Thank you so much for comparing the charge. I’m seriously considering buying this unit because of your videos. I love how you are no nonsense and informative. It makes a huge difference for a newbie who’s only camped in a tent as a child. I wish I understood the concept of energy consumption and charging I worry about my fur babies.
Power can be a complicated thing. That is why we wanted to have all the bells and whistles factory installed. Coachmen and Renogy di an amazing job on this RV. All I had to add was 2 more solar panels, and that was easy. The game changer for us was the dual 400 amp Lithium batteries. They make all the difference. Best of luck!
Thanks for posting all your videos on the Cross Trail. I have 2022 Cross Trail 20XG, not the Extreme as it was not offered then. I have 2 solar panels, 190 watts each. On a good sunny day there's about 12-14 amps charging. I have 4 100 amp AGM batteries. If fully charged, I can run air conditioner on full for 4 hours. I run a high speed processor every morning as I am a day trader. I stream TV at night, run a microwave everyday, air fryer and indoor smokeless grill as well. If my batteries get near 50% charged I just run the engine for about 15-20 minutes and the additional alternator does the charging. I've been on the road for 19 months now...and have plugged in maybe 5 times, lol. Your solar set-up is the ultimate, especially since you have Lithium batteries in the Extreme model. You will probably never NEED to start your engine to use the additional charging alternator. Again, love your videos!
You seem to have a pretty good setup for what you are doing. I do hope to now get by without the need to turn on the generator. I guess the value of that will be simply resale value, whenever that time comes.
Before seeing your channel, I bought the same RV from the same dealer, for the same reasons. Love your upgrades. The sink and faucet are next but right now I'm mounting two solar panels. How did you locate what to screw them to?
hey critters, thank you for the videos. I plan to buy a RV in the future and the Cross Trail is on my radar. Please keep us updated on the roof and and build issues. thanks. subbed.
According to coachman, your solar charge controller so limited to 800 watts total and 100 volts OCV. YOU MIGHT WANT TO CHECK THAT YOURE NOT EXCEEDING THOSE. DONT WANT THE MAGIC WHITE SMOKE!
Wow, thanks so much for this info. I will be following up with a tech as I now have right at 800 on the roof. I will not be plugging in the ground until I can confirm. The last thing I want is the magic white smoke.
@@WildDoveTrail I am actually trying to get an appointment to have a specialist review the system. Spoke to 3 different Blue Compass dealers in my area and no takers so far.
That is a Dokio that I purchased from Amazon for just over $200. Very light weight, I believe about 16 lbs. It's super easy to set up and take down. Usually takes me less than a minute to set up or take down and put away. Output is fine, not amazing but considering the ease of use and price, it was worth it.
We actually used very little silicone, first in the hole before the screw then a little around the screw. We strictly followed the panel manufacturers instructions on install. We will also use plenty of DICOR over the entire mount so fingers crossed it's all good. Thanks for the great comment. It's important to point out.
@@ricktanner9817 I smacked the Winegard antenna on a WalMart pickup roof in Fairbanks, AK last summer. I immediately caulked the hole where the wires went through with silicone in case it rained. Everyone on the Sunseeker group got on my case for using silicone. Ended up cutting it out and filling with DICOR then covering the whole thing with a solar panel. Winegard is crappy design anyways, better off with a signal booter.

We did our best to line them up with the existing ones. Have you seen the video review the Vancaskeys did of our RV a few months ago?

Thank you! Still amazed so many people out there were just like us and looking for info on this RV. More needs to be out there and available.
It didn't really show the inside too much I'm guessing this is the one with the large door and the flip up bed so you can fit an e-bike inside?
No, it is the 20XG. For a very detailed review, watch the Vancaskeys video posted 3 weeks ago.

@@ricktanner9817 did you find out if you could exceeded the 800? Also were your dual eco-flow lithium, batteries factory installed? Thank you.

What was the brand of panel you had hanging on the ladder?

No silicone! The DICOR won't stick to it.

Hey Rick I just purchased my 20XG. I have a few questions for you as an experienced user of the 20XG. May I contact you via email?
