The sport hatch manual is a little more lighter than the CVT and I’m talking about the non touring. It’s like 2800 and some change. It would have probably gave an even closer race. Also, that short ram has got to go and replaced with PRL’s cobra with a race maf.
So... basically, my wife did not know, but she was actually on level 1 boost on this race. If I knew, I would have put it on level 3 boost which was the highest one. But still, considering its on low boost, it still pulls.
Person on the civic is probably running a lower psi or maybe phearable runs safer targets on the turbo than the basemaps a ktuner brings. I’m reaching 21-23 psi on a stock turbo with early spool and aggressive turbo ramp and the one thing that keeps it from performing better is the cvt tranny heating up too much and also the intercooler not being able to cool fast enough. Definitely a good race. But that fk7 is best in a manual. Ask me how I know 😵💫
240whp vs closer to 350whp, 3,100lb vs 3350lb. Maybe if the Civic was manual it would hold on, but not a bad race at all. Definitely could beat a Fiesta ST and hold its own vs v6 Camaro Mustang Challenger etc. Love the build!! What I am aspiring for with my 2018 Civic EX-L
@@mattquila4039 ST stock makes 252hp at the crank, and say there's 10% power loss that's 225whp give or take. Stratified tune is anywhere between 240 and 280whp. Torque is anywhere from 320 to 360wtq. So you're right, my bad. You definitely have the torque advantage, cause Phearable Civic tune (no other mods) torque is around 270wtq. Nearly 100tq difference I guess I was thinking of the RS, it makes 350hp crank stock, and a Stratified tune bumps it to 341whp and 374wtq. The Fords don't see as much of a HP or torque bump as the Civics do, that is for sure.
The cvt in sport without using paddles should have boost constantly. In my 1.5 accord sport cvt I did beat a ST on ktuner but I think the phearbale tune does have parameters set especially torque for our CVTS. Not sure how much tourque the stock civic sport and accord sports 1.5s can hold

@@timskys6959 The Si just has a different turbo, and is tuned a bit different from the factory. Otherwise the non si 1.5t and the si 1.5t are practically the same engine.
Don’t worry bro, the cvt can handle it as long as you don’t always drive it like you’re in the Nurburgring, if you’re still worried, invest in a CVT cooler, I recommend the one from PRL, only heat kills the cvt, and doing dig races strains it, so just go for it! It’s very worth it! The CVTs on our 10th gens are the toughest ever made.
It's pointless tuning cvts unless you absolutely want it, it'll hold up to the power though hondata did a test and they typically break beyond 350 ft lbs of tq. From my experience it's not all that tuning a civic with a cvt it takes away performance but if you absolutely want it. It won't hurt anything if you take care of it and not punish it 24/7. They personally feel like clutches slipping to me so I steer clear of tuning cvts
@@austintylerreynaud8754 you’re right, but you’re more right about not abusing it 24/7. I mean if he just wants a little more power from the powertrain, then an ECU remap should be enough, no extreme tuning, as long as he shortens his cvt fluid maintenance intervals like I do, it should last as long. Also it’s not pointless to tune a cvt, a tune is a tune, more power. But if you keep saying it is, then you should be driving an Si or any manual transmission
@@kg_1720 it's is pointless to tune a cvt lol the car would be significantly faster and all around better with a manual or even the 10 speed from the accord. I'm not saying don't do it because it's ultimately your car, I will say that they are loads of fun when tuned especially in twist and turns but there's tons of potential and power being taken away from the car with the cvt. I do think people should give Honda more respect about the cvt, I don't like them but I will say that they are just as reliable as any at trans IF you maintain them properly. I just wish they offered some sort of different trans in the civic like the 10 speed or a dct but the price would most likely jump up high with a dct. I like manual but I like shifting fast even more. I do think the civics are extremely fuel efficient because of the cvt though so I'll give it that but they are boring imo and they feel like a clutch slipping when you let the car have it

@@skylerswanton3982 just so you know, it's not good to immediately have the throttle at full position gradually let the power on because of the turbo because you don't want a ton of boost, hitting and slamming your engine all at once. That's how engines get broken.
