Came here to watch "one quick video" and ended up binge watching your channel for over 2 hours 😂I bought a 2020 Subaru Liberty (Legacy in the US, I think?) last week and owning such a modern car after driving a 2008 Liberty (RIP 💔) for 11 years is a challenge I wasn't expecting. You need to give this content creator PROPS, if not a job. As a customer service manager myself, who is potentially purchasing a Wilderness Outback, Alex’s “White-Glove” tutorial videos are 🎯. What a great way to learn the ropes of your product features and VALUE. At the very least, have your sales teams point to his channel to get the most out of their Subaru and make them feel good about their INVESTMENT.
I would really love to see a video of how you can play music off a USB flash drive. And if there are any voice commands for calling up a specific song, album or artist like you can on Ford Sync. Thanks!

My 23 outback wilderness just promoted me for the update and told me to leave it running while it installed. 😅 But can confirm it has the (AVH) button in the bottom bar now.
I picked up my Outback about 6 weeks ago. For the life of me, I could not find the trip odometer reset. It's so tucked behind there compared to my truck and my wife's Nissan rogue, it had me scratching my head. I had to swing my head around to see it. As far as gas mileage goes, I have the touring XT. It will sometimes say I will give 500 mi on the tank when I fill up, but eventually it goes down to anywhere between 380 or so. Right now I've done all highway on this tank of gas and it is listing about 26 MPG average. However, when I do my mixed driving it's about 24 or less.
Haha. Don't feel bad. 8 week owner here, and I found it 4 weeks in.
I'm not sure why they hide that button back there.😂

There is a bypass for the Auto/Stop , I bought it for $99 and I JUST LOVE IT ! I have it wife’s 2021 Limited CrossTrek an my 2024 OB Wilderness. I hate the S/T function, it’s a waste of $$ for something that ruins the Starter 🤭🤭
Out of curiosity, how do the Auto Start / Stop and Automatic Vehicle Hold functions work in conjunction with one another? Thank you for the great videos as always!
They work just as usual together. So your auto start stop will still shut off the engine with AVH on.
Alex, I really do enjoy your video tips and information. I have not found a video on the Subaru Navigation system and it would be helpful for me. I find the system to not be as user friendly and not as refined as other manufactures.

This is such a great channel. I really appreciated you showing how to put the remaining gas mileage on the display permanently. My Subaru maps have expired (2020 Outback Onyx). I was wondering if there was a way to silence or remove that specific notification without paying for the maps or silencing any other useful notifications?
Question - is there a way to set the Sirius radio to toggle between the different stations from the steering wheel ? right now, when i use the toggle switch on the left side of the steering wheel and i'm using the Sirius radio, it toggles to the preset FM stations on the "normal" radio, not the Sirius stations

Is there a way to easily move around the preset radio stations that you’ve saved, or do you need to add them in the sequence you want?
The setting to change the AC button to MAX AC will come in handy during our hot and humid summers. 😅 Plus the ability to just display estimated fuel remaining is a big plus.
I’ve gotten used to the display. Honestly my only issue is the lag, but that’s it. It’s very easy to turn auto start/AVH on or off as needed.
I’ve not tried it yet but voice commands (Subaru, not CarPlay or Android Auto) can be used to adjust climate control, correct?
Alex, will there be an update that will allow Google Maps using Android Auto to appear similar in size as the Apple Car disply in a '22 Outback? Thamks.

Hi Alex, great video. I have a 2023 Outback XT Touring (Australian version). Is there any option to turn down the volume for the bonging warning sound for speed cameras and red-light cameras? It's so loud, it frightens the c..p out of my dog. Not sure if these are even a thing in the USA.
When you hear it bong.. turn the volume down straight away. The dash will be displaying the bell rather than the music. Tip: dont turn it to zero or your music/radio will just cut out which is annoying

My Crosstrek limited has it. Not a shortcut. Must swipe left on the main screen. Found it on last page.

Question - is there a way to view information on Eye Sight after an accident happens? Our ‘24 crosstrek got hit and we read that it records accidents
The car records data like speed and braking at the time of accident but it doesn’t visually record like a dash cam. From my understanding, Subaru is the only one who can pull this info.

Settings > scroll from the top right to select “car” > driver monitoring system > then you can turn off.
It still comes back on every time I start the car. My question was to permanently disable?
I would like a fine Subaru connaisseur like you to dwell rather on the pivotal points and basic improvements like, road handling, cabin quietness and general silence, fuel consumption…. Maybe a next video?
I prefer the split 8” screen on my ‘22 Forester Wilderness over my wife’s ‘24 Crosstrek.
My 24 Legacy Premium with Navigation automatically updated the display software as I drove to a destination about 20 minutes away.
Some software updates can be done over-the-air. The one I mentioned in the video specifically requires update through USB drive because of the larger file sizes.
The wireless car charger on my 2023 outback gets the phone too hot. Dealer say that’s a known problem and nothing can be done. Why can’t it be fixed or removed and price refunded? This is our family’s 7th Subaru. Not a good response from Subaru.
How do you add your home wifi so you can do your own updates?
If your car is equipped, click on settings > general > scroll down to select wifi.

That's all well and good but what I really want to know is how to shut off the dinging for the seatbelt. You can't even go up to a drive up restaurant get your wallet out of your back pocket and drive 10' to the next window without that thing driving you nuts.
You move through the settings so fast it is hard to follow, also hard to see the screen .
What happens if you go in car wash without changing anything
I got that update done for my 2020 Subaru Legacy. It was a nightmare because my car just would not take to it. I ended up waiting for 5hrs just to be told it was unsuccessful. Had to go back in a couple days later to attempt it again and 30min later I was good to go.
Mine took a little over an hour. Glad that got yours squared away!
Wish the Auto Start/Stop function could be permanently disabled! That is the most USELESS and IRRITATING thing the government has ever forced on car manufacturers! All it does is adds wear and tear on the vehicle while disabling critical functions like power steering, etc if needed immediately to avoid an imminent crash. A SPLIT SECOND can make all the difference in the world!
I agree with you! You can permanently disable it, but you have to go aftermarket. Autostop Eliminator is one company that makes them.
Or just don’t sink the break pedal when u stop
Sounds like you’re a car mechanic old-school style common sense most of my friends go oh it’s a great idea. You’re gonna save gas yeah right if you swap in the car or have it on the lease and you’re RICH no big deal like you say it’s a lot of wear and tear on that starter among other systems.🎉
