As a 574 year old 👽,we thought the song was a pretty good song for 80s country,But it's always fun to here a new sound to an old song.
One of my favorite songs back when it came out. Not much into new country, but John Anderson did it. I don't know who this guy is singing with John but he is a lucky man for it
I first heard Colt Ford on a very long flight from somewhere to somewhere. I am not into rap or hip hop... but I liked what I heard. I always think of Toby Keith's "I Wanna Talk about Me." Colt Ford never "made it," but he did get played where I've been dancing for years.
I'm not into new pop country, but some new styles aren't so bad... I mean old school is good (pocket full of gold and all...) but some of the newer (not poppy) paying tribute to the old... I like! This is one song I got from my earliest memories of music! Love Colt adding to it. He brings a new dynamic to it!

so I grew up on all the older country music and love country music in general, I have 7 boys who are listening to the great country classics I grew up on and this as well. I disagree with anyone who puts this down it is still a great song and will always be. the original will always be amazing but at least this one also has John Anderson participating and enjoying every minute unlike all the remakes.
I lived next door to Lional Delmore when I lived in Nashville as a songwriter. I may have been one of the first persons to hear this song in original form! Lional wrote it as a slow ballad. John took it and rocked it! The rest is history!
