- The Tales from the Tundra continue in Season 2 - Episode 21 as the girls play while Nate and Cindy are away in Tennessee. The play is needed though as they attend our first auction since June now that the vet situation has been resolved. Nate and Cindy come back just in time to meet those saved at the auction, a big decision is made and so much more! I am so happy that Envy is staying with Nate and Cindy at Pony Tales forever. Envy is such a magnificent horse, she is my favorite and probably always will be.
Drafts are my favourite I just adore their honesty and effort for humans to see them hurting makes me angry 😂

The Amish seem to not care about animals at all.
Not any more than any other farmer cares about a tractor. Horse is just equipment.
They don't to the Amish a horse is simply a tool to get the work done , once it's used up it's sent to auction.

Not all Amish are mean to their horses yes some are but not all are abusing their horses my aunts and uncles (Amish) love and spoil their horses I am English but not all Amish are rude to their horses 😢😢
I was originally shocked when I learned that they use them up and throw them away. I really thought they would care for their animals as they are the Amishs' work stock and would be erll maintained and cherished. It makes me very sad.
Watching Envy’s story of triumph over such a terrible canker illness was so inspirational, to watch him gain confidence love and respect for humans with such tender patience and care at Pony Tales. ❤❤❤
So glad Nate and Envy found each other. That trust and connection is so important for both the horse and rider.

Tractor supply has magnets at the end of a pole for checking for metal.
You guys kill me with the magnets! I just did that today - took down some fence and found lots of bits of wire and old rust screws.
You could see it in his face that he was feeling some type of way about Envy. Men don’t show their emotions, and he really tried to hide them! I’m glad he’s made that leap of faith ❤ Congratulations Nate
I have a patch of ground that was used by a hoarder for years. I used a huge, powerful magnet to clean up all the metal scraps and make the ground safe for horses. Then it rained, and more metal magically popped out of the ground. I cleaned that up batch of metal, it rained again, and more metal appeared. Rinse, repeat, rinse, repeat for the last couple of years. It’s incredible how much sharp metal can hide in the soil, just waiting for a horse to step on it!
We had no clue there was a downed barbed wire fence cutting across the pasture that was a former vineyard until prohibition hit. We only found it when a horse got tangled in it. We managed to save the horse but she ended up with a huge scar. Take all the time you need cleaning up the property. It isn’t worth the grief and expense to care for damaged animals.
good to know that envy got her happily ever after. she came such a long way. :-)))

Amazing episode with the best news!! I am so, so happy Envy is now Nate‘s horse. She couldn’t have found a better place! Thank you for sharing Stasia’s story with us. At the auction so many drafts and so many babies. Those two puppies got very, very lucky!
Im so sorry for your loss. When my mare (i had 36 years) died , she just couldnt ever be replaced.Its been years and it still hurts. Ive had so many horses but its never been the same. ❤

I am thrilled to no end that Envy stole Nates heart because after all you guys have been through with her to give her a chance at a happy healthy life she deserves to stay right there with you 2 on the farm till the end of time. Envy has had a special place in my heart at a distance, but now I know she'll have the best life and will never have to worry where her next meal will come from or not being treated for any kinda of boo-boo. Congratulations, Nate, on adopting a magnificent horse. She is truly one of a kind, and you have both chosen each other as best friends ❤❤❤. I remember all the haying equipment you have from my teenage years! Those were good times! The smell of the hay and the activity of making the bales. The big dinners and late night emptying the wagons. We also got to make forts or rooms with the bales. The barn cats loved those rooms for their kittens.
All those draft horses. Drafts are my favorite. It would destroy me to see so many go to slaughter. I'm sure they're worth more too because of their size. =(
It is called a wolly bear moth. The caterpillar turns into the Virginia tiger moth.. it's secretions can cause irritation . So happy at y'all's progress ❤

It warmed the heart to hear Nate found him a forever horse. I know how strong the bond between a owner and a horse can be. I had one of those, and he passed away as well. Haven’t bought another one yet I live in Florida and hard to find a place that I can put a horse where I live another great video. Thank you guys for all you do for these wonderful animals.

She has been through so much. Cheryl I think it was, did so much loving care way back with her. You did amazing work with her, I was worried about her outcome at that time. I knew then she was so special and she is a beauty, a real gentle giant. Glad she is staying with you Nate. She belongs there with you. I know you will love and trust her. I am so sorry you lost your Stas, she sounded one of a kind. It’s hard. Be happy with Envy and just love her for herself - she will be forever thankful and happy with you.
I love that you do the trails. You really bring in the community together, looks so much fun. You sure have loads of work to do always, never a dull moment at the rescue. You have such a great team of helpers. You are very lucky. It’s a happy place you have there, even with the sad times - there are such good vibes.
It must be sickening going to an auction and seeing those kill buyers trucks. They Turm my stomach. So many horses, many have a real hard life ahead of them with the Amish and will return one sad day when they are totally worn out, damaged, hurting, ill treated beyond any standards we know possible , unable to contribute to their ways of hard work anymore, I cry for them already. Knowing their terrible fate of most - what a horrible life. How can they just not care, treat Gods creatures so mercilessly, I will never understand.I feel badly for the people that have surrenderes that cannot pay the whole fee, but am so thankful they at least brought their animals to you and not try to make a buck at the auctions, slaughter pipelines. It’s a hard World for many atm. So thankful for the valuable beautiful work you all do! You are all amazing!❤️

That whole thing with the tarp was exceptional! That was beautiful. And Cordelia... precious.
Can't bectoovcareful regarding that cleanup. Wish more people would clean up like that. One of my horses stepped on a four inch twist nail. It 'just' missed his coffin bone. That horse and I surprised the vet several times. Successfully 💖. He was wonderful. My hirse. The vet was okay. Lol. He humoured me. It was hard-working, but worth it.
That accident happened in the riding arena of a barn with a great reputation. Apparently they didn't do a clean up before laying down the turf and the nails,worked their way up....cute. Not.
When it comes to the puppies remember that they have no Parvo prevention yet and Parvo can remain active in the environment for a year. The dirt they walked through and that you bring home on your clothing and footwear today, tomorrow or even last week can kill them next week or month. Get their puppy shots and limit where you take them until their protection has had time to do its job of keeping them safe and healthy. They are very cute and will have a better life with the care you'll give them I'm sure.

In the uk the nozzles of the diesel pumps won't fit in a petrol car tank, so you can't make the mistake of putting in the wrong fuel 🤞🏻👍🏻
Watching the mare with the bad leg is there anyway to make a small movable ramp to put next to the back door of the trailer to help cushion the descent from the trailers to lessen the pain.
So glad you were able to get some Belgians including the one with the bad new. You are so right, the Amish stink. So many overworked and scarred Belgians owned by the Amish wind up at Kill Pens in their mid to late teens. Also you are right the Amish breed dogs, they are nothing more than puppy mills. I visited one in Lancaster, PA under cover with a dog rescue and was shocked when they brought out a shih szu pup that had eye infections and was very dirty. They kept them in a barn and probably in rabbit hutches.

FOR BEE STINGS- make a paste of Baking soda, put on sting, repeat whenever it bothers you. Baking soda neutralizes the enzymes in the venom, and as it dries it draws. Works GREAT.
You need to buy one of those powerful magnets on a stick, crazy how many things it picks up. The farriers use them to pick up slivers after shoeing…

I’m from Australia and we don’t have Amish over here. It honestly kills me to see so many horses that they destroy one way or another. I’m a bigger woman so I need a heavier breed and the prices over here are crazy😢I’d be honoured to take any of the horses you’ve rescued ❤I can’t thank you all enough for everything you do .
