Pro tip: when Geena Urango asks "shall we dance?" the answer is always "yup!"
I LOVE the part where she explains that not everyday, we players are just ripping serves 100%. There are always on and off days, it's how you deal with them that matters. Particularly just placing the ball well when your rhythm that day is off.
This video made me get up out of my chair and start practicing air serves, lol. There's a LOT of technique you can practice without a ball actually. Just training your brain to think differently is a HUGE step.
Same lol
Maddison, any tips on perfecting the jump-bump serve? Looks like a great way to throw off the other team.
It’s crazy I’m learning volleyball (thanks so much guys your videos are incredible) for the first time in my mid-30’s. It’s crazy how principles from other spots spill over into volleyball as well
Very helpful video!
Coach Robertson's son here (the AVP coach from Kelowna) and I just wanted to say THANKS for posting what you're posting! You've helped me become a better Volleyball player for sure!
I tried out the 1/2 step and it really helped!! Awesome breakdown guys
Happy New Year fellas... just wanted to say thank you for all the great content thus far... it’s not only refreshing to the sport and culture of beach volleyball... but you dudes are authentic and original which makes your brand super likable ...And you bros are boyishly funnie :) ...especially when there is a super cute jump server as your guest schooling you on dance moves and 3.5 steps to being awesome. Great video to start the year my dudes. Geena thank you for hanging out with the boys and ‘crushing’ ;)
Great video as always
Madison's jump serve is the best thing on RUclips...cuz we've ALL been there. 😂 Oh and great video and explanation!
Great work bros and Gina!
just arrived home from dance class into this hehe. Enjoying your videos pretty much :) Thanks for sharing. You not only appear skilled at what you´re doing, but also pretty funny ;D well and nice..Best wishes from germany
Now jump serving and blocking wheew that's hard lol
Thanks Gina!! Greetings from Argentina
Great tips! Can you make a video on float serve?
I love these videos
Thanks so much, I implemented her steps into my jump serve and it’s almost always over, in, and down. Don’t even know how I jump served before watching this!
Great ,thanks so much. Greetings from Ghana
Great videooo
Excellent
Nice vid gents... can you guys do a series on different types of outdoor serves (side spin into the wind, sky balls, jump floaters, jump serves, float serves, high float serves.....)
This video fixed my shoulder pain. Thanks
She’s soooo pretty!😍
Woah I was in a play senior year too and had to learn the Charleston
Smooth Riley
sick intro edit of that first jump she does
I would be sooo stoked for a how to handset set cleanly video
This would be interesting as well, don't think we saw this video in Feb?
Wow what a serve! I think key is high point of contact with high jump. Great video as usual guys. Gina is really cute!!!
the spin, makes the object's trajectory more stable. It's the Torque principles in physic. Check "Torque demonstrations" on youtube. Therefore very usefull in windy conditions ;). for the half step, I would keep to the charleston's idea and just call it the Up beat. It's rythmicality/musicality I would say.
so pretty!)
Last year we were checking videos on jump serving on the beach with some coaches and players. Imo, this is a perfect indoors serve directly moved to the sand. Having the approach of two steps + gathering makes it almost impossible to jump serve on power when there’s wind (as the ball will catch too much airtime and move).
We tried out few times and starting already with the left foot ahead, right foot long step, left foot gather; we measured an overall improvement in efficiency, accuracy and power of around 75%. Which means it would be quite more precise than taking the full approach (as the player would have to chase ball, run, jump and then hit a shaking ball).
The McKibbin Brothers that’s possibly because of our indoors background; Evandro and other power servers take the two step bomb to a huge new level of power
Man I knew it this video will be viral at PH
Do you have a video creating the top spin on the serve?
Do you guys live in Hermosa? That rooftop and beach clips look like Hermosa
4:36 - In basketball we call it the finger roll 🏀
Great vid dudes
any tips on making a strong short jump serve, like if you take a normal jump serve approach and then hit the ball so its a short serve? I see it more commonly in indoor but have also seen it done well on the beach
Any progress with this? Would be interested to learn this as well.
@@sick1ck me too
NICE! At the point of contact with the ball, are you always seeing the contact?? Or do you allow your eyes to drift to your destination point?? AND, when I begin learning this, should I be just going for it? or should I work my way up to a full approach - first starting with a one-step, two-step, and then three step?? --yeah... real-life beginner here :b
Thank you! I'm a solid "B" with my passing and setting, but, for whatever reason I can never seem to get my approach right - so I'm always early, under the ball, and waunky (both my hit and jump serve) - so my hit is always some kind of shot rather than a hard driven ball. Sounds like I need to make my way down to Hermosa for a class sometime.
Can we get her on every video from now on?
Why'd y'all change from MCKB to MCK? I thought MCKB was perfect...
Hello,
i noticed all three in video are using same hand for tossing the ball and hitting serv, what about using other hand for tossing?
Thanks.
Are the arm swing mechanics intentionally different when jump serving vs hitting at the net? In the arm swing video with Taylor he was finishing with his right hand on his left side where as Geena seems to be swinging strait ahead and getting close to piking
Makes sense, thanks for the reply!
This is so informative! But I also couldn't help but laugh that Geena is squished in the middle while both guys man spread to either side of her
Wow she’s hot people look so different when they aren’t playing. 😂😂😂Great video. Gonna try it out tonight
Thanks for these videos. Before you guys, there was a void of intelligent, well-produced beach volleyball tutorials on the internet.
I have a question about the toss. I find my toss is much more accurate & consistent when I toss with two hands. I don't put much spin on the ball, but am I hampering other aspects of my serve by using the two handed toss? i.e. power, accuracy, etc.
Jump float, though I rarely get the ball to actually "knuckleball" like a good jump float ought to. I just toss with two hands (with no spin on the toss) and whack the shit out of it towards my target.
Am I really missing out on additional power/spin by using the two-handed toss?
thanks for the replies. You guys have the best beach volleyball content on youtube. Keep it up!
I toss with both hands when I serve is that wrong
If anyone could reply that would really help thanks guys :)
It's better if you want more control of the toss
Can u serve like this in just a regular game
what
Cheyanne_is_dah_queen Yeet like indoor? Then yeah I guess?
Its a three step with an extra jab step
So pretty lady!)
Are u cold, man ?? Why are u sitting in hat indoor ? 🤔
This boy is 5’10 and has no hops.
Gina is hot
Great information, but the video editing is annoying.
