I didn't know you did shuai jiao! But I shouldn't be surprised due to your enthusiasm for Bannerman martial arts! Your 甩 really reminds me of the 金雞獨立勢 from Qi Jiguang's "Essentials of the Fist"
Sweet! I just learned about this martial art and it looks cool! I’m just a simple wrestling man myself and anything grappling intrigues me. I guess I also do boxing; but I started with wrestling.
Wai definitely focuses more on lengthening out the opponent, and shuai popping out the leg - results in basically the same posture and imbalance but a different feeling in execution... 🤔😁👍
What if I told you Jeng Hsing Ping (Zheng Xingping) who is direct student of Chang had another name for this? And it is SAME name at least one branch if Beijing Jiao uses? AND that when you pull arm across body as you do it there is even another name? Spent last several years translating about 50 different texts 😂
SC as in "Shuai Chiao"? There is no-jacket Shuaijiao. Most styles of Shuaijiao do no-jacket as warm up, and there is one local style in Shanxi that is 100% focused on no-jacket.
@@the.wandering.warrior Yes Shaui chiao. For years I've read about the differences between SC and judo. One being that SC doesn't need a jacket/gi like judo. And two being that SC throws are intended to land opponents specifically on thier head which is why it make break falls different or difficult. I was more interested in seeing these types of throws where one is thrown on head. Do you know of any examples of this?
@@the.wandering.warriorlol of course you wouldn't want to harm your partners. And perhaps not an attacker if you could give him a less harmful lesson. Clearly there is a combat version and a sport version. I wouldn't want to punch my partners in the nose either but we know it is possible. My interest is to see the claims of no gi and these types of throws that are said to be different than Judo. The SC sport version does not reflect this.
@@Leonidas3888 well, no jacket I'll probably show more of in the future... I actually quite enjoy it Head smashing, I'd like to but I'd have to be very careful about presentation.... I have some ideas but we'll see, no promises
And this is why I love Chinese martial arts. Stances and forms give you the basics.
Nice collaboration! Ill be releasing the next episode of the Shuai Jiao history series hopefully in the next couple of weeks.
Looking forward to it!

Yup, began formally training it in 2020. I'll have to take a look at the old general's manual... 🤔
Grazie Emanuele, grazie Vincent 🙏🏽
Grazie per il supporto Maestro 🙏

You got the essens of "why" - thanks for sharing and keep up the good work.
Another nice informative video. Well done.
Wai didn't focus on the leg smash just using the leg as a fulcrum. Shuai really used the leg to displace the person's balance.
Wai definitely focuses more on lengthening out the opponent, and shuai popping out the leg - results in basically the same posture and imbalance but a different feeling in execution... 🤔😁👍
Fantastic vid! So similar yet so distinct, great work guys.
Thank you 🙏
I'm glad you made this video.
Even if the arts are similar, it's always good to look at the vernacular and ask "Wai?'
Absolutely... and you know I hate puns 😑😒🤣
@@the.wandering.warrior Don’t worry man, I got you.
I’ll come up with all the dad jokes for you.
Wai so serious?
Thanks 🙏
Amazing video, guys!!! By the way, does anyone know the name of the background music? Thanks!!
Great video, thanks for sharing your knowledge
Thank you for watching!
Love it.
I'll try to incorporate this in my no gi game
Good, do it and if you get it on camera and post it, give me a shoutout or tag me on Instagram 🙏😁 wishing you success
fantastic!

Where do you teach in Taiwan?
I'm in Pingtung Taiwan but willing to travel
Nice video 👍

You kinda look like Dmah from Martial Club. 😮
Really?
@@the.wandering.warrior Yeah he does Martial Arts too coincidentally. I’ve been a fan of them for awhile. Look up Daniel Mah reel 2015 you can see. ☺️
