before shutting the car down. We have to turn the volume all the way down if we want no sound for the next time.
How do we program it to only turn on when we want it to ?

I have seen many videos of yours but could not find a video on average mile per gallon on Outback.
I bought Outback Sept 5th 2023 and have driven about 1600 miles. My average mile as per Outback shows only 22.4 . However when I bought it the sticker on car has 26 miles in city and 32 highway. Why my Outback average is below 26 in city driving.

    • @alexpmo
      @alexpmo  6 месяцев назад +1

That's the eyesight assist monitor. Unfortunately, it doesn't display speed. It'll light up red when an obstacle is detected ahead, green when your adaptive cruise is on and another car is detected ahead, and yellow when you leave your lane for lane departure alert.

Are there any software paywalls in the 2024 Outback, or other Subaru models that I would need to know about in advance? My 2015 Outback only requires a subscription for the XM radio. I am very concerned about the control of so much equipment going thru that screen.

I own a 2023 outback wilderness model. I have Sirius satellite radio. When I plug my phone into the charging jack under the display, it automatically goes to the feed from my phone and plays music from there. When I try to go back to satellite radio, it plays a couple of notes then stops. Any idea how I can still charge my phone and listen to satellite radio?
