I truly admire and respect you two for the passion you bring to the sport as well as the unique perspectives that you freely give during your breakdown videos on every aspect of the game. Also, it is refreshing to see the brotherly friendship you two share that is obviously genuine and extends beyond family blood. Thanks for all your videos.
I absolutely love that you guys talk about the mental aspect just as much as physically how to do things. My Dad always told me sports are 90% mental 10% physical. We always write 90/10 on the bill of our hats to remind us. Love the content.
Just finished my first season of beach (any volleyball really) but I'm already good enough to be asked onto some of the better teams in the area! These videos make it really easy to understand and put into immediate practice. Thanks you guys!
Much respect for this video guys! As an indoor and beach player is always gonna be a struggle to keep your timing for both. All I can say is play both all the time lol.
This is so true as someone whose recently been transitioning to sand, I keep thinking of it as timings and predetermined spots the sets should go 🤦🏽 thank you for changing my perspective!
Thanks for the tips guys. Indoor player here who played 3 times a week religiously and maybe twice a year on the beach before CV. I started playing more beach a few weeks ago and felt like an I diot everything I went up for a hit. Finally starting to get the hang of it.
You guys are great! Amazing tutorials! I have been an indoor player for many years and beach vb player hobbyist since 1988. Thank you from Greece, keep up the good work! Μπράβο Παιδιά!
Thanks for that drill! I struggle soooooooooo often with waiting for the set. Then I can't adjust if it's not a perfect set. Love the mindset, it's my job as a hitter to put every ball down, regardless of the set. Great video!
What you said in the last 10 seconds is very crucial , I figured out after a long time . Mentality should be to go for the ball and not wait for it , because it’s gonna come down faster and you’ll miss it and hit the net . If you go for the ball then you hit it at high point . I just play with this thought all time .
Well, I might as well subscribe... I've watched all your videos already anyway. Seriously, great stuff guys. Especially your life stories were really inspiring.
Beginning my second year of beach after 5 years of indoor, definitely ready for a banging season with videos under my belt! Thanks, McKibbin Brothers! Love you guys!
Can you do a short video on the difference between a beach ball and indoor ball? What’s the difference when setting/receiving/serving a beach ball versus an indoor ball?
I’m brand new to sand volleyball and I LOVE IT! Thank you so much for your awesome videos that are helping me to have a better understanding of this game!
You guys seem so relaxed now compared to when you guys started. Really impressed! Super happy that you decided to get your channel started and put your effort into it. Thanks bros!

Hey ya, this is me writing a nice little comment and saying thanks for the amazing videos just in general. I've mostly played indoors but recently picked up beach and it's a lot of fun!
Thank you for making tutorial videos. I feel myself really improve by applying these skills even in indoor games. I didn't realize the reason why I couldn't see the block was due to being too early. I look forward to your future tutorials!
I can hit just as well as Taylor Crabb...from the first part of the video. Excellent video, thanks guys. I'm still guilty of doing indoor approaches on the beach. Old habits die hard.
I think the biggest difference between indoor and beach is the philosophy of the roles. Indoor I set to feed my attacker and need to find them which means I need to watch their movements and their approach to give them the ball they want to attach. With beach even though the passer is also the attacker, the setter needs to only give a good height to the ball and not too close to the net to avoid an early block. There is so much talk about getting your feet to the ball but I think you can be a lot more effective in attack if the setter feeds more dynamic balls to match their partner's positioning on the court. You rarely see behind the back sets in beach which is also weird.
@@themckibbinbrothers really do love yalls content and channel. Hello McKibbin brothers!! I've been playing sand volleyball for 1 year now (2 years indoor) and ever since I started I found you guys on RUclips and have been a fan ever since! Love seeing your personalities on camera and the competitive matches you post! Keep up the great content, quality is awesome. After playing sand for a year I've worked my way up to A level and was wondering if you guys play/meet with fans when you tour? I live by the Cleveland Ohio area and thought about going to the next Avp tournament that is close-ish. I'd love to hear back from you two! Stay awesome!!!
Here’s a thoughtful comment! 😄 First thank you for these videos. Can’t thank you both enough for taking the time to make these and helping the competition to be better and just helping everyone to improve and maybe be like you one day 😯😃. Also huge thanks for having Taylor in your video or i mean your stunt double. @@themckibbinbrothers So i have an idea for when after COVID is over. "The McKibbin Challenge Tournament". Free content. A sand Vball tournament for subscribers only, no pros allowed. It would be an awesome promotional event for your youtube channel/Brand, and absolutely FREE content. Just an idea!
Between indoor and beach which is the better professionally? Like in terms of how easy it is to get a team/partnership, how much it pays, and how good you have to be.
Thanks guys for this. I love the extra effort of bringing in another perspective, another shot at explaining the importance of getting your feet to the ball. I still hear Taylor putting his face right into to camera saying 'no. 3 get your feet to the ball!' I am afraid, there are many other videos in the making before this returns, I felt I needed to ask you this about getting your feet to the ball: What you show and say including that nice drill is mostly about adjusting to sets that are off but only to far in or out (i.e. to far left or right). To me what happens more often is setters trying to compensate being late, rushing past the ball and then by overcorrecting pushing the ball away from the net. Or simply being afraid and not pushing far enough. I think this is far more difficult for the hitter because it lengthens or shortens the approach. Can you say something about sets that are off this way and how to practice that @The McKibbinBrothers ? Maybe here in the comments ? I really think this is something we see at tourist, amateur and pro levels alike albeit for different reasons. Like serves to shorten the approach. How do you react to that as a hitter ?
@@themckibbinbrothers thanks man. This is exactly what I meant. Your answer makes a lot of sense to me now. Will think about some drills to practice what you just talked about. Watch the game, figure out a tendency, adjust: Rather give up a bit on an optimal approach, but be ready otherwise when the setter has tendency like that. Definitely makes more sense than blaming the setter, especially for amateurs who change partners a lot.
Love your videos guys, thanks! What's got you excited these days? I've been taking advantage of the forced reset that has happened with the local facilities being closed to rebalance my body in the gym. Currently, I'm slowly getting back onto the sand, still working on getting the feel back, but am looking forward to seeing the benefits of the gym-time translating to the court,
Thanks for the video but can you dumb it down a step further? What does “feet to ball” mean? Should we start our jump directly under the ball? Is that what it mean?
This video had extra laughs. Thanks guys. I especially loved Taylor in his indoor gear and getting introduced by the AVP tournament announcer. When I saw the "Batter's Box" clip, I am reminded to ask: Did you actually ever really play baseball? Your batting posture seems odd like you were faking it.
