Once the roof goes, there's no point in restoring it. Water in everything and I can see black mold in places. What boggles my mind is, people were living there in the 90's. Must've been renters. Whoever owned it last, didn't really care for it and just let it go to waste. The potential is lost.

Had to laugh...l found a vanity like the one with the cane bench for a few dollars at a garage sale. Took off about 5 layers of paint, iincluding a layer of bright sky blue. It took all summer, but it turned out to be solid walnut with inlay. Always interesting to see what wood is under the paint. Thanks, Kappy-you make my Saturday morning coffee time special!! 🌻

Beautiful old house with many antiques and beautiful yard. It's a shame that it's left like this. I would surely be wonderful to see someone restore and preserve this fine old house.
What a pretty home. What a shame it’s all left to rot away. No graffiti then you get to the attic-well, I really don’t consider that graffiti. It was creepy, but it was fitting for an attic 😂. Oh, thanks for getting to the attic. Take care & be careful Kappy. Great start to a weekend
I don't understand why they can't put a good tarp on top of that house. If I'm not mistaken, it was built in 1854. The last family member tried to hold on to it, but had to sell it. It's another one of those cases where the house was bought just for the farmland. If nothing else it could have been turned over to a park service and they would have preserved it. It's definitely an original plantation. One thing that really interests me about this house is the stairway not being in the front of the house looking grand and wonderful.
@@SRay-or3nc yep exactly! There’s a marker at the end of driveway with information on the house, such a heartbreaking place! Just loved this one! Thank you very much for watching!! :)
What a sturdy nice house! My parents would love a house this this! The bedroom furniture remind me of my grandparents room. I still have a sitting stool from their bedroom set. Queen Ann legs, some nice things. One thing i like your videos, , they show us how homes were built to last about 100 plus yrs ago compared to the trash we have now. Families stayed together and they didn't fight one another. The family back then had it's Share of normal living, but they all communicate and kept the family united. Left behind all their worldly goods. Houses like these can be renovated.
What a beautiful house even in abandonment with all the furniture downstairs. It looks like they just walked away and left everything behind. That one bed in the back room looks like hospital bed that was made from a regular one. The hoosier cabinet and glass hutch are both beautiful. Thanks for sharing and have a great day with safe travels.
Oh that made up bed reminded me of an explore vid that someone in Europe filmed, and the went upstairs of this old abandoned house & this old lady was asleep in her bed! Scared the hek out of the gal & guy doing the exploring! The lady told them she lived there; they were able to get her some much needed assistance
The scenery at the end is beautiful. I love the cotton field. Reminds me when I was a kid, mama would pull off to the side of the road where cotton fields were and my brother, sisters and I would pick us a hand full of cotton. One of my sisters got into a pack of bees and run like lighting. My mother took a picture of that action. That wasn't funny when it happened but when I come across that photo now I laugh my head off. Back in the 60's mama made us girls wear nothing but dresses. Needless to say my sisters dress was flying up to her head as she was running from those bees...😅

I agree with the comments above - this is not beyond saving. It would take a LOT of work, but it could be restored to it's former glory. The waste of all those antiques! Sure hate to see it. So many could still be saved. That's heartbreaking to see. Almost all of those furniture pieces are dove tailed. Made so much better and would last so much longer than what you get these days. Another great video Mr Kappy! Thanks for taking me along!😊
It's haunting but at least it had been lovingly packed up and cleaned out of all the personal things. All that seemed to be left were mostly linens and kitchen.
Oh my gosh! What a lovely home ! I was surprised you did not include some close ups of that incredible front porch! Everything inside was so overwhelming - so sad to not see someone save this place! And open up that stairway!😆 Loved the back porch bedroom and the upstairs room with the iron beds and red quilt. The art on the attic stairs surely has a story. Thank you for this tour!

Oh wow Kappy!! This old house is absolutely beautiful! I would love to save this house and every piece of furniture!! Thank you for this video! It touched my ❤
Fantastic tour! That stairway seemed very narrow to be the main part of the house, but rather the servant's stairs? I wish I could buy that and fix it up.
Thank you for showing us this old place . Is sad what it once represented , however seems equally a tragic to see the home in this state and all those family heirloom’s just rotting away .
Wow this is very pretty. You are right the furniture was old antique. Some were Handmade pieces. Love the iron bed and the yellow blanket in the closet looked like a quilt. Stay safe👍
Wow. Really some beautiful old pieces in that house. Fascinating & beautiful. It’s always heartbreaking to see such a place with a historical long life, eventually go to rack & ruin. Love the old stovepipe hole in the kitchen & those big fireplaces of the period. Love that Hoosier cabinet, those are so cool. Those wing chairs were once beautiful. Someone had great taste .

These make me sad. My parents were way older than my peers- and my Aunts/Uncles too…my Mama (94) just passed 3 weeks ago and all I can think of (esp when photos are left behind) is HOW?!!! I could never ever leave her things. I just wonder the stories behind these abandoned masterpieces.
Those two beds made me think of of Big and Little Edie’s room in the documentary “Grey Gardens.” What a fascinating home. Tons of cool furniture. Thanks so much for sharing. ❤
Kappy this is one of the nicest houses you have done in awhile. The antiques are really amazing so many things to see. The hole in the roof is sad but the made beds were really spooky. The bed with the debris looked like a rotting body was there!!
This is my favorite house so far of all the houses you've done. I'm probably partial to it because of the older style floor plan and compartmentalized rooms I do not like open concept and you can tell by their furniture and the dishes and things that they had good stuff back in the day. Great job on this one I have to say and I will continue to say to people when they do these house tours if you will explorations it p***** me off that people want this type of furniture and here's a house and or a family that has let it go to waste and they have beautiful pieces in this house just riding away.

Hey Kappy good to see you today, wow that furniture left there is beautiful, that's crazy someone wouldn't want it,yeah a shame roof damage and raining in ,all that furniture made of real wood, this is definitely a good one ,great job and thank you for your hard work to bring stuff to everyone
My Grandma had the same vacuum, used it many times. I love this room. The windows, the calmness.
Thanks for sharing!! So sad to see everything just rotting away! Take care, God Bless You ❤❤ Keep Safe!
In this episode, viewers shake their fists in Alabama's general direction. Another national treasure left to suffer from the elements.
And open up that stairway!😆
Loved the back porch bedroom and the upstairs room with the iron beds and red quilt. The art on the attic stairs surely has a story.
Thank you for this tour!
It was probably there to prevent people from going upstairs ( visitors) really a practical thing. Anna In Ohio
Such a beauty inside and outside. Here’s another one that if livable I’d gladly live there. 😊
Thank's Kappy for showing me another beautiful house.I can see why it would be your favorite with all the beautiful furniture and details.I can't wait for the next on.
Stay safe👍
Everything is so beautiful. It breaks my heart to see all of the furniture and home wrote away.
Beautiful house and you can tell a lot about the Women of the house that they liked to cook and entertain with all the dishes and pots and pans. Anna In Ohio
wowwwww u did it again kapppy the antiques are amazing to bad it cant be saved to much water dammage gorgeous plantation farm house the beds were gorgeous to alot of glasswear take care my gratefully deadicated friend i got my grateful dead t shirt on heheh keep on keeepin on peace love rock and roll to soothe my soul seee you next time buddy
Why or how would a besutiful place like this just be left abandoned. It amazes me.
I agree. It is such a waste! All of those lovely things just left there. The family could of had an auction or sold them on line.
Wow I remember the lace doilies under the lamps. Blast from the past. What a nice place.
Hand crocheted doilies and beautiful rugs.
Loved all the furniture especially the table that looked like an artist’s pallet. That was so unique!
Beautiful old house so sad that someone doesn't fix it, it could be a gorgeous home again.
An other stellar location! Love those rocking chairs! Be safe!❤
So many of these beautiful old homes are empty because they sit on those busy highways.
Kappy this is one of the nicest houses you have done in awhile. The antiques are really amazing so many things to see. The hole in the roof is sad but the made beds were really spooky. The bed with the debris looked like a rotting body was there!!
What a house full of treasures!
The front porch beckons! I love porches like that. Thanks!
An absolutely beautiful home! I would love to bring it back to life!
Very enjoyable tour of a wonderful old house! Thank you for finding these special old homes with such character!
Beautiful property, the grounds wirh those huge trees 🌳 lineup the driveway is very nice and the gorgeous view of the lake.. wow👌
This is my favorite house so far of all the houses you've done. I'm probably partial to it because of the older style floor plan and compartmentalized rooms I do not like open concept and you can tell by their furniture and the dishes and things that they had good stuff back in the day. Great job on this one
I have to say and I will continue to say to people when they do these house tours if you will explorations it p***** me off that people want this type of furniture and here's a house and or a family that has let it go to waste and they have beautiful pieces in this house just riding away.
That furniture is to die for!
Whomever is executor of estate needed to have an estate sale! Beautiful house Kappy
I love watching your videos. You have true appreciation for these places. It is sad to see it all going to decay.
@@Couldnteventhink that’s very kind of you too say!! Thank you very much for watching!! :)
Beautiful place I would love it
Outside still looks very nice!
0:02 Look at that beautiful old tree which probably adorned the home from the time it was built
