When I did the first starter on this one it was using ramps only. It was definitely tight. I recall using lots of wobble extensions to get that third bolt....
"Name brand, new part" fails. We've all had that frustration! What are your thoughts on putting dielectric grease on the starter electrical connections to prevent corrosion?
If I wanted to test my starter by jumping the solenoid with a screw driver, would I touch the two bolts on the solenoid that had wires connecting them?
It’s possible to do with the right extensions. I replaced the starter on my 2001 TC. At first, it was a bitch accessing the top bolt and removing the starter, very tight space. After figuring out the right extensions, I removed/ installed in 15 mins. I’m about to replace the starter on my 04 TC soon. Hopefully I can remember the correct extensions lol 😂

Impossible to do working in the dirt. No clearance. Can’t even access the bolts. Even with a jack take it to a shop

After I replaced the starter the car shuts off when I put it in drive!

is this the exact same method as a 95 Town Car?
Is the starter in the same location as on the 2000 Lincoln town car?
