An awesome cool video. Very educational I neat trick with the paper in the socket, lol. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and know-how. Stay well & safe Jim.
Thanks Jim. Another excellent presentation. I wasn’t sure how to remove the starter after I got the bolts out. Just a little persuasion from the trusty hammer did the trick. Be well. Rick
I removed the fan shroud and fan. Passed a long extension from the front of engine while working on my back under the car.. Took me a long time to figure that out for my 93 Crown Vic. All set for my 60000 mile Grand Marquis when the time comes.
The Starter replacement on a 4.6 Panther platform is gotta be the worst job to do on them Id say because of the clearance issue. Never had that bad a time with the B-bolt on a F250 or Expo but I'll never give up my GrandMa Keith 😂
On my car the starter was very loose already, top bolt was missing completely. I used a stubby 10mm closed end 12pt wrench with a bend in it to tighten the bottom and middle bolts down. Starts like new again. Video is still helpful for finding which bolts were which.
working on my 2000 crown Vic, today, I have a better idea, now, of the disassembly, thanks guys..

Thanks for watching! How are you doing with everything going on now a day?
I love how you put the socket in place before doing anything so you could show us where it was. Well done video thanks a lot

xD When it works, it works. What year is that low mileage marquis? Mine is a 95 with 240k+ on it.

Thanks for sharing
Most people only put two bolts back in when changing the starter on these 4.6s haha
Is this the same for a 1995 Lincoln town car?
What mm size for that last back bolt and ratchet socket combo size
Good question.
I was wondering the same thing.
Flashlight would have been nice
So unless you two are affiliated somehow, this is def taken from Jim the Car Guy.
