Green Day - Holiday was one of the first songs I learned to play and was the first time I heard of power chords. Still play it to this day. Love the song and is a great song to try any new guitar out with.

When I first started playing guitar way back in the early 80s I’d only vaguely heard about power chords maybe from an interview with Pete Townshend. As a result I only played full barre chords which along with some basic pentatonics became my staple. I just got an epiphone LP a week or so ago. I have a Gibson SG but I saw the Epi and I just wanted a new guitar without dropping three grand hahaha. I like it a lot. It sounds pretty darn good. Haha.

The main thing you're hearing is the Seymour Duncan sh1 Bridge pickup and the amp, which is a Victory sherrif 22. Pickups and amp give most of the sound imho
