It’s nice to see 346 without her bear trap! Looks like the weather was perfect and moist for the cinders to fly without causing a fire! And holy moly No.20 was highballing fast. I never seen that speed on the loop at all! I dunno what her speed is but that’s faster then the diesel they use! Oh don’ forget the whistles! No.20 and 346 I think 491 too? They all sound different! It seem every time they run them (for me) their whistle is different! I also saw how they lighted up 318’s light to make it seem she was alive too. That was just cool to see how 318 got to be part of that. Oh my goodness this event was awesome!

Agreed This event was awesome. I would agree with the fact that the whistles sound different from event to event they sometimes interchange whistles. I also agree it was nice that they included 318 it is a very pretty locomotive. I hope they do this event again in the near future.

@@ColoradoRailroadProductions yes, 318 was amazing part. She always has been up on that hill facing the garden. When I saw the tanker cars and not 318 I was confused. And a person said she is at the round house. I wonder if they moved her after hours. 🤔 and I never knew she had a working light. 318 will be restored in the far, far, future. Can!t wait till that happens!

@@Sonic.Mario.64 Yes they did move 318 after hours on the Thursday before. Unfortunately 318 will never be restored its smokebox is to thick to build steam

@@ColoradoRailroadProductions strange, I remember when they used their diesel to pull the trains I heard the Narrator talk about her being restored in the future. And with that, how did she build steam before she was put on display or throw away when the narrow gauge came down?

@@Sonic.Mario.64 The issue is that it’s smoke box got a hole in it so it had to be rebuilt. The museum tried to do this operation twice the first time They got the smoke box too thin and the second time they got it too thick. Since then they have not attempted to get a smoke box that is in between. It has also been stated that the museum is happy with three operating locomotives. It would cost too much to restore a fourth.

I wish we had a Railroad museum in Maui Hawaii

Good video, though it's sad to see the direction the museum is going with all the ropes. You could see just about everything in the collection when I was a kid, and now whole sections are closed off.

Personally I don’t find it sad. They are just trying to prevent the Musem from getting lawsuits against them. If they get a lawsuit the Musem could definitely get shut down

346, 491, and 20 are the three operational right now, while 346 is currently down for 1472-day inspection/overhaul and likely won't run for the rest of the year with all the events coming up. 318 will need a new boiler to return to operation, something the museum likely won't do.
