After three years of closure, Malaysia’s oldest zoo, the Johor Zoo will be officially open to the public on Aug 31 which falls on the nation’s Independence Day, said Johor Menteri Besar Onn Hafiz Ghazi.
He said the zoo’s reopening would be officiated by Johor Regent Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim on Aug 28 prior to its official opening three days later.
“There is also a new ticket price for Johor Zoo,” said Datuk Onn Hafiz.
He said the state government has approved that the new ticket price for locals is RM10 (S$3) for adults, while for children it is RM5.
“However, for foreigners, the ticket price for them is set at RM30,” he said after visiting the Johor Zoo on Aug 16.
Previously, the ticket price to enter Johor Zoo was set at RM2 for adults and RM1 for children.
